If you put 100 centipedes in a jar, they will eat each other. The one that survives has grown stronger and larger, and is said to absorb some amount of bad juju from the hellish ordeal.
But suppose you took 100 such centipedes, and repeated the experiment with a bigger pot? You would have a centipede of even larger size, power, and magick.
Now suppose you did it again. And again. And again. Provided you had enough centipedes, and a big enough jar, you could grow something very powerful indeed.
And in the dark recesses of the world, such a fearful undertaking had been in progress. Using a pocket dimension and a very specified Spell of Plenty, the Order of Xiliqtich is growing a horror of unimaginable proportions. There once were ten billion centipedes, then ten billion times that. Now there are only two. Their vast forms strains against the edges of his metaphysical jar. Soon, one will consume the other, and then that final survivor will be unleashed upon the world, to partake of sweeter delights than fellow centipedes.
