Have a ring with a long, thin metal spike protruding out of it when the hand clenches into a fist. The magic is that is weighs nothing more than the average ring.

Bloodsucking demon possession leading to the wielder's inevitable bloody death and the demon's resurrection are optional.
>>
A ring that amputates the finger segment above it and replaces it with an ethereal digit that can interact with otherworldy objects.
>>
>>44437404
Wear it on your penis and you get multi dimensional dick.
>>
>>44437323
A sentient ring that can seduce nearby people to attempt to steal it from the present owner.
>>
>>44437323

The act of putting on the ring triggers a curse that will irritate, but not meaningfully harm the user. This leads the user to believe the ring is cursed and take it off.

The fact is that the ring is not the source of the curse and actually wards off most of the negative effects of the curse. Removing the ring amplifies the curse (or would appear so, despite it being more accurate to say that the ring lessened the curse), usually leading to death soon after the removal of the ring.
>>
Ring that makes everything that passes through it turn to ooze
>>
>>44437323

Ring of Contempt. Wearing this ring makes others regard the wearer as physically, mentally, morally and spiritually inferior to themselves. Only strong-willed observers can resist the effect.

Ring of Never-Steps. Putting on this ring causes the wearer to trade places with their counterpart in one of the infinite number of parellel realities (the counterpart has, from their perspective, also just put on a counterpart ring). As most alternate realities differ only in the most trivial and imperceptible ways, this effect is rarely noticeable, but on rare occasions a wearer can find themselves in a reality with some more drastic differences to their original universe.

>The Hunter Ring
When you wear this ring nothing seems to happened however as other great enchanted rings come near its runes begin to glow

>The Hermits Ring
The less life around this ring the more its runes glow, it grants youth and vitality but at the cost of it's user needing to live in solitude.

>The Dream Catcher Rings
a number of rings that create a mind link between the wearers and creates a shared space they share when they sleep lting them communicate and more.

Ring of Paranoia: This ring improves your senses but results in the occasional bouts of hypersensitivity or momentary hallucination.
>>
Ring of Gender Changing
>>
Ring of Tranquility: Alters your perception to view everything around you as perfectly tranquil, happy and full of rainbows
>>
The Clapper's Ring
This magic ring was invented by a one-armed wizard. It allows the wearer to clap using only one hand. The clapping need not be done just to make noise. It can also be used to catch mosquitoes or hold something between one palm and nothingness.

Compass Ring
>this ring will, on activation, emit a light in the direction of magnetic north
>if it is in contact with a shard of a greater object however, it will point to the nearest large collection of the rest of the object

Companion's Crest
>this ring slightly bolsters the abilities of an arcane familiar
>if a familiar is bound to it, the familiar can use the ring as a point to regenerate or roam from as if it were their master
>by passing the ring to another or to the familiar itself they might carry it elsewhere to allow for interactions far away from the master

Scoundrel's Loop
>this ring allows the wearer to summon an ethereal gauntlet around the wearer's hand
>the gauntlet counts as a heavy fist weapon and is resistant to most forms of damage
>crafting a focus band on the other hand will allow the ring to extend lesser gauntlets on both hands, and not forbid wearing two rings, as the focus is not innately magical but a relay for the Loop's own magic
>the twin gauntlets lack much of the weight of the single gauntlet but remain fairly resistant

Feather Ring
>this ring can be activated to sprout tiny wings and fly around
>it can barely lift itself and can't obey complex directions
>it's sort of cute though
>can be distracting
>really pretty though

Signet Ring
>this ring can, once a day, summon a cygnet.
>nobody really has that much use for baby swans
>it doesn't even work as a signet ring
>fucking wizards

Lord's signet ring
>works as a signet ring
>the design can be changed by a mundane craftsman
>a seal made by the ring will glow slightly in the presence of the ring
>imitations made of the seal currently housed in the ring will grow hot and melt in the presence of the ring
>looks impressive and offers a minor diplomacy bonus

>Ring of the Demon Lord
Should the user die while wearing this ring, they shall turn into a unique demon lord, albeit around the same amount of power when they were mortal, although nothing is stoppingbyhem from gaining enough to match other demon lords.
This ring has been very sought out for obvious reasons.
>>
Ring of Amazement

>Your character is convinced that they are doing something awesome each time they 'activate' the ring (supported by personal illusions) when they are really doing nothing.

