Why didn't the Emperor, beloved by all, reveal himself and lead humanity to the stars during the first ascension of humanity before the Age of Strife?
>>
>>43579903
Maybe he thought humanity had a chance, with him just gently nudging from the sidelines?
>>
>>43579903
Because they where doing fine before then.

That made him mad, so he made the Men of Iron to ruin everything.
>>
Emperor was a warlord born towards the end of the Age of Strife.

Anything else you hear is just Best Korea propaganda.

Because he wasn't beloved by all, because humanity has, at times, proven itself capable enough to not need a god Emperor, and because the stars are OURS to grasp, not some immortal shithead's.
>>

Fuck off writers of the HH series.
>>
>>43580109
This, the corpse Emperor was a tyrant of the worst kind.

>That made him mad, so he made the Men of Iron to ruin everything.

That was Humanity, not the Emperor. If anything, the Emperor picked up the pieces of humanities fuck-ups and tried to put it back together in a reasonable manner.

There's a reason he forbids A.I. research.

The funny thing about your statement is that literally everything related to 40K is Best Korea Propaganda.

Besides, one book that alludes to something happening at some point but never specifies what happened doesn't overturn decades of prior fluff unless it outright comes out and says it, ESPECIALLY since the source that made the claim in the novel was a Daemon, which will say anything they want to manipulate somebody into doing their bidding.
>>
>>43579903
The same reason Gandalf doesn't whoop out the magic 24/7. Man must find its own way. Gandalf is a facillitator, Eru's means of nudging and hinting at true purpose and strength.

The Emperor is just a servant of :E
>>
>>43579903
He wanted humanity to grow and guided and protected it from the shadows.
Only when it almost brought about its own extinction, and the emergence of psykers, did he decide he must take a firmer hand.
>>
>>43579903
He was still going through ghola incarnations.

My headcanon that the Emperor is Duncan Idaho will not die.

Shut your faces. Three out of four of the Gods who just want to destroy reality become self aware during the Middle Ages but Emps was only a warlord from the Age of Strife? Right.
>>
According to the new fluff, he didn't have his god-like powers yet. He was only able to discover where to get them during the Dark Age of Technology.
>>
>>43585165
Also is implied that he realized he had failed to subtlety manipulate humanity with the onset at the Age of Strife
>>
Basically everyone here has a different opinion (admittedly from citing conflicting sources) on just why the Emperor didn't come out of the Immortal Physical God closet, but it basically comes down to a combination of factors ANYWAY.

First factor, humanity was doing relatively well for itself before the Age of Strife, they embraced science and reason, and generally thought of themselves as the masters of the cosmos, and on the large that was true, for a brief period of time, they conquered numerous species, populated countless worlds and went where no man had gone before.

They were wildly successful... for a time.

Second factor, it is wildly obvious that regardless of whether or not Emps received his powers from a ritual thousands of years into the distant past from some shamans in reaction to the birth of hungry star gods, or received them during the onset of the Age of Strife, that he was immortal manipulating events since long before he had to take an active role in anything.

Factor three, the onset of the Age of Strife and then what followed created the ideal environment from which to develop a power base and then expand outwards, thus solidifying humanity under a centralized Galactic Government.

This government had to be created in stages, slowly assimilating everything they conquered into itself, and it was severely overburdened by the time of the HH and continues to be into the 41st Millennium.

Emps hoped to counteract this and speed up logistics and bureaucracy with the creation of a man-made webway addition. This would have greatly increased the speed and safety of FTL travel, allowing for a more manageable Imperium. From here his focus would have shifted toward isolating the Warp deities further, keeping them out of the Materium.

Of course it all got fucked up.
>>
>>43579903
he's a big guy
>>
>>43579903
Because before the end humanity was basically Star Trek and was honestly more advanced then the grimderp in the series. The Stone Age morality of the Emp didn't fly with them so he was a non entity. Then Chaos found a way in that Geordi could fix and Data went crazy.
>>
>>43585165
This is why you don't listen to daemons.
>>
>>43580551
>There's a reason he forbids A.I. research.
That's been forbidden by the Crimson Accords of the Tech-Priests since the dawn of the Age of Strife, the Emperor had nothing to do with it.
>>
>>43580586
Don't the daemons and crap all refer to him as "The Enemy" or "The Opposite" or whatever? He's pretty much diametrically opposed to them, anybody who thinks otherwise is kind of stupid.

Not stupid ... well, not JUST stupid. This is what now passes for trolling by redditards and tumblrinas. Thanks, millennials.
>>
>>43587820
The Emperor tricked the Chaos Gods and stole their power to make himself a god. Of course, they would see him as the enemy.
>>
>>43589354

This.

However the Chaos Gods used Horus to get rid of the Emperor and create a galaxy of perpetual war to empower them, until Abaddon gathers enough strenght to destroy the Imperium in 40k End Times.
