After conquering the nearest city, your small empire has become sturdy enough to be more or less self sufficient. The farmers grow enough food, and the merchants, though hard pressed without outside trade, have adjusted to the point that the local economy is stable. What's more, your lieutenants have made full recoveries, and are excited to hold a ritual so dark and evil, only the truly demented dare partake in it's fiendish rites. A morning meeting.

You sit at the head of the conference table. At your right is Vanessa, you're beautiful and manipulative daughter, who gives you a heart shaped card every father's day. On your left is Duncan, the brown-nosing assassin who has made attempts and failures to follow in your footsteps. As Duncan shuffles a stack of papers addressing the more mundane topics of evil rule, Vanessa moves on to more interesting business.

"As you know, Daddy, Marigold is a bit of a stand out in the minion pool. As much as I hate to say it, I recommend promoting her. I think if the minions see opportunities for advancement based on performance, it will motivate them to go above and beyond."

"Yes, well, that's all good in theory." Duncan's voice is as effeminate as ever. "But it might also lead to sabotage and infighting. I think it's best to keep the minions on a tight leash, so as not to inspire ambition amongst them."

Ultimately, it's your call. You lean back in your swivel chair and contemplate the options.

>Make Marigold "Captain" of the Minions
>Make Marigold Puppet Mayor of the city
>Make Marigold a Lieutenant
>Leave her where she is, maybe give her a mug or a plaque

You decide to create and subsequently fill the position of Captain. Vanessa makes a note of it.

"I'll have a more suitable costume made up for her. I'm thinking black leather. But then, I'm always thinking black leather aren't I?"

"Sir, I also want to bring up the matter of that boy you assigned to me. While I was mending, I started him on simple strength training and a protein and calcium rich diet. He's growing like a weed now. I don't think he's ready for combat, but he's eager to serve."

Vanessa begins doodling some concepts, and Duncan moves on to the next order of business.

"The merchants are upset about the lack of incoming goods. Unfortunately, we're landlocked at the moment, and unless we control a port there's no way we can obtain anything from outside our boundaries without stealing it. The local lords and landowners refuse to deal with us, since we usurped the land we have by force. I strongly recommend marching to the sea, even if we only have two thousand fighting men ready to go. The only risk I foresee is putting all of our eggs in that basket, and leaving our lands defenseless."

Duncan speaks true on all accounts. It would be a great boon to have some control over the sea, but it's risky to make that grab.

You decide to split your forces in half and make for the coast. It will be tough, but you'll find a way.

As you break up the meeting, you ask Vanessa to set up something with the Demon Temp Agency and see about getting someone in for the trip.

You make your noon rounds of the fortress, checking up on this and that as you plan your next move. The minions here seem content enough, and Marigold is excited to hear about her new position. The others pat her on the back and praise her hard work. It's around this time you hear the warning bells begin to ring throughout the fortress.

You rush to the walls to see what's happening, and when you look down over the expanse of tasteful wasteland surrounding your home, you see a field littered with groaning and battered minions, all lying prone in the dirt as a familiarly bald fellow whirls like a dervish between them. He spots you soon, and raises the forefinger of his free hand, that which is not throttling the throat of a minions, to point at you.

"You! I've been seeking you out for days! I demand a rematch, for my honor!" He tosses the minion aside and takes a fighting pose.

>>
>>45535592
You warn him that further accosting of your men may result in headache inducing paperwork, which he doesn't seem to fully comprehend. At any rate, you strike a deal with him. Should he help you, you will agree to a rematch. He seems to chew this over for a long time, probably wrestling with his silly ethics or something tedious like that, before finally agreeing, and coming out of his stance. You meet him in the ground, and shake to seal the deal.

You introduce him to Vanessa, since Duncan is already familiar with him and his craft. The two get along about as well as oil and water, but they seem to hold their hostility toward one another second to their will to aid you.

You spend the next few days preparing for the trip. Vanessa informs you that the best she could get from the agency is a few imps to keep the fortress clean while you're away. It seems the demand for contracted forces has been extremely high thanks to another political power struggle in the underworld. It happens from time to time, and it's always annoying.

After making final preparations, you ready the men you hope to take and begin making for the city to grab a few last minute things. With you are Vanessa, Duncan, and the eastern man, who goes by the name Shen. Marigold is assigned to keeping an eye on the fortress, but you suspect the forces you have will suffice.

You tell the men to take only what they can carry on their backs, and begin marching northeast toward the Cold Coast. There you will gain access not only to large trade ports, but delicious cold-water delicacies like crab and the ever rare and deadly lobstrosity.

