Which traditional game system has the best rules for playing vampires?
>>44320968
Masquerade.
>>44320968
Requiem.
>>44321069
Newfag.
>>44321077
Well at least I don't have shit taste.
>>44320968
>Which traditional game system has the best rules for playing vampires?
It depends on what you wish to do. Can you give us some details?
>>44321123
Oh please, Requiem is complete cancer. At least Masquerade has genuinely interesting factions with motivations beyond "lol evil"
>>44320968
>best rules
GURPS
>>44320984
>>44321069
Masquerade had the better background
Requiem had the better rules
>>44321134
pay a vampire
>>44321155
>>44321200
And OP asked for the best rules.
4e is the only system where you can play a triple vampire.
>>44321235
Do. Explain.
>>44321200
>Requiem had the better rules
As of 2ed it may be true. First edition was horrible.
>>44321249
In 4e there is a Vampire race, a Vampire class and a Vampire theme. You can technically take all of them and be a triple vampire. It's somewhat ridiculous.
>>44321256
how good is it though
>>44321256
You can also take the dhampir feat for more vampire
>>44321253
I'm madly in love with what they did for 2E.Tides me over the total fuck-up that'll be CtL 2E.
>>44321210
Okay. Requiem then.
>>44321280
Let's mot forget Revenant Shifter Vampire with Deva heritage for a Zombie Werewolf Vampire Nephilim.
>>44321265
Decent
>>44320968
Good-guy vamps or terror vamps?
>>44321200
>>44321155
Masquerade completely missed the atmosphere it was intending to go for though - it turned into vampire superheroes with no real horror, personal or otherwise. Which is exactly why a lot of people like it, but I prefer Requiem actually making an effort to humanise the Kindred and not go so over the top - it's impossible to take Masquerade seriously unless you're like a B-movie actor who's used to this shit.
>>44320968
Krul is cute.
The setting built around Requiem is dull as hell, boring, not as much room for conflict. Masquerade>Requiem on that alone, it's that uneven a strength.
That said, at least consider D&D third edition. There's a vampire template there, you can just slap that on everyone and have fantasy adventure.
>>44321681
>d&d 3e
>>44321579
I think you either have a shitty group or never played Masquerade like it was intended. It handles psychological horror and "no John, you are the monsters" in a way that's infinitely superior to Requiem.
>>44321285
why requiem
>>44320968
Double Cross
>>44322310
>why requiem
It is a game that solidly supports a number of play styles with -as far as ST system can at least- rather decent rules.
>>44322317
Oh DX. I'd love to play it one day.
>>44321681
The whole point of Requiem (and nWoD/CofD in general) is that its a sandbox/toolset for you to build your own intrigue and plot. If you find the setting "dull" and "boring" that's less a fault of the game and more likely you and your group not having an ounce of imagination and needing WW to spoonfeed you metaplot

G͔͔͖̤͙̑́̇͟U̢͔̖͖͍͙͖̺͎͗͘̕R̶̴̡͙̔͂̿̾P̦͙̠͓̠͔͖ͫ̓S̖͕͕͈̝̬̋͆̉̎͝ͅ
Masquerade has rules for playing as a little vampire girl
>>44320968
DnD
>>44323646
i doubt that
Requiem 2e, rules to play most kinds of vampires you could wish for and if you're that butt-blasted that it's not the 90s anymore and casuals are ruining your games, then you can play Masquerade.
>>44324728
They have a child template.
>>44320968
FATEBut that's because there are no inherent rules for vampires but the system's designed to be modified by the DM to fit whatever he wants
>>44320968
Fate.
Also, that picture makes me think of periods.
>>44321681
>not as much room for conflict.
>All the Covenants are at odds by default in VtR
>Everyone belongs to the Camarilla by default in VtM
>not as much room for conflict in VtR
>>44325036
where?
>>44326745
in VTM, being in the camarilla meant jack shit since you could come into conflict with anybody, even those of your own clan.
>>44321681
>3e
Op asked for BEST rules, not WORST.
>>44320968
Dungeons the Dragoning, as with everything.
