Choose a game setting. It is now effected by spiral energy, what happens?
>>
Might help if anybody had any idea what the fuck "spiral energy" was.
>>
>>44602070
Lurk more.
>>44601856
40k now belongs to the Orks.
D&D now belongs to the Orcs

In fact, pretty much every setting belongs to the Greenskins when spiral power is introduced.
>>
>>44602086
Fuck you. Everyone doesn't watch every anime.

Anyway, Spiral energy is really just your average life energy, with a focus on progress, evolution and hot blood. It's magic.

Ravenloft is the setting controlled by the Anti Spirals.

>>44601856
Paladins and Barbarians become the strongest classes in every D&D version.
Even stronger if orcs or human.
>>
Shadowrun. Nothing changes, since it's already a setting where magic is life power, and nasty creatures from another world will invade once enough energy is generated.
>>
>>44602086
I wanted to participate, but now I just wanted to tell you that you're a faggot.

Disney's Getter Rays.

They make crazy shit happen, are only sort of understood, and power the crazy ass Mechas in the setting of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

Actually with all the shit TTGL spawned on /tg/ he is pretty right in that onlie newfriends won't know about it. Wich is not a problem, but the first guy wasn't too kind to OP, wich in turn made the other guy being assholish. It's kinda the regular thing here, you post good things, you get good reactions, you say some shit, you get shittier responses. So let's break the chain here.
>>
>>44602233
How was I supposed to know "spiral energy" came from some weeabo fightan' cartoons and wasn't something some autistic sperglord retard dreamed up on the spur of the moment?

Because lord knows, we can't have a mere human defeating a Great Dragon.

What happens is quite simple anon.

You do the impossible, see the invisible.
Touch the untouchable, break the unbreakable.
But above all, you row row fight the power.
>>
>>44602385
Only humans can have Spiral Power.
>>
>>44601856
People stop playing it as it becomes a freeform rule of cool hotblooded mess as anything goes.
>>
>>44601856
Spiral Energy is basically just harnessing the power of your DNA.

So Tyranids suddenly become the most OP thing in all of 40k.

Uzumaki + spiral energy. What's the worst that could happen?
>>
>>44602693
Nah, but it's amplified by the human form. Something non human that gets a lot of it may spontaneously become humanoid. The beastmen were just specifically designed against spiral energy.

>>
>>44602732
Oh yeah, I forgot that Boota had a ton of it. And the anti-spirals used to be spiral beings but I don't think they say whether they were human or not.
>>
>>44602724
We'll tyranids lack humanoid form, minds or spirit so they wouldn't get that much of a boost at first. However their kind of natural selection would quickly adapt to those things, possibly to terrifying ends.
>>
>>44602728
Isn't the difference there that the Uzumaki spirals go inward and the TTGL spirals go outward? They'd probably just cancel out.
>>
>>44602252
Because if you aren't a newfriend TTGL is something you should've been somewhat exposed to over the years. The chance pretty much approaches 100% after 3 years.
>>
Monks are now the best class
>>
>>44602899
honestly I don't think they're different, Uzumaki could work as a canon TTGL history event, showing that sometimes the anti-spirals are right.
I consider Uzumaki-TTGL the scale of hopeless-to-hopeful application of the same concept
>>
Is Spiral Power more attuned to the Light Side of the Force or the Dark Side of the Force?

That's hard to canonically say; true in the series they were largely going inwards (but not always) but the events of the series do indicate that the spiral force(?) was trying to pull everything into the area inwards and that might be universally true.

I once tried to introduce Spiral energy (cleverly renamed Evolutionary Force because I'm not actually clever) into pathfinder vis a vis a homebrew class called Hotblooded Warrior. They worked off a combination of Cha based martial combat, Cha based spell combat, and a special resource called fervor, which accumulates as they let their hotblood take over, and can be spent to literally break the rules of the game for a price between one and ten points. one point things are small breaks (I have an extra swift action!) Ten point breaks could be straight up gamebreaking; my only guidance to gm's working with one was that a 10 point spend on fervor basically lets the HW bend reality to his whim to accomplish a task he is now dedicating his entire life to finishing. Since they would get points every time they acted hotblooded, anybody patient enough to build ten up could just bend a ccampaign over their knee.

I think it wound up coming out like a slightly worse Magus, except that he could break a game worse than some high level wizards as soon as he gets enough Fervor points.
It was my first foray into doing homebrew anything.
If anybody knew me in real life when I pitched that, I'm sorry.
>>
>>44603376
Might have worked better as either a bloodrager bloodline or archetype than as a whole new class. Rather than putting emphasis on it just flat up breaking rules, your concept might have worked better had you looked at how things already produced for the system worked around rules, like http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/achievement-feats/graverisen-achievement which allows you to outright deny one death, even against things without saves.
>>
>>44603458

I mean, this was years ago at this point. If the bloodrager was even around then, I didn't know about it. I was mostly working off of core pathfinder at the time.