Ring of happiness

>Your intellgence is dropped to 1 and you become a drooling idiot lost in your own mind as you imagine you are playing with a group of super friendly bunnies in a happy meadow living a nice life

Ring of Hugs

>As an action you can stow your weapon, hold your arms wide, and ask if another being 'Wants a hug'. They must succeed a Charisma DC check of 18 or be compelled to embrace you for one minute in a warm embrace. The effect ends if anyone attacks you or your target while in the embrace. While hugging you and your target can take no other action, Be careful when using against those with pointy skin/armor, elementals, gelatinous oozes, wights, or other beings who have a 'bad touch'.
>>
>>44437323
A useless ring that, when put on your finger, makes your finger invisible and attracts otherwordly horrors to your location

If you wear the ring upside-down, it makes you invisible and sends you to an otherwordly realm filled with unimaginable horrors with just your finger in the physical reality, waiting for some passerby to take the ring off
>>
A ring that makes you invisible to everyone except other people wearing non-specific magical rings
>>
A pair of magic rings, if you take one off and look through the center you are shown whatever the wearer of the other ring can see.
>>
Ring of Envy
>wearing this ring alongside any other ring of a value greater than the ring will cause the ring of envy to slowly drain it of magical power or material components when both are left unseen if mundane
>the ring itself does nothing with the magic or components
>if sundered, the ring will release all the stolen magic unpredictably in a burst of wild magic
>>
>>44437323
Earth Ring, gives you the power to control and summon rock.

Fire Ring. gives you the power to control and summon fires.

Wind ring, gives you the power to control and summon great winds.

Water ring, gives you the power to control and summon water.

Soul ring, gives you the power to control and summon any living being up to a certain level.

Directing the power of all the rings into a single location will summon an outsider with awesome hair.
>>
>Ring of faces
Whenever you wear this ring, whatever mask you wear becomes your face.

If you wear a fly mask, you that the face of a fly. If you you wear a mask of a monster, you get the face of that monster. If you wear a gas mask, you get a gas mask for a face.
>>
Ring of 420. Runes glow whenever the wearer is within a certain short distance of some dank kush.

>>
Puzzle ring
>This chunky metal ring is made of many small interlocking rings and cogs
>twisting, flipping and moving the rings around can be achieved by the tiny mechanism
>"solving" the ring involves compressing it down to it's smaller form so that it appears small and seamless
>if solved, the ring will bestow a single finely worked mechanical object with beautiful engraving and unknown makers marks
>it can be anything from a mana crystal powered rotary whisk to a bolt action magitech rifle
>each time it is solved however, the ring grows more complex
>it has currently stumped great fiends, paragons of order and archmages alike
Kind of fun to play with while bored however

Boson's Ring. The bearer is no longer bound to the planet he resides on.

I suggest tricking someone into wearing it.
>>
Cursed Ring of Weight Gain
>>
Ring of Slaanesh

Wearing the ring over an extended period of time, the wearer continually becomes more and more exceptionally talented in just about everything. The drawback, however, is that once every set interval of time, they develop a bizarre and hard-to-satisfy sexual fetish, with the strangeness of said fetish increasing each time. Removing the ring removes and resets all talent gained, but the fetishes stay.
>>
Glutton's Ring

Allows you to eat as much food as you want, but never feel full or have a stomach ache, letting you indulge in all the flavors of a meal.

Removal however, causes the wearer to feel ravenously hungry for a while.
>>
Ring of Nightmares

When worn, if the wearer touches the head of a sleeping person, they will have the worst nightmare they have ever had in their life.
>>

Change sexual fetish to desire. Slaanesh is the patron of the obsessed painter and the music lovers as much as it is the patron of cocaine sniffing nymphomaniacs.

>>
An old one I edited slightly to fit my needs.

>Ring of Unintended Consequences
Rolling a one while wearing this ring negates the effects of catastrophic failure with the inadvertent effect of "Unintended Consequences".

So whatever the player says they want to do "hit a monster", "seduce a guard", etc. will be as successful as rolling a natural twenty with a terrible mishap happening afterwards.
Example:
>Player roles to hit an enemy, they succeed with such force that the weapon goes through the enemy's skull and/or out of their hand and breaks on the next solid surface it hits, destroying the weapon.

