This gives me a cool idea. Big whale like creature. You can technically survive and perhaps even live on the inside of it as it is humongous and there is basically an ecosystem in it's digestive system.
But it's haunted with dead sailors and perhaps giant parasites.
Humans attach special significance to places they live in. Most humans don't spend a lot of time living within predators, though.

It usually leaves a ghost if it was a violent evil death like being killed by your brother or something like that. Falling down the stairs because you had DEX as a dump stat won't keep your ghost. The same if you were eaten by a tiger because it looked so cute when it was a puppy.
