WELCOME TO TONIGHT'S BELATED RUN OF KCQ, WHERE THE ROUTES ARE LOCKED AND THE WRITEINS DON'T MATTER! THAT'S RIGHT, THE WRITEINS ARE LIKE 3/4THS OF CHINA'S AIR FORCE INVENTORY!
Please talk among yourselves, ask me questions and/or just generally shitpost while I write the first proper update. I'd especially like to know how everyone thinks the quest is going right now; things you want less of, things you want more of, etc. "More killer less filler" is a given and on the agenda, of course. No, I will not put your favorite shipslut in. Aside from that, fire away.

>>44412267
Personally speaking, I don't mind the dearth of romance (as in passionate scenes) so far in this quest, as in my opinion that takes away from the overall pacing of the story. Still, if you find that you need to add it to keep the waifu idiots from devouring the quest whole, do what needs to be done.
Action would be nice, it will be interesting to see how the Yamato rifle performs in actual combat, as well as how that whole, "capture an abyssal" mission goes. Perhaps this will go hand in hand with the retaking of Iwo Jima.
In case the trolls ever do get to you, know that there are those of us who genuinely want to see the quest go forward and to make the sane choice, even if it is not always the most immediately satisfying choice.
Even so, it is often fun to watch the train wreck happen, so let the update continue!
Well, per instructions by someone else that this needs to be a thing, Imma put this idea out there for the drawfags.
Shipgirl Hockey. BATTLESHIP BODYCHECKS.
Arizona Kronwalls Shoukaku away from Settle with a massive butt-check! Iowa crushes Yamato into the boards! Sammy somehow manages to get charging, cross-checking (to the throat!), and high-sticking penalties as she commits several felonies in brutalizing Shimakaze! Iku takes out Wasp, O'Brien, and North Carolina all in a single massive hit from behind!
...I'd fund it, but I've currently got all of two dollars to my name, so...
>>44412267
Also seeing Yamato finally sortie will be interesting. She'll probably have to sail under American command, using American resources. The shitstorm in Japan is going to be immense.
Toot toot, The final installment of TeleGraf is done.
No, I'm not posting it, yet. Writeups come AFTER the quest is done.
But hold on to your poopers, because this one will be a doozy.
Honestly? I kinda wanna see a bit more exploration of ships like Yuudachi or Willy; ships with significant history that strongly colors their current lives.
>>44412267
Sign that things will be alright. It feels like the whole base is a few bad breaks away from self-destructing at times.
>>44412435

>>44412267
More combat
More mentions of other people handling their responsibilities, and just the scuttlebut around the base
I'd say less waifu baiting but we're already at a good level of 'nope fuck this Goto was right' imo
Joint operations between conventional ships and shipgirls are great I love them
I'd like to hear what all the eggheads are doing with Abyssal wreckage.
Keep on keeping on, but get on with it. Cheers, I'm enjoying myself.

Also, if Hosho ever appears in the quest proper, it will debunk at least one theory that the abyssals are all scrapped or incompetently led ships. Hosho was scrapped in 1946. As for incompetently led, Willie was the epitome of this, so often derided with, "Don't shoot, we're republicans!" amd being assigned the dregs of the Navy, and she still came back on our side.

I think I said aaaages back that Yamato's eventual deployment (and even more so her homecoming) will be a thing of glory and pageantry. If there's one thing that will galvanise Japan, it's Yamato actually fighting in open combat alongside the Americans and her fellow shipgirls.
Also, it's rupture the anuses of the ultranationalists so hard, it'll be hilarious. They'll either have to become more moderate, or committu sudoku for greeeaaaat dishonor!
We'd better see some Imperial presence at her return. I mean god damn, if that doesn't lure his majesty out, NOTHING will.
>>44412374
I swear, if the liberation of Iwo Jima doesn't feature the brave fairies of His Imperial Majesty's Special Naval Landing Forces, I am going to... Be really upset.
>>44412568
Poor Willie indeed, and yet, that's the point. Her story, given the conditions that seem to govern which ship becomes an abyssal, would be a textbook example, and yet she still came back to us. Why?
>>44412596
I mean, assuming that Yamato comes into play through proper channels and not through 'oh fuck another base raid'
>>44412502
Hey, Naka, I've been wondering--how are you taking it now that your latest song's been bumped down the Billboard charts by a bunch of American fairies who dress like an Indian, a cop, a construction worker, a cowboy, a soldier, and a leather fetishist?

