>What is Exalted?
An epic high-flying role-playing game about reborn god-heroes in a world that turned on them.
Start here: http://theonyxpath.com/category/worlds/exalted/

>That sounds cool, how can I get into it?
Read the 3e core book (link below). For mechanics of the old edition, play this tutorial: http://jyenicolson.net/exalted/. It'll get you familiar with most of the mechanics.

>Gosh that was fun. How do I find a group?
Roll20 and the Game Finder General here on /tg/. With the new edition, though, chances are more games will crop up.

So apparently someone made Sids for 3e. Is it as terrible as it looks?
>>
So does anyone actually know what stars are in Exalted? I'm pretty sure they're not massive suns a long way away, but I'm not sure where I can read about them.
>>
>>44559997
As the guy writing it. It's not anything spectacular, but hopefully it'll improve if people comment on it and tell me where I'm completely off base.
>>
>>44561015
What does Elemental Vision even do?
>>
>>44561405
Causes gods, elementals and dragon-blooded of the appropriate element (based on the craft you bought the charm for) to gain a minor tie of respect towards you.

So it'll make it easier for you to interact with those creatures whose aspects relate to the crafts which you have.
>>
>>44561670
So why did you say "Also" for that effect? And it effects Dragonblooded? Any reason for that?
>>
>>44562064
The 'also' was a brain fart. Having written the stuff above it it felt like it should be an also I guess.

And the reason it effect Dragonblooded is because both previous editions have had it doing so. Albeit at a lesser effect in 1st Ed.
>>
>>44562146
>And the reason it effect Dragonblooded is because both previous editions have had it doing so.

And it was shitty in those editions too, yes.
>>
Could you throw an artifact heavy melee weapon as an improvised heavy thrown weapon?
>>
>>44562247
Maybe. But having an automatic, known intimacy available to manipulate is quite a powerful thing in the new edition. And given that you get it for free, the fact it only works on a certain subset of people seems like a reasonable drawback to me.
>>
>>44562367
Yes, it is a powerful thing in this edition. But it doesn't make it any less stupid. All it does is make Dragonblooded even shittier for the crime of not being Celestial, when they already have worse charms than everyone else, and get constantly shit on everywhere else.

It's not about it not having reasonable drawbakcs or being overpowered. It's that there is nothing interesting or thematic about Sidereals getting a free way into the heart of any Dragonblooded of that aspect for buying a starting Craft Charm.

Is Waka from Okami a sidereal?
>Pops in and out to challenge the player
>Predicts their fate
>Strong fighter
>Over 200 years old
>Messing with gods mysteriously
>Has a floating island above his city, with agents
>Has an office and does paperwork
>>
>>44562503
Ok. I can see your point. It's definitely in theme for Sidereals to be able to deal with spirits more easily, but much less so for them to be able to do so with Dragonblooded. Would it help at all to tell you that I'm not biased against Terrestrial specifically? As there is a charm in survival that when activated improves relationships with any lunars they encounter for the scene :P

*hides under the table to await the fallout*
>>
>>44562725
See, I am actually more fine with this seeing as how it's not a permanent, always on charm that any Sidereal can get for a 1 dip in craft.

I mean, it still makes little sense that a Lunar would be tottally respectful of you messing with what is likely their territory, but
>>
Octavian best Second Circle Demon.

Go ahead, prove me wrong.
>>
>>44563061
Nah, bikini craftnerd loli with a hammer the size and shape of Ligier's erect penis is better
>>
>>44563210
I was thinking of Erembour, but you present a compelling argument.
>>
>>44562970
Well you've convinced me. Have updated the google doc to not include dragonblooded. Plus cleaned up purchasing the charm itself so it's more in line with the 1st ed version.
>>
>>44563238
>Erembour
She's from the Third Circle, you moron.
>>
>>44559997
First thing I can see that I take issue with is that Sidereals, at least in 3e, can cover their caste mark up at the Glowing level. It doesn't show through until they hit Burning.
>>
>>44563322
The two circles that aren't cookie cutter mooks aren't really that distinct in my mind. It'd be another thing if I had the books handy.
>>
>>44563411
Well in both 1st and 2nd Ed stealth was only impossible for Sids to cover their caste mark when they reached the 11-15 motes spent level. Which is roughly comparable to the burning level. Before that they just suffered increased difficulty for stealth.
>>
>>44563411
>>44563867
Whoops. I just failed at reading and understanding. You're right it should be able to be covered up at Glowing level. I'll fix it now.
>>
>>44560939
It varies based on the whims of your ST, I believe.
>>
>>44560939
You mean in setting anyone or anyone in this thread? Because aren't they a manifestation of the loom of fate, with every star tied to a god?

In-setting, I think most people would know that astrology is a thing, and some people can read the future in the stars. It's probably also pretty common knowledge that if a god dies then a star falls.

Best demon. This is an objective fact as prophetized by the loom of fate and ordained by the Maidens.

This is missing a bookmark or two. Can anyone recommend a good PDF editor so I can put them in myself?

Should Craftsman Needs No Tool be allowed to speed up building mundane Superior projects? It seems kinda strange that you can literally punch a statue into being, but building a wall or manor is a project that still takes months/years to build. Or 6-Essence weeks, I guess, with Thousand-Forge Hands.

Seems just silly that if you were to make individual basic/major projects to lay down some bricks and whatnots you could build a castle in a few hours, but making a whole castle takes so much longer.

Whats your thoughts, anons?

>>44547100
Yeah, maybe Architect Needs No Workforce could be a fitting name for a upgrade charm. The question is, how fast should it make it building a Notre Dame (which took 182 years due to numerous shenanigans) for the Solar? How about Hagia Sophia, which only took around 5 years?
>>
>>44562320
In my game? Sure, why not, plenty of negatives in it being used as an improvised weapon and then you also don't have your weapon handy.

In your game? Ask your ST.
>>
>>44562626
No, because Sidereal are specific to the Exalted setting, and Okami does not take place in the Exalted setting.

...however, if I choose not to be an asshole and disregard you outright, then I'd say Waka would fit the bill. Granted, I haven't played Okami so I'm just going by what you've told me.
>>
>>44570700
Thanks for sorta foregoing being pendantic, the post was for people that have played, and for how he'd fit, and if he'd be a suitable inspiration.
>>

>Thanks for sorta foregoing being pendantic,
No problem. I'm glad to mostly help.
