So Here are the New Updated Rules:

1. Game Change: Switching each turn to a season, I think this is going to make things a lot better.

2. I will launch each season with a random event based on tables I have.

3. For you to take a valid turn you must link the new season random event and use the following format.

"Research"
"I want to research this type of technology"
(include a 1d20 roll if you wish to research)

"Build"
"I WIsh to build this random thing"
(No role required but you must have appropriate material)

"Trade"
"These are the trades I agreed upon last season"
(You can make as many as you want but they do not take effect untill you list them in your action the following turn"

"Citizen/people"
"I want to explore this/attack tha/ Build ships"
(This is how you use your population, Note exploring territory does not make it yours untill you sieve it with troops.)
First turn to follow, I will not be able to reply to your turns till 11:30 am EST

DO NOT BLOW UP THIS THREAD WITH TRADE, UNTILL I RETURN USE THE GENERAL

If I come back to over 100 replies over trade deals I will not be able to catch up and run the game Properly.

1. Research
I want to research Aerial Sailing

I want to build a sky port in Northern Soul's capital

We cross the sea in our flying contraptions to the land of Northern Soul, to build a Sky Port in their lands, so that we may begin even faster trade unimpeded by waters or distance

3. Trade
>Information on Root Cellars was traded to Northern Soul for Tracking and Survivalism

4. Citizen/people
I want to mine for additional gemstones in our mountains

In about 16 minutes, I can sacrifice a fish stick and fight a cat, will that do?

>>44169931
Hmm. My capital tends to face poor weather, comrade. Perhaps you could build the skydock at 10,1 or so instead? I could integrate it into the larger port town to be built there then

>>44169391
RESEARCH improving our compasses.

BUILD I don't really need to build anything. I guess we run a check on the canals and highways to see how they're doing, if that's acceptable as an alternative.

TRADE: I send the 100 horses agreed upon to Lenqus.

PEOPLE: We prepare for a maritime and coastal survey. Seaweed, currents, piracy, reefs, wrecks, deep water, ocean life, unexplored islands, whatever.

I'm going to circle the area of survey on the map; it's basically from [11]'s western coastal city up to the Great Pirate Island.
>>
>>44170274
Have you forgotten our trade, good sir?
>>
>>44170286
Well, maybe I have misunderstood this.

I said that shoing the horses would take one season. You told me that you didn't want me to shoe the horses traded to you. Therefore, you got them last season.

Okay, you put your limestone and marble to good use, you now can build walls and buildings with the best of them, note fortification is a separate tech.

COnsider your fort built

You do not find any coal in your lands

No it gives you as much wood as you need you dont have to collect it, at least in the current rules

>>44169479
Where do you want your canals? You can big giant trenches but without research they wont be like albatross's nice stone lined canals.

>>44169585
You have learned to craft beautiful cannons! in fact their aim is so precise your generals cant believe it!

Consider your fort built, you want it where your town is?

Okay, you can have 15 steel plated dreadnoughts, how are they armed?

>>44169875
{hey im in cinder now lol}

>>44169923
Your medical research fails
Okay, you construct a wondrous jeweled palace, the nomads are in awe,
You can conscript 1000 infantry this turn but make sure you arm them next turn.

>>44169931
Wow, your air sails have come along way since their prototype! You learn the secrets of how to climb up drafts and ride the wind, how ever you are at the mercy of that very same wind.

Okay the skyport is built

Okay, your mine goes up to full capacity.

>>44170515
Dreadnoughts are armoured vessels, armed with a profusion of Ballistae and the means to project Yumatsu Fire a long distance. I also believe they will be the key to our victory over the Pearl Isle Cannibals.

My plan is simple. At your agreement, I will send a detachment to bombard one island. Given the firey nature of the projectiles and the forests, it will be brutally effective.

Then I will offer them a chance to surrender. This will progress until they either cease to exist or surrender and recant their cannibalistic ways.

