Information: After a daring raid against Frieza's control tower on Planet Vegeta, Daikon and his crew were able to obtain maps of the known galaxy, while Kamatsuna was able to acquire blueprints for a healing tank, as well as information on the pods Saiyans and Frieza's men use to travel. Now, Daikon's team travels far into unknown territory, hoping to establish an empire in the stars beyond Frieza's reach.

Welcome to Saiyan Quest. This takes place shortly after the war against the Tuffles, as the Saiyans look for more foes to battle in the absence of their old enemies.

Voting will operate on a first to five system, at least for the time being.

Dialogue is allowed to be added to votes, as are actions (though I'll ignore what I consider shitposting)

During battles, options will usually have a number assigned to them. After that vote has won, players will roll a d100, and have three chances to match or beat that number.

If a 100 is rolled, it is considered a crit success (unless 100 was the number you had to match).

If a 1 is rolled, it is a crit failure, regardless of whether or not the other two rolls are high enough to succeed.

If, during a battle, players want to attempt a writein action, that is allowed, but I am the one who will assign the number to it, so use caution

You're a young male Saiyan who fought in the war with the Tuffles. You are an average fighter for now, but have the potential of one of the greatest warrior races to roam the universe flowing through your veins. There is no limit to what you can accomplish through blood, sweat, and tears.

It occurs to me, if my dialogue was chosen last thread to boost the DC to 100, we may have zenkai'd above Rug for the beating she'd have given us.

Did Karmasutra bring the combat drugs? I'm hoping she did but I'd be fine if we had to leave them behind
>>
>>43792447
I think she brought all her research with her, we just need to get her a kick-ass lab.
>>
So it occurred to me that when we fight them back, our first targets would be King Cold and Cooler. Also by leaving Frieza's empire we have to deal with factions that would stay away from them, such as Galactic Patrol.
>>
>>43792482
We're probably going up against the Galactic King.

Hey, can you reveal the DCs only when we have to roll, and advertise actions as (Tough) or (Gonna have to be miraculous on this one) or (Easy-peasy)?

You open your eyes to see that you've finally arrived at some planet in god knows what corner of space.

Your entire body feels stiff, and you can't wait to get out and stretch your legs. Your quickly radio everyone to let them know you're arriving, and the six pods descend toward the planet's surface.

There's no landing pad waiting for you, so the ship's create quite a noticeable boom when they reach the surface, and when your pod opens, you step out into a deep crater.

You rise to the surface and look around, not particularly thrilled by what you find.

The planet's an absolute dump. There's no grass or trees as far as you can see, though you do spot some ruins in the distance, indicating that there was at least once some kind of civilization here.

You notice bones scattered around, but they look to have been here for at least a few months.

"Well, this place seems nice," Rugula comments sarcastically before activating her scouter.

You do the same, and the device alerts you that there are few power levels to be found on the planet. However, they are all substantial, and located in the same general vicinity.

Your scouter tells you that there are only a dozen other lifeforms on the planet, each sitting at around a thousand.

Kamatsuna begins collecting scouters, sitting by her pod and tinkering with them for a few moments.

"We're going to need those back," Rugula tells her.

Kamatsuna nods. "I know, but it's better if we can communicate without Frieza's men listening in."

"Well, how long's this gonna take?" Sabi asks.

"Probably about half an hour," she answers.

You decide to head in the direction of the power levels you previously detected while Kamatsuna works.

You take to the sky, and one by one, the others follow, save the scientist who continues her work in silence.

The five of you speed over the barren planet, flying over city ruins littered with bones and rubble, empty plains devoid of any life, and so on until you find yourself hovering over a ruin, staring down at some sort of alien creature.

It has its back turned to you, but it has green skin, bumps along its spine, a snout like a lizard's, and clawed hands.

Its back is turned to you, and you don't see any others with it.

"Hey, wanna join us in conquering more planets?" you ask the alien.

The creature turns toward you, looking up at you with cold eyes.

"You speak to me about conquest?" it hisses. "My people have conquered many worlds already. What could you pink hairy creatures do for us? You are small and weak."

"Weak, huh?" Rugula asks, gathering her energy.

"We hope you give us more challenge than the last weak things we killed," the creature hisses before leaping into the air and charging right for Rugula.

Hisses all around you grab your attention, and you spot three more of the creatures attacking from different sides.

