First Jump! Into the Pokeverse!

Region: Kalos (Rolled)
Age: 12 (Rolled)
Gender: Male (Natural)
Background: Hermit [50 CP]

Starting Pokemon: Eevee + Egg Move (Covet) [50 CP]

Skills: [600 CP]
- Survival Training, Pokeglot, Champ In the Making

Gear: [400 CP]
- HM Collection, 50K Pokedollars, Headsets, Laptop, Bicycle, Medical Kit

Flaws: [+100 CP]
- Swarmed

Spawned in the depths of Santalune Forest with an Eevee. Traveled around, gathering up specific Pokemon that I already know and love as my favorite team. Ability to talk to Pokemon and survive outdoors helps immensely until I can get my fear of people under control. Very capable trainer and quickly improves and befriends each Pokemon I add to my team. Refuses to catch them the traditional way. Instead talks to and convinces Pokemon to join me. Have to make changes to what I initially want as a team when things don't go as planned or when Pokemon turn out to be surprisingly more hostile than intended.
The Zubat attacks are initially terrifying and represent a significant drain on my resources. But they serve as excellent training for new tactics and moves and allow my Pokemon to get used to operating as a team. After months of traveling around, I would end up heading back to Santalune City and starting to work my way through the Gyms. Not with any intention of beating Champion's Road, but because by then I would be interested to see if I could.

Team
= Jolteon – Volt Absorb: Thunderbolt, Shadow Ball, Agility, Light Screen
= Gallade – Steadfast: Leaf Blade, Night Slash, Psycho Cut, Brick Break
= Gardevoi – Trace: Psychic, Energy Ball, Future Sight, Heal Pulse
= Mawile – Hyper Cutter: Flamethrower, Crunch, Rock Slide, Strength
= Lucario – Inner Focus: Aura Sphere, Dragon Pulse, Flash Cannon, Poison Jab
[1/2]
>>
[2/2]
Despite not having a sixth, I would manage to do well against most of the Gym Leaders. Sometimes it has more to do with the intensive training than any type advantage. The sixth spot would never be filled on a permanent basis. It would be left open for temporary companions, Pokemon met along the way who didn't want to stay with the group forever for one reason or another.
I would take to traveling the world, seeing all of it I could in my ten years. I would not make friends in every city, but those few I did would keep in touch no matter how far I traveled. Eventually I would have visited every region except Orre and have gained a badge at each gym. I would never try to become beat any region's champion. I wouldn't want the kind of attention that would garner me and besides, then I'd have to stick around and defend my title.
The last few years of my time would be spent running as a Pokemon Breeder running a Daycare somewhere. Probably Hoenn. I would not get involved in shutting down the various bad guy teams unless I was absolutely forced to. Even then, I wouldn't care for getting any credit for my actions.

Huh, you must be the first person I've seen take HM Collection.

I've always wondered-what would happen if a human consumed an HM?

Oh boy, more builds.

(Chrono Trigger)
-Species: Human (Free) -Let's stick with what I know, shall we?
-Background: Genius (950CP) -Let's do some fucking SCIENCE.
-Home Era: Antiquity (Free) -I shall be among the magicians. Aw yiss.
-Element: Fire (Free) -LET IT BUUUUURN!
-Leave It To Me (900CP) (Discount) -This is... weird. A bit. Not sure what it does.
-Precision (800CP) (Discount) -Having expert hands is just simply amazing. Yiss.
-You Repaired Me (Free) -I understand the workings of Artificial Beings? Huh.
-Guru (500CP) (Discount) -Magitech knowledge? Awwww yiss.
-Lathe of Heaven (200CP) (Discount) -Make things even better quality? Minimize weakness? I WANT IT.
-Power of Zeal (-400CP) -Crazy-ass magical might? Oh ho hoooo, GIMME~
-Power Is Beautiful (-600CP) -I FEEL FUCKING PRETTY. The Queen is not so pretty.
-Lavos Beckons (-600CP)
-Conservation of Time (-500CP)
-The Trial (-300CP)
-But The Future Refused To Change (0CP)
Dice Rolls: 17 years old
-End Choice: Next Adventure

So I need to kill Lavos. But I can't change the timeline, people accuse me of a crime, and I can only teleport by myself.

Shit. SHIT.

I mean don't get me wrong all kinds of magic is pretty fun! As is knowing how to make so much shit with quality untold, but THESE ARE NOT OPTIMAL MAGICAL CONDITIONS. What, did the Queen of Zeal get huffy that someone else was encroaching her game? IS SHE JUST JEALOUS. I DON'T KNOW.

