She is a shortening of a longer prefix that clarified that "he" now applied specifically to a female. It is only in the last twenty years or so that it has become a moral imperative that men and women not share the basic pronoun in print.
Man was once gender neutral as well, with prefixes dictating what precise sort of man it was, including wifeman (a married woman) or spearman (a man who fights) or just fucking man (a person of the race of men with no sex implied)

I used to play with a DM who did things like this, but way more contained - giving people fire hands and soul splices and weird weapons.
You see how bad the dwarf looks? How he's barely recognizable as a character behind all the weird blotches of color? That's how it feels playing a character like that. Those are not characters, just vehicles for whatever crap the DM has cooked up this week.

IIRC, dude in your pic was a fighter and not only could his weapon not hurt paladins, his magical armor was tied to the axe as well. When he was disarmed and Ears grabbed the axe suddenly Ears got a magic weapon and armor, while Caine was left with nothing.
Chip and Dale's Rapist Ranger was a suboptimized ranger build who didn't use his animal companion and who in-universe was primarily hurt by being on fire for several rounds while fighting a minmaxed fighter with an allowable DM backed by a cleric.

It occurs to me that Forgath actively worships the DM as a god and that he's being played by a girl as discovered back in the weird time dungeon.
Logically, all the other characters (Goblin party, Dies, Minmax, Kin and Forgath, and that one party that keeps dying horribly) are PCs.
So either the DM has all these people sitting at the table trying to run each story separately (Which would make sense if you think of these bullshit cliffhanger scene jumps being trying to appease complaining players) or that the DM has multiple days where he runs this game with occasional overlap when stories collide and he brings everyone together.
The DM is horrible at pacing and at some point there was a massive gap in the game because the DM had some sort of anxiety attack/mid life crisis and disappeared.
Now that he's back nothing makes any fucking sense because the notes are gone or all over the place so, with lack of prep and inability to improvise he just starts injecting his fetishes everywhere in some attempt to salvage it.
Suddenly the steady and then massive quality drop makes sense.