The four beasts are boxing you in.

You turn and blast the creature nearest to you in the chest, pushing him back and sending him back to the ground.

He lands on all fours, hissing up at you angrily before rising back to his hind legs. The one charging Rugula soon joins him, however, a moment later, Soko and Azu are knocked to the ground, and the two grounded lizards scurry toward them.

You turn to see Sabi and Rugula fiercely fighting the two airborne lizards, and look back down to see Soko and Azu blast at the two lizards charging them.

The grounded bests leap out of the way and tackle Soko to the ground, cutting at him with massive claws while Azu blasts at them.

She manages to knock one off of Soko, but it gets right back up and heads for her.

Soko's hurt pretty badly. He's alive, but you doubt he'll remain particularly useful in this fight for much longer.

As the lizard creatures come charging, you prepare yourself and do your best to muster a defense.

That proves difficult with their slashing attacks made with sharp claws, but you manage to fend off the creature attacking you with relative ease.

Azu has more trouble, and you can see her quickly becoming overwhelmed by her foe's attacks. Luckily for her, Soko knocks the creature off-balance with an energy blast to the side of its head, giving her the chance to kick it away before blasting it with an energy wave.

The creature attacking you goes for your legs, and you leap over it, kicking it in the back of the head and leaving it sprawled on the ground.

You grab the creature by its tail and spin, planning to throw it at its comrade, but as it turns out, you don't even need to let go.

The creature's tail detaches as you spin, and the rest of its body flies off, colliding with the other creature and knocking them both over.

Soko and Azu batter the pair with a barrage of energy blasts, while you look up to see Rugula kill one with an energy attack. Its charred corpse falls to the ground, and Rugula and Sabi gang up on the remaining creature.

You hold your hands toward the two lizards, whom Azu and Soko are blasting with many energy attacks, weakening them and making it much easier for you to finish them off.

You unleash a massive wave of energy on the two lizards, consuming them in a beam of light and scorching their bodies terribly.

Smoke rises from their corpses when you're finished. And, looking up, you see Sabi break the remaining creature's snout before Rugula crushes its windpipe with a powerful kick.

As the corpse falls, you hear hissing behind you, and turn to see eight more of the creatures gathered just a few yards away.

"These little ones have more fight in them than I thought," the creature closest to you comments. He's a bit larger than the others, and carries some sort of spear. "Tell me, hairy things, why are you here? What are you?"

You tell the creature that the five of you are Saiyans, and you are here to create a warrior empire.

"Saiyans?" the creature hisses. "I've never heard of those."

One of the others hisses something to the larger one, who gives a low growls that convinces the other one to back down.

"We are here because Alpha commanded it," he explains. "Alpha wants our people to rule the universe, and has conquered two other worlds besides our home planet. We stayed here to hunt for survivors."

"Hunting weak women and children is no fun," one of the creatures hisses. "We should be conquering other planets, not killing vermin."

The larger one nods. "Yes. But Alpha has commanded us to stay here."

"And why should you listen to Alpha?" Rugula asks. "He's wasting your time by having you fight weaklings. But, if you joined us, we'd let you fight strong warriors."

You nod. "Join us, and we'll give you endless creatures to hunt. Hundreds of worlds are waiting, and billions of creatures can be devoured."

The creatures begin hissing among themselves before the leader silences them with a growl.

"You want us to serve you," he hisses. "You promise us more than Alpha offers. You strong enough to kill our warriors."

He bares his teeth. "And you have the power to control energy. Only Alpha has this power on our world."

"He is the mightiest of our race," the creature answers. "He conquered all of our clans and killed any who would not follow him."

You make him an offer. If he follows you, you will teach him how to control his energy. If it's such a rare thing among his people, it must be extremely valuable, and you suspect you could tempt many with the promise of unlocking that secret.

Sure enough, the creatures are intrigued, and hiss and growls amongst themselves before their leader looks back to you.

"No," he hisses. "Alpha has the only spaceship, and has taken it to conquer another world."

You instruct the lizards to remain where they are for the time being, and return to the pods with your fellow Saiyans, where you find Kamatsuna tinkering with them.

"The scouters are ready," she announces casually. "All of them are in their own private network now. So, use the as much as you want."

"What are you doing now?" Sabi asks.