All I know is I'm gonna collect a shitton of magical energy. Then I'm gonna put it into a bomb. Then when Lavos shows up and even so much as opens his mouth to breath, I'm shoving the bomb into his mouth. Complete fucking vaporization of both him and the surrounding half-kilometer.
>>
>>45382320
Aren't they CDs?
>>
>>45382320
I actually run under the assumption that HMs are a disk that can be played from any device that accepts such things (Hence my Laptop) and provides tutorials for Pokemon on how to unleash abilities they already have the potential to learn.

I'm sure any Human could learn some of the basic Fighting and Normal moves, but you'd have to have some serious talents already to pick up anything else.
>>
>>45382325
Would... would you even survive that kind of explosion?

Second Jump: Cosmic Wearhouse

Utilities:
Electricity [10 CP]
Plumbing [10 CP]
Heat/AC [10 CP]

Structures:
Shelving [Free]
Terminal [10 CP]
Robots [20 CP]
Housing [20 CP]
Workshop [10 CP]
Medbay [20 CP]

Miscellaneous:
Loft [10 CP]
Portal [30 CP]

More of a sidestep than a true jump, but this place will come in handy. Not a bad little pad I've created for myself. Robots run off tracks anchored to the ceiling to conserve space and make access to all heights of shelving easier. The Terminal allows me to make sure I know what I have and not lose anything. The Medbay is also nice. The lack of food could be an issue, but I figure I can keep it stocked with supplies from the outside world. I'll put the terminal upstairs above the Workshop to save space for more stuff.

Companions Left Behind: Mawile & Lucario.

Total Space not taken up by Structures: 36,000 Square Feet

So. I may have a few problems. But hey, I'm a masochistic optimistic person. I mean, I survived RWBY against what are probably worse odds. Granted, I did have a lot more knowledge of the show, whereas here I've only played DmC so far.

But yeah, on the upside, I now have immensely more survivability. On the downside, I'll be needing it.

I'm not overly sure what I'll be up against, but maybe we can swing it.

I do have both of my main companions now though, so that's nice.

Speaking of which, I couldn't find an import option. Is there supposed to be one?

Endurance 2 [100 CP]

Dexterity 2 [Free]
Appeal 0 [Free]
Shape 1 [50 CP]

Perks:
Flexibility 1 [Free]
Metavore [100 CP]
Evercleansed [100 CP]

Okay, so I'm as fast as a cantering horse and I can keep it up for miles at a time. I'm decently strong, but not overly so. I can parkour well enough to get me out of trouble. I also get my excess fat slimmed off and it's going to stay off, while my glasses get tosses aside for great vision. Flexibility gets rid of my bad knees and Evercleansed allows to be keep from being gross, but I don't look much better than my normal self. I can live with all this.

If you're an Electricokinetic Conduit in InFamous, do you have all of Cole's weaknesses (any more than a puddle of water kills you, vehicles and guns explode if you touch them, etc)?
>>
>>45383074
Electrokinetic*
>>
>>45383074
Yes, but you have similar weaknesses for any other Conduit type. Smoke Conduits burn things they touch, Ice Conduits freeze them, etc.
>>
>>45383074
Yes, presumably until the end of the jump. Buying toggle gets rid of that quite nicely.
>>
>>45383107
But those would be due to lack of training. Cole's weaknesses were innate because he stored electricity in his body.

Does toggle effect non-conduit powers, or is that too fanwanky?

-Magic (200CP) (Discount) -Training in the gift of magic. I likey.

-Magical Ring (Free) -Eh, a nice trinket if anything.
-Bounty (0CP)
Dice Rolls: 22 years old

I'm a filthy, filthy druid. Plenty of magic sure, but it seems the kingdom hates any mages. So they apparently hate the shit out of me? And there's a bounty because oh boo hoo someone has magic and doesn't have shit all over them, they must be a witch!

Fine.

I'mma carve out a nice cave system, then I'm gonna terraform it to be a magical awesome paradise, then I'm gonna make my OWN kingdom. It's gonna encourage magic and make sure people aren't assholes and a bunch of magical trinkets and magical swords AND IT'S GONNA BE SO CASH YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW. HOW DO YOU LIKE THAT, UTHER.

