here's my Favorites:
--West End RPG. it was off center, but in those days, it was what we had...and, we made LEGENDS with that shit.
--the Decipher round1 card game...the one where each card was a force point.
--X-Wing, but i have to say, you gotta fix obstacles rules, and only play with Big Ships if on a 8x6 table or something with 12' deep deploy zones...

--D20 star wars needed mods, we modded it a lot
--the WotC plastic mini's game was evil...fuck, was it evil.... at least it had the only Basilisk War-Droid Models in the universe.
--i haven't played a lot of the new shit, post 2010-ish.

there has never been a perfect Star Wars game.

I wanted to play a game set more during the prequel's time. Maybe not during the Clone wars but before.

An idea I had for a character once would have been a Jedi that was taught outside the temple. Mystics of a race that were force sensitive. One line being taught by a Jedi that had left the order some time ago and began a direct line of teacher to students of the force.

I have used GURPS and it worked pretty well. The powers are pretty easy to do since they all exist in some form or another in the books, though if you want something that handles some sort of Light/Dark or Law/Chaos balance within the system itself I wouldn't do it.

We did a game of a six man Imperial Commando squadwith a Sith adjacent set back during the old republic. Went pretty well until they accidentally the whole ship.

Trying to improve D20 systems is a waste of time. They are all shit.

Good ole WEG's "Star Wars D6". You might want to mod it a bit, especially if you want a Jedi-centric campaign, but it's still the best SW RPG out there.

They know they don't really have to but subconciously they are still always ready to salute and give full report at any point of any given day. They think in mental journals.

Whenever they encounter a problem they are automatically informing their superior (or whoever that can even vaguely fit the criteria) about It before attempting to solve It

We had one. It was a major show of incompetence

Highlights of the game included sergeant failing at reading the map, resulting in the squad breaking in the local bounty hunter guild via demolition charges instead of the cantina where the rebs were supposed to be hiding (14 bodybags including one player), shooting an escaping rebel transport with a one-in-a-million-years shot, sending it to crash into the local marketplace (~150 bodybags), and failing to prevent the rebel cell from stealing the power core of the ancient superweapon; said superweapon being instable once its power source is removed, we lost the excavation site (9 bodybags - 5 rebel elite commandos and the full party). It was still considered an imperial victory since we were actually pretty good at digging intel and exposing traitors outside of combat, and rooted out a good chunk of the Alliance network on the planet. Except that time when we executed a pair of undercover ISB agents.

Try it, it's easy to do an imperial Edge of the Empire/Age of Rebellion game

They just released a new campaign box for Imperial Assault. It's called Return to Hoth.

3 new heroes, including a Mon Calamari sniper (pic related) and droid medic.

Snowtroopers, Wampas, HK Assassin Droids and other new enemies.

Bigger and better missions, from the looks of things.

If campaign mode isn't your thing, there is lots of new skirmish content, including 4-player rules. There is one four-player free-for-all mission and one two-vs-two mission. FFG also recently errataed (read: nerfed) the figures that were causing a stale skirmish meta.

I'm not really up to date on the new lore, but in the old one my favorite idea would be to play as Imperials not long after Endor. Do you go independent, hook up with other warlords or stay loyal to the retarded regime on Coruscant? (assuming it develops anything like in EU)
In my mind you would play as members of a Star Destroyer on outer rim patrol, with players taking up different roles, as the Captain, the on board ISB/gestapo political officer, TIE wing commander, Stormtrooper commandant, and so on. Shit would be cash.

Post-Endor I would probably not go for a Star Destroyer. A Carrack or the Assault Carrier that FFG just released for X-Wing would be plenty big, and you would still need to be careful around other Imperials who *do* have Star Destroyers.

There are four armed giants who spend their childhood and teenage years as six legged wolves, and I've seen races in some of the graphic novels that look like they were pulled straight of of Furafinity, not to mention some races are literally just cat people.

Make up a new race, Star Wars is huge enough for you to make up a new species for your character, and it lets you come up with your culture on your own.

If he was raised through traditional methods and stayed on the light side they probably wouldn't bug him more than they'd bug whoever was training him.

The council is sort of famous about being super picky about shit and would probably consider any Jedi trained outside the temple as potentially having a higher risk of failing, whether that was the case or not.

Yes.
Did a mixed Rebellion-era game with it back when AoR was still in beta, now currently in a KOTOR-era game using it.
It's the shit. Characters are balanced regardless of whether they're smugglers or soldiers or Jedi, the system is a great change from a simple "you succeed/you fail" approach to dice rolling.

The only real downsides are space/vehicle combat can get lethal and feels a bit off if you're used to having shields actually soak up damage, and if you want to do something set in a different era from Rebellion/early New Republic/Clone Wars you need to do some homebrewing and reskinning.

The Empire secretly knew the rebels were going to attack, but given that many spies had died in the process of gaining info on DS2, shouldn't the rebels have realized that the Empire probably knows the they will strike, and therefore the fact that the DS2 has been left undefended is probably a trap?
And why the hell didn't Darth Vader just capture shuttle Tydirium in a tractor beam like he was going to do with the Millenium Falcon in ESB?