Ring of Khorne: Wearer is granted exceptional strength but also insatiable bloodlust

Ring of Nurgle: Grants immunity to just about everything but gives terrifying diseases

Ring of Tzeentch: No one knows what the fuck it even does, but most do know they don't want to.
>>
>Ring of Reversal of Fortune
Causes all Critical Failures to become Critical Successes and vice-versa.
>>
>>44437323
Decoder ring: comes in a variation of values, the more precious it is the better it is at making the wearer able to read encrypted or cryptic messages and codes. Cheap ones might be able to make the wearer read substitution ciphers, for example, while more expensive ones are like anti-Enigma machines in ring form.
>>
Ring of Uselessness. It expels dark matter.

A locking pair of puzzle rings that portal between each other. Whatever goes in the back of one comes out the back of the other, same with the fronts. Give one to a friend talk to each other over distances, throw one in a well and leave one in your water skin to have constant drinking water, or stick one on a pole and look through the other to see above the treeline/around corners.

When they're locked together, they appear to act as a normal ring, but what is actually happening is that when your finger is going through the back of the first ring, it's coming out the back of the second ring, into the front of the first ring, and then out the front of the second ring.
>>
>>44439297
It took me maybe a quarter of a millisecond to think of how that could be used lewdly. Just slip one into a party member's underwear and you've got one hell of a party waiting to happen.
>>
A ring of fire. The outside is cool to the touch, but the inside is red hot. It's actually an entire ring of red-hot metal set into another ring for easy handling. Anything that passes through is heated to the same temperature, letting you instantly boil water or light small twigs or tinder. Or for torture, if that's your fancy
>>
The possibilities are endless! I had to keep rewriting the description because I kept coming up with fantastic uses for two pairs of portals.
>leave one face up in the sun and tie the other into an eye patch. Boom! headlamp for caving.
>Leave one hanging in a tree, put the other in your mouth. You can now breathe underwater.
>wear the eye patch ring and let the ranger shoot arrows through the other one. Arrow vision!
>tie one to your chest, the other to your back, pass a rope through and you have a hands-free zipline

A ring of water, which constantly leaks water unless you plug it with your finger. Will keep leaking water indefinitely, regardless of water pressure, bursting canteens and flooding rooms. Can also stop the water by freezing it
>>
>the Crawling Ring Snake
Turns your arm into a viper that injects a magical venom of fiendish power, negative, energy, holy water, and potent toxins with a command word.
It's still your arm, it doesn't have a mind of it's own.

Canadian_Engineer_Iron_Ring.jpg

A rough, heavy iron ring that constantly wants to spin. It always wants to spin horizontally, around a vertical axis, regardless of it's own orientation. The longer it spins, the harder it is to stop. When worn, it tugs slightly but constantly in its preferred direction of spin (anti-clockwise). When the hand is in the resting position (facing down) and the finger it's on is sweaty enough or too small for friction alone to hold it, it can begin to spin around the finger. If not quickly taken care of, it can sever the finger.

A ring made of fibrous muscle tissue. It's warm to the touch, and constricts slightly around your finger in a rhythmic pattern when you wear it, almost like it's beating

A ring that removes your need for sleep. Take it off though and all that sleep comes back, throwing you into a coma until you make up for all the nights you missed or someone puts the ring back on you.

A clockwork ring, with a band around the middle that slides in a ticking fashion. The wearer always knows what time it is, even deep underground. They also become incredibly punctual and never oversleep. However, they become incredibly irritated, even violent if they're made to be late

The earthring
Once crafted by an earth elemental to grant a young human it befriended his elemental powers.
The wearer permanently learns basic , intermediate and advanced earth-elemental magic.
Should the wearer harm a earth elemental during his life he will loose the powers, age 50 years and loose half of his Constitution stat.

When worn, the ring turns the hand it's on skeletal, with no skin or flesh. This is not an illusionary effect, but despite being nothing but bone, the hand still functions just as well as before. It even retains its sense of touch. The ring cannot be removed unless the wearer wants to remove it.

There is a word written in ancient runes on the ring. When the word is spoken aloud, pale blue flames begin to crawl around the wearer's ring hand. These flames produce no heat and do not burn. If the wearer touches a living being(other than himself, if he's alive), the flames will jump onto that being, then disappear. This produces a mild tingling sensation in the target but otherwise nothing. Make sure to roll a die behind your screen just to fuck with your players, though.