True Jump 2: Infamous

Starting City: Empire City [Roll]
Age: 24 [Roll]
Origin: Soldier [100 CP]

Conduit Type: Electrokinesis

Additional Powers:
+ Durability [Free]
+ Regen [200 CP]
+ Subdue [350 CP]
+ Transfer [650 CP]
+ Toggle [950 CP]

Gear and Supplies:
+ Bug-out Kit [Free]
+ Hypervisor [1050 CP]
+ Rebreather [1100 CP]

+ Parachute [1350 CP]
+ Wingsuit [1400 CP]

Setbacks:
+ Leak [1300 CP]
+ Greenlit [1000 CP]

The early years of this Jump are going to be the hard ones. I would probably let my secondary memories guide me more than in the Pokemonverse while I sort things out. But the military higher ups expect results and I've got a powerful gang hunting for my ass. So I take things to them. I'd chase down a few of the lower thugs or simply wait for them to try to ambush me. Too bad they weren't expecting three rather bad ass Pokemon to be watching my back. After some “interrogation” I'd report to HQ, grab everyone they'll let me have and hunt every single one of them down. Tactics? Brutal. I'd use Jolteon to keep the Bio-capacitor filled, draw from it, and use Transfer to give a whole host of my army buddies lightning firing powers. I wouldn't be able to keep it up for long, but I doubt we'd need to.
The gang's conduits (if they have any) are probably going to be the biggest issues. If I learned they had any, I would go draw my other two companions out of storage and use them as countermeasures. Not only would they be a shock to anyone, but their abilities could be devastating, even indirectly.
[1/2]
>>
[2/2]
Now I'm absolutely sure I'd catch all kind of shit from my military buddies for having these weird, cute animals around, especially after they flamethrower and lightning blast their way around the battlefield. I'd hide them back in the warehouse when the military brass came looking and just look stupid. Maybe I'd explain them away as Conduit infused animals, but I doubt they'd by that.
So at this point I'd either get drummed out of the military of utter insubordination or the brass would ignore my actions as long as I got results. Either way, I'd continue to fight alongside, or in the shadows of, my military group until a semblance of peace was brought to Empire City. Then I'd retire somewhere. Seattle maybe. Take it easy for a few years.

I'm just more disappointed that magic is automatically seen as a bad thing. Why not encourage an ethical learning process and better the world?

>>45383787
It's going to have MAGICAL blackjack and MAGICAL hookers and all kinds of magical things that I'm sure are completely unnecessary but people will want.
>>
>>45384226
So I honestly don't know that much about Ranma, but what I do know leads me to believe that I'm probably going to stay far away from the plot.

It apparently has plenty of friends martial artists to fight, so that sounds fun.

Really, I'm mostly here to get everyone access to Copycat and gender shifting. And to get some more abilities for Yang, since she's lagging behind.

Still, this is basically a vacation compared to my last two jumps.

Unless my trouble with directions causes me to stumble into another dimension with an army of demons or something. That can't happen, right?
>>
>>45384290
Probably because it is ye olde England and social values are skewed. Witchcraft is a horrible pox that damns your immortal soul forever, and sometimes being a good king means culling your neighbours.

>Why not encourage an ethical learning process and better the world?

It's ironic the only difference between your and ASA's plan is your lack of an apparent intent to turn Camelot into some sort of new world order, and probably more machines. Well, that and

>MAGICAL hookers

I was going to ask exactly what MAGIC adds to the hooker experience, but then I realised the answer is clearly: Everything.
>>
>>45384313
You'll probably be fine.
>>
>>45384313
Nah, no real demon problem in Ranma. You'll propably just wander literally the entire globe during your stay, while on the way to your neighbour. Somehow.

Plot isn't that bad to get involved in, except for most people involved being assholes and/or insane.

All kinds of weird martial arts through, so that should be nice for your copying.

Fuck that. I just want to make sure people can learn magic without feeling like they're damned or without their neighbors deciding they gotta sharpen the ol' execution axe. There's a huge difference between just wanting to clear up misconceptions and helping everyone get along... and being so arrogant as to assume everything HAS to be changed to some grand design and that humans can't possibly trust themselves. Pushing things too fast is just as bad as being stagnant, you need a nice happy balance to it... and sometimes balance means helping people get along and letting them decide their course.

Speaking of (not) getting along.