"Disabling the trackers on our pods," she explains. "By now Bardock's crew will know where to go, but once we fake our battle, we don't want Frieza's people to know we survived and where we're going."

Everyone reattaches and reactivates their scouters.

You ask Kamatsuna if she'd be able to build a spaceship.

She pauses in her work, glancing over her shoulder. "I could. But it would take a great deal of time and resources to accomplish on my own, depending on what kind of ship you want. How big will it be? How fast? What systems do you want it to have?"

"Well, what can you build quickly?" Azu asks.

"If you guys could find the right materials, I could get a ship similar to one of our pods built in about two weeks," Kamatsuna answers. "Anything bigger would take at least a month."

"Alpha will probably be back before then," Soko points out.

You tell the creature that you have questions about his people.

"What do you wish to know?" he demands.

You start by asking a little bit about his people's history.

"For generations we lived in clans across the planet," he explains. "Then Alpha came, conquering the plans one by one until he ruled us all."

"How does someone become an Alpha?" you ask.

"Before, the leader of each clan was called Alpha," the creature tells you. "But when he took over the clans, Alpha renamed all of the other Alpha's Beta."

You ask him about Alpha's army, and how many followers he has.

"There are hundreds of us," the creature explains. "Most of them are with Alpha, and some are still on our home planet."

With your questions answered, you begin the training of energy control, walking the creatures through the process. It's fairly simple, since they already grasp the concept of flight.

It doesn't take long for them to understand the concept of creating energy projectiles, but it does take some time for them to put it into practice.

For the better part of an hour you remain in one spot, watching the creatures struggle to create any bit of energy attack.

The largest one eventually manages to create small glowing balls of light in his palm, but is unable to focus the energy into an attack. Still, he seems pleased by the progress he has made, and judging from the reactions of the others, they're quite amazed.

Your scouter suddenly alerts you to six power levels approaching the planet. Judging by the number of approaching powers and what levels they are at, you assume that Bardock and his team are arriving.

You tell the lizards to stay here and continue their training. You then take to the air and fly toward the spot where your pods and scientist are waiting.

When you touch down, you spot Kamatsuna tinkering with one of the pods. She doesn't look up when you arrive, and probably already knows you're here from her scouter.

You pick up the power levels of your teammates a few miles away, probably scouring the ruins. Your scouter alerts you to six powers rapidly closing in from above, and you look up to see six pods streak through the sky and crash somewhere in the distance.

"That should be them," Kamatsuna comments, not pausing in her work. "They've been told to deactivate their scouters after sending a few transmissions in order to make it appear that they were attacked."

You leave Kamatsuna to her tinkering, and fly toward Bardock's team.

As you draw closer, you spot them standing around their pods. Among them is a woman you've never seen before, and you suspect her to be Bardock's wife. Her power level is only around 700, making her far weaker than her husband.

You hear Bardock's team shout something about the scouters before removing them and presumably deactivating them.

You land in front of the group, and Bardock gives you a smirk.

"So, you made it," he says. "Good to see you knuckleheads didn't get yourselves killed before we got here."

You ask Bardock who the new woman is.

"This is my wife, Gine," Bardock introduces.

"Nice to meet you," she says in a pleasant tone and a friendly smile.

"So, what did we miss?" Toma asks.

You go over the brief list of things you've done since arriving on this world, which mostly amounts to you explaining the lizards you got to join you.

"Good, we should be able to conquer a few planets no problem, then," Seripa says.

"Sounds like a good start," Toma agrees.

As you land, they look your way, and the large one, whom you hear some of the others refer to as "Beta" approaches.

"You are not strong enough to kill Alpha," Beta growls.

You tell him not to worry about that, and ask if he and the others will be strong enough to deal with the other Betas when Alpha returns.

"Yes, with the power we will crush them," Beta promises you.

You decide to kill two birds with one stone, and stay close enough to oversee their training while also training yourself a bit by searching for food.

You manage to find some containers of food in the ruins of one of the cities, and figure it will be enough to tide everyone over for a day. You return to the lizards, and find Beta managing to make a larger ball of light, but still no projectiles.

You return to searching, and come across some burrows that look to have been dug recently. You decide to follow them, and at the bottom find one long tunnel that snakes below the surface. The clawmarks everywhere make you wonder about whatever made this, and you soon stumble across some fairly fresh bloodstains.

That's when you spot a large, partially-eaten animal lying dead in the corner.