How many updates do you think tonight's thread will have? I think it'll be three.
While I don't want to buried in American ships, a CL would be a nice addition. And possibly one of SAMMY's sisters in arms (I'll take Butler). Something to help round out our tiny-ass flotilla.
Also, another round of combat would be fun. Something to hold anon over untill we storm Iwo Jima.

There's something I've been wondering: do Abyssals sleep?
Shipgirls obviously need sleep. If they do, then it follows that they need a place to rest, probably an island base somewhere in the south pacific. If we can find it (say with satellite recon), it would provide us an excellent opportunity to capture an Abyssalor nuke the island and kill them all.

So all those years of playing with barbie dolls really worked out in your favor when you need to make the waifu and self insert do stuff.
"And then they kiss."
“What was all that about?” Shoukaku asks you curiously.
You're still chuckling as you slide back into the easy chair. “Oh, I just got one over on Naka.”
Shoukaku's face goes completely blank. “You... uh...”
“It probably means sex,” Hamp says helpfully. Shoukaku's mouth doesn't quaver, but her eyes widen in horror. Hamp manages to duck under the incoming sofa pillow you loft his way. The occasional 60-year gap in slang terms cropped up with your own shipgirls, but for the most part you recognize all of theirs - they sound dated, but you still know them. With a native Japanese speaker, however, the language barrier was greatly compounded. “No, Shoukaku, that means I got a quip in she had no smartass reply to.”
“Impossible,” Shoukaku says immediately. “She *always* has a smartass reply.”
“She- oh, just look,” you say, handing over your phone. She sets down the pair of coffee mugs in her hand and peers at the screen, scrolling carefully.
“Damn, the hell is this doodad?” Hamp asks. “What th-” he blinks as he gets a look at the screen. “Holy shit.”
“Yeah. Electronics have come a long way in sixty, seventy odd years.”
“Damn,” Hamp says. “I thought those were just really compact radiophones.”
“They are. About fifteen years ago they started adding compact computers to them as well.”
“What, you can crunch numbers on that fucker?” Hamp leans over to look at the underside of the phone, verifying its thin profile.” “Damn. What else can it do?”
“Well lemme put it this way - they put Playboy out of buisness.”
“Playwhatnow?” Hamp squints, then leans over and sniffs the phone. “Ah, hell, it can't possibly. The smell is like half the experience, man!”
Woo, thread! No writeup from me tonight. Part 5 of Deutsch will be interesting, though. That and Navyfag and I were tossing around some ideas that may be in the works.

>We don't even know where they're striking from yet. Could be Atlantis returned; could be huge floating island-ship-fortress things straight outa Red Alert 3; could be portals to the Sanzu River/River Styx for all we know...
This seems odd to me. I thought Abyssal radar returns are the same as their WW2 ship equivalents, it shouldn't be impossible to track them from orbit.
“... what?”
“So kids these days just poke that glass screen and play with a *picture* of play-dough? That's fucked up, man.”
“Hamp-”
“The tactile experience, that unique smell, the thrill of cramming it down the throat of that little shit that won't stop hogging the block bin-”
“HAMP!”
Shoukaku begins giggling as she finishes scrolling through the texting log. “I see what you mean.”
“See?” Hamp says, jerking his thumb at her. “She doesn't like squeezing make-believe doughboys either.”
The long-haired woman blinks, having just tuned into the current chat. “Uh, what-”
“Shoukaku, don't you think squeezing playdough with your hands is better than rubbing your fingers on a flat surface?”
“Wh-what-” she stammers, eyes wide with confusion.
“The SMELL, the TEXTURE, the squishy-wishy,” Hamp elaborates, making grabby motions with his hands.
“N-no!” Shoukaku says, retreating a step and drawing her arms up over her chest.
“What, really? You prefer twiddlin yer fingers on some flat little board-”
“LEAVE ZUIKAKU OUT OF THIS!” Shoukaku snaps.
Hamp retreats a step, palms in the air. “Woah, we got us a banzai here!”
“I - YOU - you I - buh-” Shoukaku stammers as a beet-red flush emerges from her collar and climbs fast for her brow. “I have uh, here's your coffee!” Shoukaku says, picking up the mug from the end-table and thrusting it into your hands before running back into the kitchen.
Hamp sips at his Starbucks and heaves a sigh after her. “Skipper, she's pretty and all, but I wouldn't have kids with any dame'd deny her kids the savage smelly majesty of play-dough.”