Just curious: have you ever taken a jump that had magic as an option without buying magic?
>>
>>45384602
I liked your story here >>45380772 I was a big fan of the bit where since you had no way to defend yourself the speedster from Earth 3 killed you on the island. Really showcased how a 600CP drawback works just fine even if you haven't built to survive it. Great show! And the fact you survived with nothing, on an island that's super dangerous (600CP worth of danger in fact), while being simultaneously hunted by 300CP worth of deadly assassin's that can counter anything you developed on the island to save yourself? Man I am in envy of your ability to survive 1500CP with only bodymod on your side.
>>
>>45385085
Subtle sarcasm really is the best kind.
>>
>>45385085
In his defense, when I read it I assumed that the drawback that put you on the island happened before all the other stuff that happens throughout the rest of the jump. Like, you do the island, go to Star City and /then/ speeders or assassins or whatever shows up.

Assumption was made off of the bit in the island drawback that states you survive it no matter what.

I'm a big fan how the speedster from Earth 3 killed you as you walked down the gangplank having survived on the island due to plot armor. It was really inspiring how you tried to fight back, but your powers were atrophied and flat out didn't work on the speedster, and the and the 300CP worth of assassin's killed you only a few days after leaving the island as they developed counters to anything that did work. And the fact that your story even has them killing someone on the island with you, meaning they were trying to kill you on the island but somehow the Speedster wasn't? Genius! The bit where you say he only came after you once you were a speedster, but this is a world with time travel so he didn't try to steal your power before you got it? Oh man that was good. 1500CP worth of drawbacks right here folks, survived by a miraculous man with nothing on his side but his pluck and his equally powerless companions.

I think the only times that was ever a case, is if the magic in question was dickish enough that it like... kills souls or something.

But other than that? Hell no, I grab magic wherever I can. I absolutely love magic.

The otherworldly nature, the mysticism of being able to control such power and force with your mind, the nostalgia of how regal and ritualistic it can make people... and the excuse to dress up all fancy and throw a bunch of light around. Really, magic encompasses everything I love. I've always wanted to have it, and I will always take it no matter where I am, barring the most extreme events. Magic is more than likely a drug for me along with being a way of life.

Hell, it's where the Digital Pun-Pun originated from. I like magic so much that I'd study it whenever I can. I'd gladly make a computer that could scan and analyze magic if I could, and the ability to MAKE my own spells? That's just the bees knees for me. There's something of a thrill at the idea of making fire appear from your hands. There's a giddy pleasure at the concept of snapping one's fingers and causing any dirt on you to simply vanish, leaving you clean. Being able to study, analyze, and make magic like that means collecting as many systems as possible. Find the connection and similarities between them all. Find the Source of magic... in this case, the Source Code. Crack it, begin to build. Adapt, change, improve, become.

...I like magic.

Question to Digger about Pure Evil, No Pulp, in Actraiser:

When one drains the sin from someone, does it actually 'purify' and/or cleanse then? Or is it more 'take a portion, make it liquid, badaboom badabing' and any existing sin still kinda floats about sinning.

Johnny Quick was interested in stealing my speed. Not killing me. He like Zoom needed my speed to be as fast as possible. He needed a lot of speed to open a portal to Earth 3. My powers are atrophied but not absent. I still have my gear and ways to attack Quick and assassins that come after me.
>>
>>45385257
From the looks of it, you get 50cp per imported Companion to divvy up between them, they can pick their origin, and they can choose their Race instead of having to roll.
>>
>>45385861
Drawback says "your speed & Jumper powers", not just your speed.
>>
>>45385960
>Speedsters draw other speedsters, and even if you aren't a speedster with this perk you draw them like flies to honey. Unfortunately you've drawn the attention of evil speedsters who are faster than you, and are immune to your extra abilities. Their goals range from killing you, making you suffer, making your friends and family suffer, and/or stealing your speed & Jumper powers. Manage to kill or defeat one, expect another to come and replace that one. Remember that time you failed to catch that legendary? THAT WAS ME JUMPER!

You see immune to all attacks? The speedster is immune to your abilities. it wouldn't be fair if he/she was immune to everything you have. Otherwise it wouldn't be beatable. Reverse Flash was brought down by Green Arrow, Firestorm, and Flash. So I don't see being able to fend Quick off with using my equipment. I only defeated him at the very end.
>>
>>45385897
Mm... that makes sense, though I wish had been written a little more clearly.
>>
>>45386142
Not what I was referring to. Look at what their goals are, not what they're immune to.

>>45385398

>>
>>45386240
Stealing my speed & jumper abilities. Ok, I see that, what about it? Johnny Quick is from Earth-3, the opposite Earth from Earth-1. Where heroes are villains and villains are heroes.

