This style always bugged me. It's more in how horribly uncomfortable the armor looks than it is the skimpiness, like it wasn't even designed to resemble armor. Not to mention the extra fiddly spikes and shit on everything and how intensely Aryan everyone looks, even when they clearly aren't supposed to be.
Also the monster designs feel like someone took a shit on a chinese knock-off toy, which I think is how we got some D&D monsters in the first place.

It's not the skin. It's how pretty much everyone has the same face (the earlier pic related), and if they're white women the only real difference is whether or not they have gaunt cheeks, the go-to for turning Mannish Aryan Sameface evil.
It just seems overdone and like they just picked one ethnic group to overuse into the ground until everyone drew the same person and made it distasteful via oversaturation, like what tumblr does with "vague brown person with a mix of European and Indian features".