Alongside this, we will mutually research how to attach my cannons to your tanks. My architecture knowledge ought aid in working out the load distribution.

In exchange for this, I will have looting rights to the islands I clear for 1 season, after which they will become yours, and you will either trade me tanks or the technology to make my own, though of course you need not reveal the full extent of your mechanical knowledge.

Are you amenable, comrade?

Ah shit

This turn, now that I have knowledge of fermenting from Northern Soul, I research it further to find out what I have that I can make fermented products from

I build a foundry in my own nation

I have received horses from Albatross, and medicine from Camaro, which will prove useful immediately

Then I use my new foundry to outfit my army with steel polearms instead of the iron they have been using

My lands are safe from the plague! Wonderful!

Op, can I assume all my trades from the general are now complete or do I need to wait for everyone I traded with to confirm them?

Also, my turn:
Research: Begin to research combining Greenlands Tanks and my Cannons (Roll Attached)

Build: Construct a port on my southernmost cost. 1,10 I think is the reference?

People: Send 10 Dreadnoughts, 40 Ships and 2960 troops to guard them to the northernmost island of the Pearl Isle Cannibals. Carry out bombardment from off-shore locations once Greenlands troops are safely extracted.

Well, Y16 is only barely in my nation, and it's right in the mountains. I reckon we have time to at least trade for medicine.

I'm going to lock down trade to plague-ridden countries for two seasons to prevent the plague from arriving with merchants.

Now then,

RESEARCH: Improving our compasses.

BUILD: More ships. (We have knowledge of shipbuilding, and then a natural-20 improvement on our knowledge)

PEOPLE: It's time to get on and take that survey.
>>
Rolled 9, 10 = 19 (2d20)

We shall research medicine to deal with this plague. Build new weapons for my forces and jewel studded armor for my veterans renaming them the Blades of Zaz and normal for the new infantry. I shall also invite the leaders of the nomads to come visit our opulent palace and show and new glorious army. Showing them the majesty they too could enjoy if they would only submit.
Rolling for research then diplomacy.

1. Research
Let us work on a Gem and Gold Based currency, as those are two of the more common precious items used globally. By establishing a currency, we have a means to accurate manage purchases and sales concerning good and transport, allowing us to govern fair prices and shipping costs, and puts us well on our way to becoming proper sky merchants.

2. Build
A hospital. Somewhere near our Postal Station at the capital, where we can more easily apply the medicine we are importing from Greenland, and as well, ensure that all skyships entering or leaving our lands have a clear bill of health.

Not to mention the dastardly summer plague. Curses!

3. Trade

Winter is upon you.

Chill autumn winds turn into freezing gales and snow falls from the sky.

All the water above y5 freezes into ice,

While in Lenqus Vilencia and Mals thick snow falls and in Camaro and Nourthern soul the snow gets 10 feet deep!

For Greenland and all the tropical jungles it becomes monsoon season, heavy rain pounds your shores for months at a time.

In the southern Mountains of Hill and wood to the commonwealth the water dries up, leaving the land dry and parched.

Rolls:
1-6 Trade grinds to a halt as severe weather makes it far to dangerous

7-11 Regular Winter, its cold and harsh but everyone with food stores does okay

12-14 Hurricane In the South! all nations being affected by the monsoons lose 20% Navy

15-17 In the far north it becomes to unbearable, animal herds are cut in half for everyone above y12

18-20 Harsh Winter, everyone loses 10% population

Don't side with the hillbillies, join the glorious Baroxy Commonwealth and reap the riches of this earth
>>
>>44173545
10 feet deep? Pah, nothing we aren't used to already.

I rely on my stored foods, stockpiled drink and newly acquired Winter Clothing and stockpiles of Coal to ride out the winter.
Actions:
Research:
I want to look into improving our weaponry.

Build:
I wish to build Root Cellars stocked with Ice

People:
I will have my forces already at the Northern Pearl Isles scour the land for what they can find of value that they may transport it back to us in the Spring.