The particle accelerator explosion weakened the time-space barrier. It's not until really S2 where the dimensional barrier is weakened as well.

So Quick wants my powers. It would still work in his benefit that they become as strong as possible. It's rolling off of Zoom, who wanted to fatten up Barry's speed like a Christmas Goose.

In his defense, the guy who became Green Arrow had a hell of a lot less than that and he became a superhero. Honestly, the real issue is that it's almost a perk rather than a drawback, let alone a 600 CP one.

So I have some questions about the Horcrux from HP.

If you're killed, but your body gets healed by someone else or you have a healing factor that manages it or something, can you just return to your body instead of having to make a new one?

And if you're killed but have a spirit form like if you were a shinigami or some type of ghost, could you still take that form?

Chi/ki I likewise love, but I often find between magic and ki, I often have to forgo the latter to pursue the former. Like in... Negima? Yeah, that had Kanka, which let you pool chi and magic together to make this bullshit insane combo that would go absolutely wild. Coupled with CCS's 'Conjoining Conjures' which could mix magic schools that used different sources, and it could get even more fucking ridiculous. But I couldn't partake, so unfortunately ki is in second place... which is sad! Because I really like the idea of being able to improve one's life force to do things. It gives the idea that humans are totally awesome and that if we dedicated ourselves enough we could reach higher states of ability and self, and I gobble that shit up like you wouldn't believe.

Psychic powers... I guess it depends. I do rather enjoy the idea that a person's mind can improve/unlock such powerful awareness. I've actually talked with Gold Roger (the jumpmaker, not the character) a bunch of times for the sake of babble and trying to see how different people viewed psionics in general, and I'll still read plenty of stories about it. But when they just have psionics mean "fuck let's just make them do everything", that's when it gets boring. Just going "think and it happens" is a piss-poor way of doing psionics. It's when there's an organization to it that I'll indulge. Of course that didn't stop me from grabbing shit from Zerg, LoT and other such places, because WHY THE FUCK NOT. I'm a horrible hypocrite and having a kickass mind appeals to me, so I grabbed it.

In a sense, it's kind of like a nice trifecta. Ki for the Body, Psionics for the Mind, and Magic for the Spirit. I really wish I had the points and the wiggle room to focus on those other two, though. Probably why I made Wells of Ki and Starcraft Psionic energy for that.
>>
>>45386860
>Just going "think and it happens" is a piss-poor way of doing psionics.
>Of course that didn't stop me from grabbing shit ... LoT ... I'm a horrible hypocrite
If it helps, 40k psyker powers are very much not "think and it happens." In fact, it's not really like most psionics at all; it's less "the power of the mind" and more "channeling vast power from elsewhere through your soul, but you'd better have a really strong will because that power both wants to do horrible things to you and is very difficult to control, as well as very likely to drive you insane."
>>
>>45387184
Yeah, but after the 40k jumps the maker always seems to say "oh no worries of daemon explosions" afterwards, so it kind of falls back to that again? I do agree that it seems to take a very dedicated will to actually control it and make sure it doesn't go wildly out of control on you... same with magic, in some cases. Huh.

I dunno. We do see 40k Psykers for the most part get shunted into specific specialties or roles (most of the time, seems like some people can do just anything), so that's a bit of a plus in their direction.

I actually do, yes.

There's an order to things. Like the universe, magic is far more curious and interesting when there's things you can learn and facts to utilize, not just going "nuh-uh I have a force field". While it can be useful to just make it a 'think and it happens' gig, it's far more reliable and mystical for me if magic follows SOME kind of guideline or organized system of working, even if it's something as simple as "give more blood to make the spell happen".
>>
>>45387331
>Yeah, but after the 40k jumps the maker always seems to say "oh no worries of daemon explosions" afterwards, so it kind of falls back to that again?
Well, daemon issues aside you still may have issues with Perils of the Warp, going insane, and so on, but that's beside the point, which was that it's less psionics-style "power of the mind" and more like, say, channeling the One Power or using Incarnum. More like some forms of magic where you're harnessing an external force than psionics being powered by your own mind.

