How does one build a Jhoira artificer deck without having to resort to Obliterate + Eldrazi? I love the idea because that's what she is. An artificer.
>>
I was planning on getting the BW precon, but it sucks so much balls I'm probably just going to pick up Karlov, Daxos and a couple other singles later on.
I'm still pretty keen on getting a precon though, which has the best staples between GB, GU, or RW?

For as long as I've played Magic I've only really played Bant related colors, mostly always with some form of white. I picked up the Meren deck because she seems fun but I am at a lost when it comes to knowledge of good black cards to use with her.

How do I into black, guys.
>>
>>43728592
If it's big in your meta just don't talk about it being in your deck pre-game. Also forget about game two if anybody sees it.
>>
>>43728635
Just play Chainer, and look at every black card recommended on EDHREC.
>>
>>43728401
Because a functional, flavorful Akroan deck would make me happy and Wizards can't have that.
>>
So is /tg/ finally done speculating about Bismuth mana?
>>
>>43729002
I still believe it's just exclusively colorless mana. It makes the most sense.
>>
>>43728384
That card clearly says that she's a human wizard.
>>
>>43729002
>>43729010
There shouldn't be any "speculation" it's not like any of the spoiled cards are unclear. Cards can require specifically colorless mana, like any color. It's not spec-bait dumbasses.
>>
If a creature that was brought back from the graveyard by Diabolic Servitude that has Undying is sent to the graveyard, what would trigger first? Diabolic Servitude's effect or Undying?
>>
>>43729109
They both trigger but you chose the order it's put on the stack.
>>
>>43728663

The real problem is that Jhoira already exists in the meta. They know what to expect. In want them to bribery me and just sort of go "... What the fuck bus this shit..."
>>
>>43729109
someone correct me if I am wrong, but as they both trigger at the same time, you get to place the order of them on the stack.
>>
>>43729082
>There shouldn't be any "speculation" it's not like any of the spoiled cards are unclear.

Except they are? I didn't mean to go this far off-topic but I don't see where you're coming from whatsoever.
>>
>>43729011
Sure, and she is in fluff, too. She's also an artificer in fluff. In fact, this is straight from the wiki:

>Jhoira was a Shivan artificer of the Ghitu tribe who studied at the Tolarian Academy.

http://mtgsalvation.gamepedia.com/Jhoira
>>
>>43729145
>>43729172

Thanks! But that would mean if I chose for Undying to trigger the creature would return to the battlefield and be immediately exiled or would Diabolic Servitude fizzle out and just stay on the battlefield?
>>
>>43729343
Undying would remove the creature from diabolic servitude, and servitude should return to your hand.
>>
>>43729343
I'm not 100% sure, but what I think would happen is that Undying resolves first and returns the creature to the battlefield, then Diabolic Servitude exiles a card that's no longer in the graveyard and returns to your hand. This is because Diabolic Servitude doesn't replace the dying trigger with an exile, it just moves shit around.

I might be wrong, though, you might want to ask a judge.

I was Jund Artifact deck/ Shattergang Bros, play Mycosynth Lattice and Shattering spree with a single Hangarback walker spawning thousands of thopters, sacking the thopters for mana to supply shattering spree.

Enemy brought out all color general, Horde of Notions and Encahnted it out it's ass, destroy all enchantments before making him sack the Horde of Notions, he counters it- I cast Fork, copying his counter spell to counter his counter spell. He gets up off the table and holds bleeding ass as he waddles to his car.

Kozilek really isn't all that interesting. Mirror pool requires you play an additional type of basics which isn't a good idea, turning two color decks into three color decks with colorless lands that don't give you any additional benefits. Time will tell if Wizards give a good incentive to run Wastes in edh, but until then, I'm wary.
>>
>>43733399
Because besides the basic colorless for colorless generals, there's not much to be hyped about.
>>
So for the past few months I made a neat deck and always and only won through Kokusho and Phage alone. It's happen so much that no one plays me or leaves potential 3+ games if I use this deck.

What do?

This was happening to me with Drana, since it was my Duel Commander deck it's cutthroat. I started building Gisa in a way that it could be an easy going midrange deck but rattlesnake big damage in case someone is being a faggot, and then did the same with Daxos.

Since all 3 decks together use only 199 different cards I just bough a couple of same-color Dragon Shields and made an EDH toolbox instead of buying 3x Demonic Tutor, 2x Cabal Coffers, etc.
>>
>>43733439
>Mirror pool requires you play an additional type of basics which isn't a good idea
I feel like that symbol just means *only colorless mana*. That makes the most sense anyway. And if that's the case, most decks use non basics that produce colorless.

