Claymore is best waifu sword, unless you're too scared to get close or out from behind your flat-chested shield.
Try fighting skellys with a spear. Claymore can thrust slash and bash. Spear can thrust or be a quarterstaff.

That's true of pretty much all swords. In their time they were just "sword", and the name we give them is there to distinguish them from every other sword.

thats a bit like posting a photo of a Messerschmittt ME109 calling it a "German Spitfire".
That is a early basket-hilted sword of Styrian origin. (Probably you could argue that its a basket-hilt of Styrian style with a schiavona-esque hilt, or a variant of Norman type 73 or type 56 hilt. (though A.V.B. Norman's typology is crap, which is why no-one uses it.)
A claymore (in those terms) is a basket-hilted sword or basket-hilted backsword of anglo-scots origin, with regional "ribbon" hilt construction.
Just having a basket-hilt does not make it a "claymore", any more than a car for offroad is a "jeep".