>(most of the time, seems like some people can do just anything)
Think of it like a wizard who learns new spells; if you're really good at a particular field, you still might be able to do things in another field, but you're probably not going to be able to compete against someone else that specialises in that field, unless you've had much longer than them working on your abilities or are just that much better than them at being a psyker. And even then, you'd have to be a damn good human diviner indeed to start trying to keikaku with the Eldar, but the Eldar have problems trying to blast like the stronger human psykers.
I mean, sure, the Emperor could biosculpt, telepath, divine, energy blast and so on at massive power, but he's also a one-off being on a level to throw around with gods, so not really a good example of how the system works.
>>
>>45387721

My favorite system? Oh shit. Um... well, nostalgia wise I loved Cardcaptor Sakura's and Final Fantasy-style magic, but that's because I grew up on that stuff as a kid and I thought "I WANT TO BE LIKE THAT". Organization wise... stuff like Index's magic, Nasu magic (at least whenever they aren't ALWAYS BREAKING THEIR OWN RULES, FUCKING FUCK), and the magic from Unsounded. Organized, rules and themes, yet it's got plenty of flexibility to let a creative person do what they need to do.

Me to. I like the way a Wizard can theoretically use the magic for anything that the system is capable of, but they have to learn how to do so and not everyone is as suited fore all types of magic.

And now I can't stop seeing Marche as Chara. That deserves a Fuck You, Man. And a Good Job Sir.

That was a good read. Hope you stay around.

>>
>>45388925
Well I'm quite glad you enjoyed it. I really love hearing that someone else enjoyed reading my ramblings.

And you're absolutely right about the subtext. That's partially what I was drawing on when I started writing. That world is far more adult than the game lets on.

>>45388995
Judges are in charge of the Laws. They can tell you which action you are absolutely prohibited from doing on a given day. You get one warning, which results in items, Gil, exp, or even equipped arms and armor being taken from you after the match. There is no second warning. Break a second law or knock someone out while breaking a law and your character is placed in jail for up to a week.

Thankfully there is no death penalty for repeat offenders, but repeat offenders will find themselves with longer sentences.
>>
>>45388995
In combat they're about as powerful as normal people, a bit above average because they're post-game enemies, but nothing game breaking. Their main danger comes from their ability to dole out red and yellow cards at will. Yellow cards basically just cause post-battle penalties (like not getting items, experience, or having to pay a fine), but red cards can teleport you directly jail.

So, a question: in The Witcher jump, both Magic and Sign Runes perks are origin-restricted (Sorceress and Witcher, respectively). However, none of the remaining Sorceress perks (which give you knowledge on spells, increased power/aptitude and a freaking magical bloodline) are restricted to the origin; ditto with Becomes a Monster - Griffin School, which makes you an Old Witcher specialized on Signs.

So I'm honestly confused on how its supposed to work; does buying those perks lets me use magic? It doesn't and is a waste of CP? Oversight by the jumpmaker? Fanwank?

>>
>>45390228
Well, yeah, that's kinda the obvious way of going about with it. The problem is how it works between backgrounds: like a Noble buying the Old Witcher perk, for example.
>>
>>45390196
I think most people can learn magic in setting, but it isn't easy, and actually using it or obtaining magic changes you. The mutations that are used on Witchers grant them some magic, which they utilize with signs, but that most magic users change to become something a bit different from normal just by using magic. I think the old witcher perk is oversight but there's actually reason in setting for the Witchest to be something anyone could buy, you can be born with a natural talent and never use it, or have had parents that used magic without ever actually working to develop the ability yourself.

Wait, so you made a 600CP drawback then interpreted it in the weakest way possible? If you defeat him another comes along. If you defeat them another one will show up. Unless you're saying you didn't defeat him, so you lost your speed. I don't understand you at all. You put a very tough drawback on it then handwave it away when you take other drawbacks that by all rights should kill you. Your powers are weak and don't work on the SpeedsterS. Plural, more than one. Your powers are weak and the assassin's develop counters for them. How can you justify your survival against those odds with 'oh he wasn't trying to kill me'. The assassin's were. I'm sure at least one of the speedsters will be. Did you just not realize how tough you made a 600CP drawback?
>>
>>45386859
The answer is most likely fanwank it.

A more serious answer from a random anon is that you probably could posses it, especially if you have a way to posses people. It would be possession though, so you would have to watch out for exorcisms.

The spirit form thing is also a fanwank it answer. It might work, it might not. I would lean towards it working though, but that's just me.

>>
>>45392919
Even as your powers are weakened, you keep all of them. Even as they are atrophied, you still have your base body to fight off the first couple of assassins. Even as assassins adapt and the speedster is immune, you still have science and a whole warehouse worth of stuff to break them all in half.

