Requesting art of medieval-ish looking crossbowmen!
Preferably without metal armor, more skirmisher looking troops
Though, Genoese are never not welcome.
Also general Character Art thread

Metal armour being common was half the point of the crossbow, and a crossbow is not some "too poor for real weapons or armour" piece of kit, so it's a tricky combination to find images of. They'll usually be wearing at least a helmet.

And it's not like the middle ages had a lot of "No, I'm specced for agility" going on.
Armour is just a really good idea.

I more or less meant more gambeson/quilted armor, not peasant rags.
Crossbowmen weren't always wearing plate armor, s'all.

Well "without metal armour" is a really impractical way to say "gambeson and helmet or similar".

Forgive my pedantism, but the proper term is arbalest.

You mean arbalist?

You know, not everyone is retarded as you. I got what he meant perfectly.

Forgive my pedantism, but the proper term is Arbalist, to differentiate between the user and the weapon, the Arbalest.
