This is what happens when some of the players are "new enough" to keep asking the DM what they should do in any given situation but the DM is lazy.

The murder hobo reproduces by budding and does not feel fear, sadness, or regret as he burns your house to the ground and takes everything that was once yours.
He's normally a pretty good GM but there are some occassions where NPC's really should be cooperating with us (because it is in their best interests or they owe us or we're threatening them), and he will always stumble through a load of "we can't tell you that for... reasons" bullshit because there are no brakes on the storytrain.
He just needs to learn to be more flexible with his storytelling I think. He can be a bit too generous with loot though (which is handy because me and him usually cycle GM and I'm an utter bastard with loot and the party will usually have less stuff at the end than they started with).

I just started playing with this DM, and I can't tell if he wants us to just be murderhobos or not. He's made fun of some of our players fighting things without trying other avenues to bypass situations, then throws nothing but fucking gelatinous cubes and gnomes who refuse to negotiate, and plays to the one party member who just wants to blow everything up because it's "how his character would act".
I pray he's not awarding advancement based solely on enemies slain.

No matter how dumb he enemy may be, they always possess some modicum of intelligence/reason, and generally a bit more verbose than they ought to be.

I am the only one who uses it as we use otherwise exclusively use text/voice.
You see, it's the only way I can keep shooting my players disgusting shit grins without saying anything when they are trying to come up with an idea or planning something.
This really adds a layer of immersion and when used properly makes one player a bit disturbed so I'd say it does work.

It's never been graphic, but everyone knows what's happening. Some people aren't too bothered, and I've recently left that group. His grasp of mechanics (regardless of the system) are loose at best while the group is a bunch of good-spirited mechanics nerds, and he has a tendency to be completely lost as we quick-search the rulebooks and offer up the relevant rules for his perusal. He also tends to forget things between sessions and watch his planned plots go sideways as we chase shopping trips and personal goals instead of biting the plot hooks. Somehow we still have a ton of fun every time despite the horrific rate at which we run campaigns into the ground and have to start again from mostly-scratch.

The group FINALLY broke into the castle and recovered some people kidnapped by an evil cult, but they also got manipulated into setting a succubus free.