>Ring of censor
This ring can only be removed by someone casting "remove curse"
This ring when worn, teleports the wearer to the plane of timeless thought for five minutes whenever they begin to utter a curse word.

Ring of Secrets
This is a simple mundane ring to any who wears it. However, people around the wielder develop rumors in their heads about the wielder that always turn out true.

Ring of invisibility
When worn, this ring turns invisible.

Ring of the amputee
When place on a severed digit (or against the flesh where a digit used to be) this ring forms an invisible digit that is similar in all way to the original digit, besides being invisible.

Ear Ring
Whoever possesses this ring may grant it to another person. For the next 72 hours, the ring functions as an ear for the person who gifted it.

Ring of Muffling
When worn, all sounds become indistinct, like grownups speaking in th Charlie Brown cartoons.

Ring of the Enchanter
>this incredibly valuable ring fairly pulses with magic energy detectable even to the layman
>when worn, the ring looks really nice
>it has no effect, as it's actually more a magic battery
>it's purpose it to be disenchanted for the resulting residuum that can be used to enchant other objects for actual effect
>the guild of enchanters and associated arcanists developed it as a way to transport the valuable substance easily and secretly
>they might want the one you possess back to keep guild secrets, residuum and gold inside the guild
>but then again, you might want to keep it and use it's potential for yourself

>Ring of unstoppable force

Offers the user borderline invulnerability and incredible speed for 10 seconds, effectively turning them into a human battering ram. A user with high strength and constitution could tear through a stone wall like the shockmaster himself. Give the kool-aid man a run for his money.

>Ring of spirit blade

Instantly forms a crude, weightless ethereal blade wherever the ring finger is pointing, about 18 inches long. Does about as much damage as an exceptional-quality dagger, and can be used as a surprise counterattack in an emergency. Recommended for magic users who don't like being ambushed.

>ring of calamity

Anything within a 10-meter radius must pass a constitution check. anything that fails this, including plants and small animals, dies, and the wearer takes on their vitality to heal himself. if nothing fails a check, or there are no viable targets in range, the wearer must pass the check. if they fail, they take enough damage to fall unconscious.

>Ring of punishment

The wearer's hand, when activated, becomes a crackling conduit for pure pain. Anyone they touch with that hand faces unfathomable agony and cannot move for up to 30 seconds, but they take no damage. must remove the glove or weapon on that hand for the effects to work.
>>
Gonna use any of these OP?
>>
>Ring of Sacred Flame
A golden ring with an empty setting. When worn by a member of the faith a small ignites above the setting. If the flame is lit and the wearer is weilding a weapon in the same hand as the ring all attacks made against evil creatures deal +[appropriate amount] fire damage. If the wielder strikes a good creature the ring deals +[appropriate amount] fire damage to the wearer and the flame is extinguished until the ring is worn by another member of the faith or 1 [day/week/month] has passed.
>>
>Know of the Downtrodden
A ring of coarse hemp twine fastened with a large knot. When worn the ring provides a -5 penalty to rolls when dealing with members of the upper classes, clergy, and military but provides a +10 bonus to rolls when dealing with any members of the lower classes. The ring cannot be removed by normal means. Anytime the wearer succeeds in an interaction where the ring's penalty would be in effect the knot loosens. If the knot is loosened 5 times the knot comes undone, the magic is dispelled, and the ring falls to the floor as a simple piece of twine. The wearer may elect to tighten the knot at any time, doing so resets the count.
>>
Point Ring.

Your character instantly loses all momentum when activated and becomes immovable. The twist is that the character loses ALL momentum. >appearing as a silver blank signet ring, it will display a rune if worn
>this rune is unique to the wearer, and pierces all illusions, you can neither hide your identity from the ring or the rune from sight
>the rune has a connection to the associated person, and describes their true self
>a person seeing their rune may gain sudden insight into their own character, even as it appears as some squiggles to another
>usage of the rune in spells allows it to target the owner as if they had a material possession or body piece like hair or blood
>those skilled in truenaming can use the rune to easily divine their spoken name
>other effects can be done with arcane or divine skill and a personal rune
>doors and objects sealed to any other or only the runebearer, targeting spells from far away or addressing a message so thst it will eventually reach them no matter what