The march is rough and taxing. You manage to get two good meals a day, but you miss your pantry more and more with each muffinless morning. It isn't until the third week that you meet with any form of resistance, which comes to you as a town militia, armed with little more than farming tools and the occasional hunting crossbow. Despite their steadfast loyalty to their lord, they are but an insect to a thousand trained men, an assassin, a succubus, and a man of the eastern arts. Still, to ignore them is to invite danger later on.

You give Vanessa the task of negotiating your way through the town. She seems delighted to have a chance to play with the smallfolk, and begins preparing immediately. With her she takes only a bowl, a drum, and Duncan. With a snap of her fingers, her suit shifts, becoming a flowing and rather revealing dancer's ensemble, made from silk and sheer fabric, and finished with gold bangles, chains, and sandals. You see her off one late night, and set up camp out of sight as you wait.

It takes only three days for Vanessa to return, not only with a satisfied expression and a slightly round belly, but a chest full of gold and jewelry. Duncan seems quite exhausted, but assures you that the town is now as friendly as as a tired kitten.

You and your men march straight through town the next day, and look on at Vanessa's work. Half of the place seems abandoned, and the remaining people merely go about their days dreamily, as if in a daze. Some of them recognize Vanessa and Duncan, and aren't even deterred from conversation when a minion shoves them into the muck. Vanessa plays with them just a bit, promising to return from her trip very soon.

You ask Duncan exactly what happened. He is slightly embarrassed to recount the tale.

"We arrived in the dead of night at the inn. She put on a little show for the local drunks, and earned us a room to stay in. The next morning, she danced in the town square, quite adeptly, and earned us a bit of coin. The local men were taken with her, naturally, and the local women with me, as I was forced to beat that damned drum bare chested. She was invited to dance for the mayor, and was able to charm him quite easily into handing over the treasury. The next two nights she spent giving any who would pay two gold coins a "private dance". When she got them alone, she merely had to ask and practically handed her their souls. The men came for her, and the women for me. All in all, she must have feasted on three dozen of them. The last day was nothing but her convincing them to allow us all safe passage."

An inefficient plan, but an effective one. You decide to reward Vanessa with some tender affection over dinner, which she appreciates.

The remainder of the march is rather uneventful. You even manage to take a small fort by surprise, which would likely have been impossible if not for Vanessa's shrewd tactics. When you finally come within range of the port town, you set up camp a few miles down the road and hold a war meeting to determine the plan.

You tell Shen to prove his strength here and now. He is surprised, and a bit confused, but after some thought he seems to come up with a plan. He departs empty handed, confidently striding towards the town. You watch and wait for his return.

When he does come back six or so hours later, he kneels before you with bloody hands, and a severed head. He presents it to you proudly.

"The most powerful man in the town, Daniel the Claw, has come to greet you. His two hundred underlings wished to visit as well, but they were indisposed." Standing, Shen tosses the head into the dirt and grins. "It was a decent workout, I must say, but now the town knows the strength you command. Even the militia has taken to tucking their tails tween their legs and burying their heads in the sand."

The head lays on the ground, tongue flopping, flies buzzing about it. Shen does good work, at least. And he is shockingly cruel.

You deliver a hard cross to Shen's temple, knocking him into the dirt. He goes down like a sack of turnips, and you laugh. You tell him he's done well, but unfortunately he's just wasted his chance at a rematch. You'll be happy to offer a third one, of course, so long as he sticks around. Even he can't help but be amused by this jackassery.

The march into town is easy as pie, but you decide to spend a few days getting things organized. The ships coming and going have no preference for who they hand their goods to or get them from, so long as they get their money. The locals, stricken with fear, offer no resistance, at least not openly. The only real turbulence comes from the remaining criminal element, who seek to fill the power vacuum created by Shen's brawl with the largest gang in town, but even they are quickly quashed.

You begin enforcing your laws on the people, who take to them as well as the last town, with the exception of the mandatory military service. They had no army before, and seek no violence now.

You tell Vanessa to begin training the new minions. She doesn't know much about combat, but she knows everything there is to know about persuasion. A few sweet words here and there, as well as some punishment and reward reinforcement, and within a month the new troops are ready to march into the mouth of hell for her, and by extension you.

With things wrapped up, you are ready to make for home. The locals supply you with the food you'll need for the trip, but as you ready the carts you receive dire news from Duncan.

