'Sup /tg/, it's friday night and I'm bored out of my skull so I figured I might as well share a hobby of mine with you lot. We'll be using the 1d4chan faction gen tables with a bit of a twist. Basically, you roll as usual except by chaining together allies and enemies, so for example an IG regiment with CSM enemies would be followed up with creating a CSM warband and so forth. For added fun we do this with even destroyed factions in the deeds of legends, creating a rich history to play around in and fluff to our content. Repeat until we reach a dead-end.

For a planet with a population of 120 Billion people, a 10 million people standing army seems kinda small... it comes out to only one solder for ever 12000 civilians. For an example, in 1997, there were about 22,300,000 solders just on Earth, with a total population of 5,898,688,337 (1 solder for ever 264.52 civilians)

PDF, so even worse breed than usual. For comparison, imagine the average IG trooper is that idiot hillbilly from across the street who shoots empty beer cans with a .22. The average PDF "trooper" is like that hillbilly's dumbass uncle who knows nothing about trigger discipline or firearms safety, even if he isn't drunk as a skunk (which he is every time you see him, which is also usually when he's supposed to be working).

IIRC in older fluff they were also described as the "black world," and apparently got ate by the Tyranids, though that may be retconned now.

Not sure if it's a legit "trait" of a world they named after British Birmingham or a really racist caricature of Birmingham, AL.

Hmm, It ocurred to me that the planet is particularly devout to the idea of the perfect human form, and new citizens are cloned from a few inquisitor-aproved, zealous lineages.

Any which shows defects and deformities are rejected, and put into the PDF to prove their worth, for only death can compensate for their failure in meeting the standards of the Emperor.

Those use tankettes, fighting their enemies on the vast harvest plains of their planet, even striking from inside corn fields.

Perhaps they have technical-like tractors?

I think of the whole thing as a planet-scale inquisition experiment, breeding chaos-resistant humans.
>>
>>43863576
Perhaps because of the chaos scarring chaos marines left on it, or some local malignant influence that CM want to harness.

Tankettes could be a cheap counter to power armored enemies, although only working on 5-1.
>>
>>43863462
If they're buddies with a Rogue Trader, maybe their planet is rarely visited by Imperial ships. It's just s little difficult to get to. Maybe a couple semi-permanent Warp storms en route or something. Just not worth it until they hear about the chaos incursion.
But Rogue Traders? They can and will go everywhere for a profit. The Trader is the sole source of news from the direction of Terra. Bringing luxury goods in exchange for the agri-world's tithe surplus. Or hey, maybe they wrangled the contract to be the food tithe's logistics company. Even less Imperial traffic.
The planet really wants to be recognised by Terra and the Imperium though, poor things.

>>43863634
Tanks are pretty much the only thing that would even be worth a damn against CSM in s PDF arsenal. Pretty lucky for the planet they got them.

>>43862816
How's about... they trick enemy forces into thinking they're an easy, rich target, then use the tanks and other military supplies they've bought from the rogue trader family in exchange for transporting the food tithe to kill 'em? Like creepy slasher hillbillies luring in tax collectors and teen campers, except with space pirates.

I'm imagining the Rogue Trader selling military scraps to them, at exorbitant rates. Which they fix into their civilian vehicles as best as possible.

The elite could be confederate-like, commanding gangs of slaves from their fortified manors through vox. Tankettes carrying assault cannons, pneumatic mortars that fire krak grenades and much belief.

So, before we continue with the Chaos marines, to summarize the fluff people have come up with:

>They're an Inquisitorial experiment to breed pure humans resistant to the taint, via selective cloning and genetic alteration, located in the farthest colonized reaches of Ultima Segmentum.
>The ones that come out right live a pampered life of luxury from within heavily fortified manor-fortresses. If they come out with the slightest bit of mutation (though this is rarely the case, as most either come out flawless or horrifying to behold,) they're enslaved and made to plow the fields 'till death.
>In case of attack (something both classes look forward to), the slaves have been trained to jury rig field equipment with overpriced military scraps bought from the local rogue trader that ships their tithes, with a focus on operating armored vehicles. They wait until the time is right to launch quick assaults on vulnerable enemy positions from within the vast cornfields dotting the planet, which usually happens if newcomers to the area make the mistake of focusing on breaking through the mansions' defense systems and leave no defenses on their flanks.
>They've been raised from birth to believe that they can still be redeemed and prove even the mutants of their planet are mighty servants of the Emperor by unyielding zeal with both lasgun and plow, so revolution is an uncomprehensible thought for most. Though, the frequent Chaos raids the past few cycles have begun to leave their mark on the already naturally corruptible minds of the defenders...

Any more suggestions, objections? Anything I forgot?