I've played with people who have no problem playing through an armageddon if it clearly is going to lead to a won game or is running counter to ramp. I've also been crucible stripmined turns 1 and 2 into a puzzle box chains of Mephistopheles lock on turn 3. play with people you enjoy playing with and it's always fun

So I just impulse bought Swell the Host, or rather arranged to buy it through someone at Hasbro if it becomes available...
A lot of me is screaming, wow, what a terrible idea, you already have enough magic cards incl. trade fodder, you don't need to buy into more EDH crap that's hard to move into other formats, why are you buying anything that's not singles that you want for a specific deck for a specific reason in a specific playgroup, etc, etc
But I really miss owning a Caller of the Claw, and probably wouldn't be able to justify the expense of picking one up any other way... and Command Beacon + High Market + Reliquary Tower is probably a pleasant land package to have (~$10), Eternal Witness + Skullwinder + Verdant Confluence is probably a pleasant recursion package to have (~$7), and I guess I can justify spending a bit more than that on random chaff, idk
I'm just feeling pretty pleased about myself for trading crap like Rhystic Study, Impulse, Dissolve, Mystic Remora, Opt, Reliquary Tower, etc (which I got for nearly free in a large box of commons) into an Exploration (and other crap to cover up the exchange) so I felt like I could splurge, idk
anyway thanks for reading my blog i'll fade into obscurity now

Chasm Skulker and Hooded Hydra for shitloads of tokens.
Evolutionary Leap to make good use of your tokens and trigger the two aforementioned.
Deadeye Navigator to continuously trigger ETBs and Ezuri's ability.
Draining Whelk and/or Mystic Snake for reusable counters with Deadeye.
Master Biomancer and/or Bloodspore Thrinax to give counters to all your things at once and not just one.
Pathbreaker Ibex and/or Craterhoof Behemoth as a finisher.
Acidic Slime for removal.
Hornet Queen turns into at least a 7/7 flyer wih 4 1/1s with deathtouch if you have Ezuri out.
Inexorable Tide gives you a ton of extra counters for free.

What makes the most sense is it functions like any colored mana symbol: can be satisfied with mana of that color/symbol, and nothing else.

>"There are a few stories about people ripping up Chaos Orbs in the first couple of years after Magic was released. The story is that someone ripped up a Chaos Orb and dropped the pieces onto the playing area in order to hit as many permanents as possible. The player ended up clearing most of the opponent's lands and creatures and won the game shortly afterward. The story says that the player didn't care about the value of the Orb since people didn't realize how valuable cards were going to be, especially the Beta rares. This story might be an urban legend or it might be real. It doesn't really matter since it's a fun story and it led to the creation of Chaos Confetti. I would guess that there is indeed an element of truth to the story.

Imagine if instead of the reserved list, we had a card economy managed by disposable cards. Like the best effects are single shot, and the card must be ripped in half and rendered unusable to use.

Does this sound retarded? Of course it does. But it's still less retarded than the reserved list!

So say my opponents commander is Rubinia. If he takes control of one of my creatures, then blinks it with deadeye navigator, does he now control my creature permanently?

>>43737985
Yes, because it returns it tot he battlefield under his control and not the owners.
>>
>>43737985
Correct. Deadeye Navigator returns the creature to your control, and since it's re-entering, the game considers it an entirely new creature that is under no obligation to return to its owner.

Fun fact, this works on other people's commanders regardless of whether your opponent puts it back in the command zone from Deadeye's exile or not because Deadeye just rips it right back to the battlefield.

<> taps for <> or generic colorless. Just like a Swamp taps for B or colorless. That's it. It's the simplest way to function, and the most rules-friendly. My entire playgroup understood that in seconds. I don't get how to fuck /tg/ is up in arms about this making it 10x more convoluted than it needs to be.

On topic: I'm probably gonna pick up the RU deck, but am not sure if I want the BG or UG. Anyone with the decks wanna give me a quick rundown/review?
>>
>>43738641
Out of the box I think RU/BG are the best.

RU I think is the least fun to play against, because a few counters means they can cast/draw basically whatever the heck they want and will always have a counter/win con

BG can ramp faster with a few good draws, but I think is more manageable as creatures I think are always easier to deal with then, spell slinging.
>>
>>43735728
...is this bait?

It seems like you just went full retard.

>>
>>43738714
Okay, thanks man. I want to pick up all 5 decks eventually, but I'm only gonna grab 2 today. I already have a Savra deck, so the BG is just going to feed it with some singles after playing it out of the box. I'm still surprised they didn't put Savra in the precon. These decks have much less focus to them compared to last year.

RU and UG are decks I've been meaning to make, but never set aside the time to craft. Arjun looks like silly fun, and I love me a good Sphinx.

new-daxos went alpha strike at newzuri and nezuri played mirror match, wiped daxos off the board anyway. and because one of the copies was a doomwake giant and there were several enchantment tokens ETB with it the whole board pretty much got wiped except for ezuri. ezuri went on to win after that with an enormous viral drake.

mirror match is some bullshit.
>>
>>43739399
Mirrormatch is such a great color pie obeying card. It represents blue getting access to a combat step teamwipe, through the mechanics clearly in blue's pie: clone generation.

Meanwhile, green constantly breaks the color pie by using its mechanics of token generation and fighting to blow people out on an empty board.

>>
>>43740060
short answer no,
only the creature with the equipment has that ability

Long answer

When copying an object, the copy acquires the copiable values of the original object's characteristics... the "copiable values" are the values derived from the text printed on the object (that text being name, mana cost, card type, subtype, supertype, expansion symbol, rules text, power, toughness, and/or loyalty...Other effects (including type-changing and text-changing effects), status, and counters are not copied
>>
>>43740060
gatherer ruling on clone
>7/1/2012 Clone copies exactly what was printed on the original creature and nothing more (unless that creature is copying something else or is a token; see below). It doesn't copy whether that creature is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras attached to it, or any non-copy effects that have changed its power, toughness, types, color, or so on.

I'm inclined to say no, it won't copy the infect ability if the creature didn't have it originally.
