For Tarkir, Jeskai. The whole setting would be hard work to live in, but the Jeskai seem like they'd at least be rewarding. The Temur are pretty cool too, but I'm a sucker for having at least a little infrastructure.
For Alara, Esper. Why is there even a contest here? I guess Bant exists and has its good points, but Esper is the most appealing place in terms of geography and society