Since then i've gone back and gotten a better feel of what I could've done, but its one of those things, y'know?
>>
>>44603504
honestly, I'd say if you /really/ wanted the TTGL flavor as a character option you should just make it possible (or work with your GM if you're a player) for divine casters to have themselves listed as their deity.

Heroic mortals actually can potentially beat Solars.

Alternatively, Solars recruit hot blooded teens to pilot their mechs into battle against angsty ghost children.
>>
>>44602123
Yeah you are, newfaggot.
>>
>>44603253
Well, as far as I know, is just emotions, but usually ends in fear/anger side of the spectre. Jedi are zen, dont desire, etc kind of thing, but I could have got that wrong.
>>
>>44603712
>Heroic mortals actually can potentially beat Solars.

>>
TTGL is garbage anyways.
>>
Isn't Spiral energy like.... like a green lanterns ring?
It can only make things, it's why the main group can make such huge robots out of smaller robots, all the material is created out of Spiral energy.
>>
>>44603712
And in a plot twist, the Solars turn out to be the seemingly invincible evil who are oppressing all the non-Exalted for the greater good
>>
>>44603253
I wasn't going to say anything, but I kinda feel like I need to get this out there, partly to supplement >>44603939

Light side of the force is primarily zen, like he says. It's literally the lack of emotion and complete control of self, while the dark side is more 'let your feelings run free and draw power from that'. Sadly most written Dark side users only draw from hate, sorrow, and pain, because they are the quick, dirty and easy pulls for dark force power. TECHNICALLY you could throw force lightning powered on joy and it'd be surprisingly more powerful, but unless you're some kind of battle-lover its hard to generate that in the middle of a fight. It'd also not corrupt as much.

TL;DR most dark side users look like crack fiends because hate and pain are the crack emotions of the dark side, even though joy and love would actually output more power.

... So the first age?

>>44601856
The world ends as the noblemen, capitalists, and socialists continue their struggle for dominance at the cost of the working class and the poor.

Really the whole universe ends as a Paradigm for Spiral Power emerges to consume everything, but not before the Aigera and Svamatgi have turned it into a sea of black dotted by burning worlds.

The series definitely shows the scars from its troubled production. Would be cool if they wound up making a new movie with the originally planned ending.

>>44611498
>Would be cool if they wound up making a new movie with the originally planned ending.
Wait what? There was supposed to be a different ending?
>>
>>44611633
Just look at the start of the first episode.
>>
>>44610855
When talking up the show to newcomers, I actually generally recommend quitting right before the timejump. It's just too disparate in both quality and tone to even be the same show to me. It goes on that list of wasted potential with post-1st-season Heroes.
>>
>>44610855
>>44611702
>>44611498
I honestly like the second part. I mean, it's not as good as it was before the timejump, but i think it was kinda cool by itself. Mainly because it gave some characters more screentime (like Kittan and Viral).

Hell, at least it is better than Naruto after the timejump.
>>
>>44602070
This. I am just not at all into anime. From the reply chain, I assume it is kind of a reality-bending space magic? Like 40k's Orks or Mass Effect's element 0?

And lurk more is a meaningless thing to say. This is /tg/, not /a/, and 4chan hasn't been a website about anime since about 2 years after its creation. I have been here for 9 years, and still have hated every anime this site has convinced me to try, with the exceptions of Cowboy Bebop and FLCL.

Anyways, if this energy was introduced to the Mad Max setting, things would get real fucking weird real fucking fast. If Max had control of it, I assume he would just bring his family back, but if raiders had it... I dunno, giant roving duneship fortresses? Physics defying sand submarines?
>>
>>44604266
It mostly is used to make things, and to power things up beyond what should be physically possible. It's also shown to be used for energy blasts (when Simon beats Lordgenome), and teleportation (when Simon has to smack some sense into Rossiu).
>>
>>44612161
It's pretty much an energy that lets you fuel your car with your determination and guts and do all sorts of bullshit with it. It'll fit right on to the Mad Max setting, but it won't ressurect the dead.
>>
>>44612375
It *might* be able to resurrect the dead, but if you try to live in the past by using your own desire for growth and evolution as a power source, it'll screw with your mind until you can't remember your own goals anymore and someone needs to stop you before you kill the universe.
>>
>>44611686
I still don't get it.
>>
>>44612375
Ah well shit, that would sync with Mad Max perfectly. I already do not understand where everyone gets their goddamned ammo from. And where the fuck is the goddamned ocean anyways?? Australia is a fookin island!
>>
The only t/tg/l thing I can recall is someone once said that they were running a game with a bunch of people living on sentient planet-ships ran by hot android chicks who were babying mankind too infancy to prevent them from discovering their true potential/spiral energy.
>>
>>44601856
WoD, it's called the Wyld.
>>
>>44612904