"My dark lord, the nation to our north has heard of our expansion, and they seek to crush us before we can threaten their borders directly. I can't say for certain their numbers, and I believe them to be fewer than ours certainly, but they have cavalry, and ships. Worse, I know for certain that the great nations often employ mighty warriors as commanders. Should we meet one of them, you would be the only one able to defeat them soundly in combat."

By now, Vanessa and Shen have gathered round too. Things are about to get rough, but you must be decisive.

Our new troops will be more likely to fight harder and better since they'll be fighting to defend their homes here in the port. The other anon is right, too. You look Duncan dead in the eyes and say nothing. This goes on for over an hour, until Vanessa finally takes charge of the situation.

She decides to try and meet with the leader of the approaching force herself, bringing a gift of gold and booty to attempt to bribe him from the enemy's side. Before long, she is off and you are left to secure the town as best you can.

A day passes. Three days pass. A week passes, and on the eighth day you hear word from a minion. A message has arrived, in the form of a box. When you open it, inside is a letter, which you unfold.

"Dear Sir or Madam

Your succubus is our prisoner. Her efforts to charm us were for naught, and now her blood flows into our cups like wine at the solstice. If you want her back, come alone to the Cavern of Carrion, northwest of the town. Bring no weapons and no men, or she will die in a way most painful.

Sincerely yours, Shaka, general of the 13th battalion.

PS, she cries for her "daddy" every night. Please give him our regards."

You crumble the letter in your hand and look back into the box. There is a lock of raven hair, and a vile of demon blood. They aren't bluffing.

You smash the box with a heavy stomp, and tell Duncan to keep an eye on the town while you're away. Having not read the letter, he is very confused, but does not question your decision.

You march alone with nothing but some dried meat and water, and arrive at the specified location within two days. The cavern itself is dug into a large hill, and the entrance is a clear indication of how it obtained it's name. The stone and soil form a sort of mouth, and the entrance is littered with animal bones. Likely a large predator lived here, or at least did once, since you've seen no tracks on the way here.

You stare into the dark maw, unable to sense but the faintest life energy within. You suspect if Vanessa is inside, she's alone. If not, then someone is waiting for you.

You consider summoning your sword for its flames, but before you get a chance the ground collapses beneath you, revealing a pitfall.

You slide down a tunnel, and exit through a wall deep below, landing in a shallow pond fed by trickling water from above. You look around, but the room is pitch black. Suddenly, a torch lights, stuck into the far wall with a nail. It illuminates Vanessa, pinned to the wall by cold iron rivets in her palms and feet. Her blood streams down her arms, toward her navel, and drips into the water. You call to her, but she is unconscious.

You reach out a hand, and in a surge of hellfire your sword appears, settling in your grip. The flames that dance along its blade light up the area around you, revealing not just the water and stone floor, but a veritable graveyard of human and animal bones piled and scattered all over. You scoff, and begin approaching Vanessa, but stop when you her a deep cackle from the dark.

"Welcome, friend. I'm glad you made it, I was beginning to worry about your loyalty to this girl." Your eyes narrow, and settle on a dark figure emerging from behind a stalagmite. He is clad in dingy robes that wrap around him like a mummy, and his face if obscured completely save for a pair of piercing blue eyes beneath a hood.

"Tell me, is her father distraught to know of her fate? She misses him so, you see." The man, you presume Shaka, reaches out a hand and runs his knuckles down Vanessa's face, feeling her hair. "I suppose he is loyal to you? What a fool, to send an innocent child to a place like this." Shaka laughs, raising his arms as if to present the dark cavern to you.

>"You will die here."

You say nothing, and plant your forefoot in the ground, using it to launch yourself forward. The ten meters between you shrinks fast, and your aim a lunge at his heart. Naturally, everything must go wrong, and as you approach, the water ripples, and from beneath the surface emerges a pile of bone, which twists and forms into a rough, six-fingered hand. It catches you, and wraps around your body, attempting to crush you. You peer over and see Shaka losing himself in sickening laughter.

"Say hello to the 13th battalion! My own pride and joy, made all the more powerful thanks to this precious girls demonic blood! Stand proud my creations, and greet our guest!" Shaka continues to laugh, raising a golden totem in one hand, waving it to jingle the small chimes hanging from the end.

All around you the bones of fallen creatures rise up and arrange themselves into twisted effigies of men. Once formed, they begin approaching you and adding themselves to the hand that grips you. You struggle to break free, but Vanessa's blood truly has empowered them, and you'd wager Shaka is quite talented in his own right. Your options are few, but you must act quickly.