The fact that nobody's been reliably able to yet is one of the very, very frustrating mysteries about them. However, the battle of the Bonin Islands was notable in that the bastards actually had a big surface group, and it was found - and they were traveling with oilers and such, indicating a need for logistics that they have never needed before.small raids appear from nowhere for monsteroftheweek division-on-division scale battles, big fleets respect logistics for major fleet engagements

Hamp's our bodyguard and Shoukaku wants the flag, so they'll come along
>>44413499
>and there are girls who've been on base since day 1 who still haven't gotten a line of dialogue.
well clearly they suck who cares about them pff

This kills the admiral
>>44413501
Thank the shou for the coffee too
>>44413499
who?
>>44413407
The deeper problem is Ari blaming Naka for something that was really our fault. If we do something dumb and get hurt again, Ari will blame Naka. This hasn't exactly become a pattern yet, but it is something to be careful of.It's also not healthy for Settle to avoid taking responsibility for his actions like this.
>>44413517
I pity the planefag who has not learnt the glory that is Akebono.
https://danbooru.donmai.us/pools/7980
>>44413501
Oh boy oh boy.
We don't get to ride along on the Blue Ridge?
>>44412893
Kylo Ren please.
Please.
>>44413501
We can explain Porn to Hamp as we travel there
>>44413546
It's both of our faults. We're the one who decided to wander out into the night, but Naka definitely helped, what with the booze. It was a combination of factors.
>>44413573
We're not in charge of the invasion force, so that one's a no-go.
>>44413563
isn't that the mouthy bitch that always sasses the admiral?
screw her o-

This could either be pure awesome or unadulterated suck, and I'm not sure which one would be more fun.
>>44413546
Anon, listen.
I got Settle drunk.
I passed out on his desk.
I goddamn invited the problem in the first place dealing with that clown who tried to hustle me.
She has every right and more to be upset.
>>44413603
YES.
You know you want to do it. Let the kuso flow.
>>44413517
And you wonder why shitposting is so rampant in KCQ threads.
>>44413603
SHITTY PLANEFAG
>>44413563
She gives me an Akeboner
>>44413623
nah, the fault is settles.
You did nothing wrong. Arizona should have blamed us more and not you.
>>44413546
Anon Jesus. You are making mountains out of molehills man.
>>44413623
Settle could have said no, Naka. It is possible to say no to the great and might Naka.
>>44413618
>>44413623
If I take that alcohol away from you, will you die?
>>44413642
Getting your boss drunk is irresponsible at the best of times. I don't think we should be angry, it was a good talk, but it's perfectly understandable for Ari to be angry. Was hitting Naka out of line? Yeah, but like I said these girls have a lower threahold of when violence is appropriate
>>44413603
And closet Naka fan
>>44413672
EMPIRE GET OUT REEEEEEEEE
>>44413623
>I goddamn invited the problem in the first place dealing with that clown who tried to hustle me.
I'm starting to understand why Arizona hauled off and hit you. It might not be for the reason you think.
>>44413722
Settle, get Harder.
He needs to torpedo Naka.
>>44413722
>It might not be for the reason you think.
She is rather selfish and self-centered, isn't she?
>>44413743
>Going for the torpedo first and foremost
>not making themhold hands first
Anon pls
>>44413603
from our shitposts directly to her mouth, see how long she lasts talking that kind of shit in the nation of educational beatdowns

good christ fatgreek how do you deal
>>44413681
I took that alcohol away from me ... god, what was it, a week ago? And I feel dead, so yes.
It has been extremely painful. For me!
>>44413722
Oh, are you? Have you finally accepted she's not looking for Kidd II: Bridge Crew Boogaloo, and she might actually want something from you that isn't orders?

>>44413968
Yeah. Yeah. Keep making that fucking joke.
I don't fucking care. I have an automatic 18.1" Naval rifle fucking firing from a 30 round fucking magazine that shoots damn flat out to 1500 meters. Past that I need a fucking spotter anyway so who the fuck cares.
>>44413849
You're the emotionally volatile cripple who's been there for her since you met, and you keep tripping and landing balls-deep in her heart with your hero routine. You also treat her like more than her legacy, until you consider putting your fly down and your flag up.
You know why she decked me, Settle? Because I made a promise, to her, to her fucking pretty Yankee face, to keep you safe. And I blew it.
She appreciates you like no one else, you stupid bastard. Because you appreciate her for her. She wants you to appreciate the rest.
Prove ME wrong, stumpy.
>>44413980
Hell, for that matter, what of the shipgirls, since Naka's been demonstrated to have been in contact with the other.
I don't know WTF is happening anymore
>>44414018
Think we can find a way to integrate some gun ranging radar onto you?