It's honestly not that hard to survive as long as you fight smart.
>>
>>45393128
While it may indeed be possible, he's trivializing high level drawbacks he created. Saying that because he only defeats the speedster at the end of his ten years he doesn't have to fight one that is actually trying to kill him (did he just not fight the guy at all for the ten whole years? He stopped the guy from taking his powers, eventually that's gonna count as defeating him, isn't it? Or is this 600CP drawback the joke he's making it out to be?)

Saying it's not that hard isn't doing this combination of drawbacks justice. You've got plot armor while powerless, but the second that wares off you get atrophied powers and and endless stream of speedsters and ever strengthening assassins after you.

Manyfist had one speedster who wasn't actually trying to kill him, just borrow his speed. He basically used the assassin's as training dummies. Does that sound right to you?

Because of her versatility: she can be a bro, she can be trained to be a loyal 2nd in command, if you're into the Starbuck look she'd make for a solid waifu, and she her upgrades include lots of awesome point defense that give your LoT a nuBattlestar Galactica feel.

Under-over is the best setup. Don't have to make sure the barrels are zeroed properly in relation to each other like in a side-by-side.

If I recal correctly alpha talakinetic psykers are of the "crush a tank and rip apart a titan" variety. More than enough power to do most things you could think of especially since deltas can turn a person inside out with a glance. Alphaa are scary. Actually what jumps let you get alpha status?
>>
>>45394259
Pretty sure that only Alpha Plus psykers are said to do that and even then it's disputed as a claim.

>>
>>45394295
I'd suggest some of the harder scifi laser guns, the sort that actually move at lightspeed and don't visibly emit light. Preferably modified so pulling the trigger isn't visible to the opponent. They'll probably have one who knows how to dodge or develops a resistance after awhile but for the first few makes kneecapping them easy. Generally you just hit them with something they can't see coming or react to appropriately. All the speed in the world doesn't help if they don't know when to use it.
>>
>>45394400
Yeah. TTGL second season is 2powerful.
>>
>>45394411
Or hell just put a ring of mordite around the area seeing as they have no idea what it is you should be able to laugh as they hit your kill shield.
>>
>>45394432
I assume the third of fourth speedster will eventually learn that running into the black ring of literal death personified is a bad idea.
>>
>>45394411
How are you going to get a body when you get killed, though? And how are you going to do it within the period of time that a time turner can cover? And how are you going to do it while preserving causality, without preventing the attack from happening the exact way in the first place and causing a paradox?

I think you need to think that course of action through a little more, though it is a good start.
>>
>>45394458
I think they'd probably figure it out even sooner. Mordite's fluoresces violet and is covered in tentacles, it wants you to know that touching it is a bad idea. Possibly literally, given its nature as something from Outside. I'm pretty sure that even the first speedster to see it will know to shy away, it's too malevolent-looking for even the ignorant to be comfortable with it. You'll only catch someone running into it if you manage to drop it in their path before they have any time to react to it.
>>
>>45394481
In order: have a clone body premade, possess it immediately and travel back, and don't prevent them from killing you. Take them out immediately after.
>>
>>45394505
>Mordite's fluoresces violet and is covered in tentacles
Is it? I thought the thing Peabody used was something other than Mordite. Isn't Mordite supposed to be immobile and inert without someone's will acting on it. Since that's how Harry and Ortega dueled?
>>
>>45394549
Nah, it was also mordite. Peabody's was animated by an exotic Nevernever spirit. Even the duelling mordite did weird tentacle stuff to the scorpions it destroyed as a demo

Akame ga Kill:

Rolled 21
Villager (Free) - Guess I'm a peasant.
General Level Potential (Free) - I thought this meant 'typical' before I read it.
Perfect Hair (Free) - Forever?
Man of The Something (Free) - I actually like the perk's suggestion of the sea and water, so I'll go with that.
Appropriate Opportunities (Free) - I never plan on working a job when I can help it, but this is harmless and free.
Boiling Blood (200) - Spirit seems to be the name of the game, so of course I'll enhance it.
Aware Of Your Surroundings (200) - Not necessary, but it helps and frees up some brain power.
The Smile (300) - This will make an excellent weapon.
The Man (300) - This too. So many opportunities for abuse.
Simultaneous Activation (400) - Since my Teigu is an extract, this will help me if I ever decide to be a magpie here.