You quiet your mind, and try to reach into the deepest pits of fear and anguish hidden within your demented psyche. Hidden away beneath layers of darkness and hatred, lies a tiny kernel of terror. This kernel pops like so much corn, and gives way to a wave of agony that overcomes you, and summons forth the Mistress of the Ninth Circle of Hell, Queen of Pain and Mother of Malady herself.

She emerges from the water, which burns like oil at her touch. He skin is red as blood, and smooth as cream. Her hair is black as the depths of the dark sea, and silken to the touch. Her eyes are piercing red, and draw you in like an animal to succulent bait. Her figure is so stunning, to behold it is to invite madness, and her custom-tailored suit fits like a glove of only the finest cotton.

As her heeled shoes touch the surface of the water, sending ripples throughout the underground pond, her eyes dart around the room. She spies Vanessa, then Shaka, then you. Her scowl is powerful enough to give even the undead constructs pause.

"Hello, dear." She spproaches you calmly, her hips swaying so hypnotically you can't take your eyes from them unless it's to glance at her full lips.

"I see you've gotten yourself into yet another mess. I suppose this is the last time, just like the last two last times?" You have nothing to say, but you do have a throbbing and guilty erection. "Hm. Either way." She turns to Vanessa, and with a wave of her hand the cold iron rivets fall away, releasing your daughter, who falls forward and is then suddenly cushioned by the air itself. She floats slowly into her mother's arms, who carries her like a babe.

"This is strike three. I knew letting her live with you was a mistake. She's coming back with me and Glen." Fuck Glen. "I'll have my assistant come for her things tomorrow morning."

She needs to learn the business from someone who's been in it for three centuries, not be running around with apes and thugs like you two." She gestures to both you and Shaka, who merely shrugs.

"When she wakes up, I'll let her call you, but I'm locking her up until she sees reason. Even if it takes the rest of your life."

"I have a shortcut I used to make my dramatic entrance, it goes straight to the surface. Just follow me."

The two of you make a journey back to town on his horse-drawn wagon, and arrive sullen and thirsty. You ignore Duncan's questions and tell him and the others to get back to work as you make your way to the nearest pub.

Three drinks in, you're already on the verge of tearing the place up out of anger, but Shaka manages to calm you down.

"I know how it be, man. I had two kids back in the day. When I was alive, I mean. Then I go and get ripped in half by a minotaur and suddenly I'm 'an unfit parent'. Makes me wonder why I even made that deal with the undead lord to come back." He pauses to drain a shot glass, wincing afterward. "I joined the army because they takes all kinds, yknow? But now it just feels like I'm doing the same shit, day in and day out, living from paycheck to paycheck. No kids, no house, can't own shit when you're dead. I dunno. You ramble on about this and that, stirring up both of your drunken hearts, but after the third bottle of tequila, you start to shift from anger to somber. You begin mumbling about that fateful day twenty-two years ago, when you were still employed by the Sorcerer Vald.

It was hot out, because of the burning city you'd just sacked. You and your friends Ray and Bobby were patting each other on the back for the bang up job you did, when suddenly one of the underlings ran up with a message for you. Your wife was going into labor, and the evil midwife you hired was urging you to come in quick. You practically begged Ray to cover for you, and he finally agreed if you promised to name Vanessa after him. You agreed, which is why her middle name is Ray.

You burst through the gates of hell, knocking over imps and fiends left and right as you rushed to the delivery room. When you arrived, it was too late, and she was born. The midwife asked you to cut the chord, and you summoned your hellfire sword to do so. As you held that bloody abomination of nature in your arms, screaming like a mandrake, you couldn't help but feel connected. To think something so terrifying had come from you was simply breathtaking. As she suckled from the razorgoat you brought in to milk, and then ate it alive, you fell in love.

By the time you finish, Shaka is misty eyed. You ask him if he'd like to help you out, seeing as you seem to get along well enough.

"I would man, but I gotta finish up this contract. Tell you what," he says, wiping his eyes and reaching into his robes. "Here's my totem address. You ever need some undead whipped up, I'm your man. I can't do big stuff of they'll chew my ass out, but I can do anything amalgam and below." He hands you a wooden coin with heinous runes carved into it. "I should get going. What are you gonna do?"

When things finally settle down, and Duncan brings you a cup of black coffee, you explain what happened. He seems quite shocked by the events of the day as well, seeing as Vanessa was a friend to him.

>"No, I just want to go home."
Let's get undrunk before we make a bad decision.

You sleep for a few hours, and join the minions for the weekly orgy enforced by your new laws.