>>44414058

>>44414146
idk man, i'm working on a parts list right now. It's starting to feel....excessive. Maybe. Probably not idk.
>>44414174
and give advice on spooky shit going on.
We've actually not gotten around to finding out what Shoukaku wanted or needed help with, didn't we?
We should ask her about it soon.
>>44414228
We're never going to get anything done, because the people who are voices of reason can't get their posts in in the first 30 seconds of the vote. By then it's already over.
>>44414228
She wants the D.
>>44414228
Probably her bra.
*Ssssip.*
>>44414245

>>44414241

>>44414259
I'm here all night.
>>44414228
Should ask her about it then. Could do it later when watching the show. Not like we'll be very needed.
>>44414228
shoukaku needs her sink fixed. her pipes are so backed up she almostFUCKED HER SISTER
>>44414228
Whatever it is, it's probably less of a problem than her inability to make decent coffee. With that in perspective, she's better off now than if we had actually dealt with whatever she was going to ask us about.
>>44413623
You deserve to get hit for thinking it's your fault.
You are the worst kind of narcissist.
>>44413889
And yet when anon suggested the same to you you went all 'muh Valhalla' or something.
>>44413981
>famas
>>44414319
Secretary duties include bodyguard. I didn't do that. It's that simple.
>>44414344
Hates just scared what would a kid of shipgirl/human would look like.
>>44414344
Cos-
You fucking know what? Naw. I ain't explaining this shit the fourteenth time. Dipshit.
So, whatever happened to Houshou?
>>44414399
It was all a dream, anon. Just a very bad dream.
>>44414080
>Nagato is fucking your wife.

>>44414263
I'm just tryin' to simplify the problem, is all.
>>44414431
wew lad
>>44414377
I bet half the scientists of the world want to know too. I wonder, will they be more ship, or more human? Will they be able to turn into a smaller version of the original ship? Where do they go if the shipgirl becomes a warship or goes shipgirl in combat? What of the offspring of a shipman?
>>44414228
She can get in line. Hornet's had something to tell us for months now
>>44414473
Pity this won't happen. Since Kongou got a taste for Navy Coffee
>>44414489
Wasn't Hornet ok already?
Anyone ever think there's hardly any focus in this quest?
>>44414058
Role players, man. Just do something else until planefag updates.
>>44414515
Sorry, i was too busy arguing about waifus to pay attention to your post.
>>44414512
Besies the jealousy? Yeah she seems to be doing pretty alright now.
>>44414515
No shit Sherlock. It's what happens when you have a horribly diverse group of readers and being too lazy to offset it.
>>44414361You know beating yourself up like this is just putting you closer and closer to your "sister"'s maw, right?
If you don't stop constantly martyring yourself, cutting yourself into little (bite-sized) pieces again and again and again, you're going to end up drawing her straight to the base with a bunch of her friends in tow.
Feeling guilt is fine. You DID mess up. But part of being a competent human being is knowing not to wallow in self-hatred. You have to pick yourself up and push forward - you don't have to get *over* it, but you do have to get *past* it.
>>44414489
Yea but if a shipgirl comes to us directly, it must be abit urgent already. Thats how things blow up.
And then she just put it aside to look after us first, lack of coffee expertise none-withstanding.
We should ask to find out.
>>44414381
Very good at dishing out, but not great at taking it. I understand your actual point, but making the same play at settle is hypocritical, Marine, when you refuse to do the same.
>>44414361
Now you will never be able to react the scene from The Bodyguard while singing a Jackson song.
>>44413931
...we still haven't gotten our shit from the post office, have we?
>>44414593
>>44414593
Why is Goto watching an anime about Kongou?
>>44414582
Because the same play doesn't fucking apply, dingus. I have one girl that is like family to me and one that's my fucking Valkyrie. that's fucking it. Not two ships that are openly and clearly after my dick. I have to fucking say this every fucking time you fucks start talking about dicking warships. A motherfucker and a bitch can have a close fucking relationship that not only doesn't fucking involve sex, but sex is with the other is fucking disgusting to think about.
>>44414515
nah mate.
you're comparing it to curated archives of old quests with all the anon shiptoasting cut out, tiny questlets where only five to ten anons actually post, or forum quests where everyone lives in fear of the ding dong bannu.