Extract - Favored discounts.
Precision (100) - Can't hurt.
Element Control (400) - Don't want to be a copycat of that Exdeath lady, so let's make this water.
Element Creation (200) - For the sake of convenience.
Charged (300) - Cleans up my points nicely, though I'm not much for one shots.

Simple Sturdy Weapon (Free)
I'm an S (+100) - This is already true.
Tyrant Trouble (+300) - Hello Tyranid. It's time for research!

Extract's 800-tier Teigu ability is underwhelming for some reason. That's an odd design choice. Only enhances existing abilities, else it's entirely temporary. Even if it does enhance something existing, it fades away to almost nothing quickly. On top of that, you have to have killed whatever you're stealing from and thus not get to use that temporary boost, or else be fighting it with your teeth. Why would anyone pay 800 points for this? Perks are generally good though and I'm fairly happy with my Teigu, I'm just saying.

I don't know what the plot is here so I'm not that motivated to overthrow the empire, but maybe exposure will do so. Regardless, my perks are likely to draw me into some kind of trouble.

A.) He was trying to steal my speed and powers. He needed them as strong as possible. If you watch the show, this is what Zoom does. If you watch the show RF needs Flash to send him home to the future. If you watch the show younger RF wanted Flash dead, however he didn't kill him when he was sleeping, he didn't kill him when he was weakened. What he did was show up and he and Flash battled. When RF finally learned of Barry's identity as Flash, he tried to go back in time to kill young Barry. However Barry stopped him from killing his younger self. Not to mention it would've caused a time paradox.

Besides it's /JC/, it's the ultimate fanwank.

Okay then. HP. Well, I have to deal with a murderous wizard with actual competence (scurry), but I have a Horcrux and all three of us are casual bullet-timers at this point, so it shouldn't be too hard. Not entirely sure why he wants to kill me; maybe because of the project, of maybe because my constant rhyming is just that annoying. I also know that I'll never live said rhyming down, no matter how many millenia we live.

Speaking of companions: I chose supernatural beauty for Yang to make up for last time. What I didn't tell her was that it would make idiots constantly trip all over her. Meanwhile Dante - smug dick that he is - gets to be a muggle-born in Hufflepuff.

Haven't decided what to do about Voldy yet. Maybe seal the the Horcrux pieces in the warehouse somewhere until I find a fitting punishment in a future jump.

Coltrane "Mack" Morrison, African-American UW Engineering student who awakened to his conduit powers when he was accidentally hit by a bus when rushing to class. Shroud of Invisibility works wonders and the bus driver just thought he hit a pothole.

Surprisingly he didn't get too banged up (though it hurt like hell) and got his ass to class. Over time he realized that when he gets stressed or panics he tends to show sparks or occasionally go invisible. Developed a habit of draining portable devices and occasionally sapping tv and video monitors when no one's looking though he seems to enjoy draining old CRT Televisions in the AV Storage room.

His main motto is to stay low, don't attract attention, and get his edumacation.

>>45397276

Yeah in retrospect it is kinda boring.

I had an idea for him to have the stalker drawback instead of habit and listed instead of emotion. I was going to have the villain be a hacker/gamer who's gone mad and believes that he's in a video game and other conduits are his antagonists. Before DUP fell he hacked one of their log servers and has a list of conduits identities and registered powers. He set up a program that randomly chooses a person on the list and a specific objective like killing them in under 10 minutes, pixel blast only, no use of invisibility, etc.

Coltrane was on the list because a high ranking DUP officer tried arresting him and he used his powers in self-defense. Guy got vaporized and Colt might have blew up a DUP Van. Although DUP is gone, government had him register and even though it was in self-defense treat him with disdain knowing he can vaporize someone with a pixel blast or turn invisible and possibly sneak into secured zones.

Villain knows my background of a powerhouse who justs wants a normal life and is slowly edging closer to me. He'll start off with "missions" in Coltrane's area and soon lead to a personal confrontation.

I just didn't know what to do with the points or if that seemed too weird for the setting.
>>
>>45393190
Ultimately we have to be honest, drawbacks are simply story modifiers we take on to spice up our stories. Whether you treat them as serious complications or play fast and loose with the consequences its all a matter of style and choice.

You think he is trivializing it and thinks he needs to die? Why? What does he do next if his character is killed? And if you want to talk trivializing a high level drawback there are far easier ways of doing so without going against the wording of the perk.

And lets face it, if you don't expect people to overcome drawbacks in some form or manner, there is no reason to make them.