At first, things are pretty awkward, as is to be expected from people new to the orgy scene. People standing on opposite ends of the room, trying not to make eye contact, trying to keep relatively covered up by their bath towels. It's up to you to show them how it's done, and you do, picking out two girls who look about ripe, and going at them. Before long, people get into the swing of things, and soon you have a proper celebration of hedonism and deviancy. After about four solid hours, things calm down, and you break up the meeting to hit the showers.

To your surprise, you do feel a little better, but thinking about Vanessa still makes you feel a little sad. With the town properly settled, Shaka's forces on their way home with bad information about your 'defeat', and not much to do when you return, you wonder why you'd bother going home.

FUCK EVERYONE. We will show the courts we can do our job!

We have our new port town, no need to expand more and piss off anyone else.

Time for a bit of housekeeping

We can afford to loosen up a little, right? Maybe manage things a little, try to forget about our troubles for a bit.

Maybe check in on Marigold, see how things are going back home.

It's what Vanessa would've wanted.

No wait! Lets call up a lawyer and get our daughter back. I'll be damned if we don't use every resource at our disposal to at least try and get her back.

We can do that while we secure the coast.

You begin the long march home, leaving most of the new men behind to defend the town. Thanks to Vanessa's training, they are practically thralls, so you're confident they'll remain steadfast in the face of future attackers.

The trek home is quiet and stressful. None dare speak to you unless need be, or they risk a hard backhand into the dirt. By the time you pass through the town that resisted, you think you feel a bit better, but when asked about Vanessa by the charmed citizens there, you go back to moping.

Finally, you arrive on your own doorstep, and are greeted by the saluting minions, lead by a newly uniformed Marigold. Her armor is not partially steel, with a small hat in place of a helmet. She too notices Vanessa's absence, and asks about her situation.

You tell Marigold that Vanessa's mother paid you a visit, and nothing more other than to meet you tonight. She seems confused, but knows better than to question you.

You make your way to your office and flip through your Rolodex of Darkness, searching for a single lawyer that isn't soulbound to serving your wife. Turns out, there's only one, and she's Lawful Good, against all odds. Do you dare beg at the feet of a Cleric?

I want to fill our Ex-wife up with our mortal seed and make her have another kid and WIN that court case just to spite her even more. Am I horrible?

Which is why we're going to do it. Because we're evil.

A true dark lord has people serving him that don't even know it and think they're a force for good.

You pull out the card and establish a connection to the astral plane. Hold takes a total of three seconds, and you are put through to her secretary right away.

"Good afternoon, you've reached the offices of Sun, Moon, and Stars! If you're calling about a case in progress, I'm afraid you'll have to contact-" You interrupt her here, and tell her you're looking for legal counsel. You explain the situation, and she seems genuinely touched.

"I'm sure Miss Blanc will be happy to take your case, let me put you through to her." This again takes a shocking amount of time, only five minutes. You reach Janet Blanc, and explain the situation for the fifth time in all, and she sympathizes.

"Don't you worry sir, I'll help you fight this. And if it's any consolation, you sound like an amazing father." With that, the line disconnects. You wonder if you should have mentioned the necromancer torture, or any of the hell bits.

You have a hardy meal and retire to your evil study for a while, simply ruminating on the situation. With a small nation's worth of land, you should be rushing to secure your borders, but without Vanessa it all seems pointless. all you can do is wait for something to happen.

Stupid evil pls go.

We owe our Ex THREE favours already and she is a deamon. Pissing here off would make the called in favors most likely go from 'mildly annyoing' (that is horrifingly cruel and demanding and quite severly cuts or leisure time) to 'real work'. Pls don't.

No one fears a dark lord if he isn't around to administer the occasional evil stare. Remindes the peasants of their fealty.

Putting forward a notion in >other

Have some nice underwear laid out for marigold by duncan or yourself. This should make her either obidient and eager for our return or make her antsy which could be fun to watch. Gives some evilulz without doing lasting harm.

I don't like wasting perfectly good opputinities and servants, just for the sake of being evil and having evilulz. Smart evil is imo best evil

Call Duncan and Punchy Mcgee and tell them they're working all night on a plan to defend the newly won lands.

Then go back to your room and get to some cherry poppin'
>>
>>45541950
You return to your bedroom promptly, quite exhausted. When you enter, Marigold is awkwardly leaning against the far wall, peering out the window beside her at the mountains across the way. When she hears you, her head snaps forward, and she stands upright.

"Sir. You summoned me here, though I'm not sure I understand why."