Okay, for reason I cant actually reveal your home base, as that would be bad for you.

You are the pirate lord of a might armada, last winter you were defeated but slowly you have been sailing the seas rebuilding your pirate crew.

You have 5 Strong ships each with stolen canons

You have 5 ships with stolen balistae and
2 of those ships are carrying Yamatsu Fire (think greekfire/wildfire)

Along with that you have 120 Good ships armed with men wielding bow and arrow and a mix of steel and iron weapons.

These are your technologies,
Ship Building and repair
Food gathering (allows you to not starve without a food resource)

You have no resources

You start in the sea south of Greenland.

>>44173487
Ah the desert Nomad, You have been at war with the commonwealth and peace talks with your neighboring two nations in the past year.

Your population is 5000 but you have a special trait where all your men are warriors

You have 2000 Veteran camel Calvary wielding iron spears and 500 Desert Archers.

You control the valuable camel herds of the south desert, These are your resource

Iron
Camel Herds
Dessert Goats (your main food source)
You also know the location of a fallen stone from the heavens, deep in the desert

These are your technologies
Water Finding
Camel archery
Dessert Survival
Iron Working

Alright, so for this season

We know of fermentation and have milk. Therefore, with a little research, we should be able to start producing cheese and yogurt and such.

We start work on building railways along the highways.

And lastly, I have men survey the hills. As of now, we only know of iron there, but there may be more we are unaware of.

Your attempts at researching weapons fails, it must be to cold.

You build root cellars as you were shown how, greatly extening how long food is preserved for.

>>44173657
Okay, your research does not make them STRONGER only faster, and with a steam engine it can now wind itself, however like all wind up toys to turn it must stop, rotate and re-wind itself, therefore still requiring a 2 man team, the man inside is now called a "Pilot"

Your research facility is built, and the island has already been abbandoned

Also I'm blown away by how many people cant yse x,y coordinates. X is the horizontal coulomb meaning you go right first, y is the vertical column

>>44173682
Hmm once again your attempt to creat better weapons goes poorly, you do not improve upon your designs.

Your forts and cities have now been rebuilt using marble and limestone.

>>44173689
Your research fails and you lose 100 population as miners who dug to deep become trapped, presumably eaten by a balrog.

Okay, your starting to push the strains of your military copacity without research, you raise 1000 militia.

I'll Roll the battle in a moment,

Okay You errect wooden pallisades and trenches around your cities, as I believe you lack any stone work or fortification skills yes?

Your military becomes slightly more disaplined.

>>44173930

Oh no I saw it but never replied

You failed improving your compasses,
You arm all your ships with balistea
Okay that coast of yours you find salt again and there are no resources but rich schools of fish there.

You can take a winter action also

>>44173941
Your first attempts at advanced fishing to not pan out. As in nothing is in the pan and your people are hungry

Ah, You find a rich bounty of rubber trees on that island. As well as venomous snakes,

I forgot to tell you, you also have 1000 infantry spread over your ships in addition to the crew, they are a rag tag bunch with everything from copper to steel weapons

>>44173950
Hmm you produce some cheese but it is truly awful and the wrong kind of smelly, congradulations you get the tech "bad cheese"
Your construction begins and will take 2 seasons.
You uncover two more sources of Iron, making you the second most iron rich land.

>>
>>44174683
Yeah, it get's hectic. I know that feel.

This is the reason bigger games are sometimes easier to host in a "one giant post" update where you write up all the updates in a doc, and then post them at once, and then a little breathing room to see if "I missed anyone". At least that's how I find it easier. But you're doing good OP.

Oceania got his reply, now he can make up a winter action.

Alright then, my winter action is going to be:

RESEARCH: Compasses, again.

BUILD: Maintain our infrastructure.

PEOPLE: I send a group of sailors and armed men to area around the pirate islands which I've bounded with pink lines in pic related.

They're to survey, salvage treasure and technology from the sea and land, make contact with the pirates and other forces in the area and do anything advantageous to Albatross.
