If you want them savage, design them that way. Don't make them look cute or conveniently have the human parts where we care about. Design them as creatures of their own and not literally a human stitched to a monster. You can still make centauroid builds, but don't make it convenient to ignore their animalistic traits.
Basicly, look at stuff like Daily life with mosnter girls or monster girl encyclopedia, and just do not what they did.
Also, you probably want there to be males around to save a hassle on how they reproduce.
And use a different collective term for them because mosnter girl/boy has a lot of sexual connotations.

I'd either just include them as a normal thing, just another humanoid species that exists in the world. Or go with them being the descends of humans that were cursed for whatever reason. Gives them reasons to be outcasts so you could go with them being savage and bitter or paint them in a more sympathetic light.

A good suggestion is find the closest mythological match and use that name or use the name of the animal they are based on in another language.
There is a culture of Driders, Spider Centaurs, in my groups setting with no connection to the Drow or Lolth and they are called the Hamahakki. Which is literally Spider in Finnish.
They have quite a bit of cultural appropriation with the Lapps also, which helps support this.Come to think about it, using cultural image of one society and the language of the society that has all but committed genocide against the former is a rather insensitive thing to do.

In aquestI'm reading, there were ancient monsters. They were dumb, incredibly strong, huge, and numerous. They were of different kinds and populated all places of the world.
And there also was a nation of wizards that wanted to get rid of them, for they wanted the lands populated by the monsters for themselves. So the wizards needed a weapon. Something that would be at least semi-self-sustainable, autonomous enough to not require constant control and resources, and of course, effective.
And so they created the monster-races. The creatures that were most suited for various environment depending on their type, intelligent enough to fight on their own and outsmart the monsters. Centaurs for plains and steppes, harpies for the sky, merrows for the seas, ant-people for the underground, etc.
This solution proved to be a success. Eventually the creatures destroyed the monsters and the land was freed for the wizards to take. They founded a great city, their capital, there, and the chimeras were kind of just left there to live in the free pieces of land and probably serve the wizards when needed. After all, destroying them would be kind of a very dickish thing to do.
Some time later the wizard civilization suffered a great cataclysm which destroyed the capital and killed most of the nation's rulers. Those left alive managed to stop the cataclysm and ordered the monster-races to guard the remains of the city and their legacy.
With time, however, as old generations died, new appeared, and centuries passed, these orders were forgotten, and all races besides one just kind of left to do what they saw most fit, developing their own cultures, myths, and religions and gradually changing.
In my setting, there's an affliction that people periodically get in the world if they are attacked by a monster who is itself a carrier of a parasite which adapts to its host by carrying traits that the initial monster had over. The change is pretty rapid, but stabilizes just as quickly, causing people to possess monster-related appendages.
The parasite is somewhat arcane, so things can be explained with magic bullshit and whatnot, but it's sufficient for my setting. Spidergirls, for example, are simply women who were bitten by spiders, who are commonly known to dwell in the dank areas where this parasite gestates, and if they go to gather mushrooms or fruit and one of those spiders bites them on a whim, they will start to mutate, and have a lot of explaining to do by the time they go home.A great deal of people within the setting sexualize them anyways, tons of people simply admire how they look, tons of people hate them for being unclean freaks, the world sees them as a boon and a curse. Much like any and all other races.Those who are transformed don't really change too much beyond having to deal with a pair of bat wings or scales or tufts of fur to regularly shave.Guys can also turn, but their changes tend to be less dramatic.

We don't really need another fetish quest to take up thread space. There's a dozen quests right now already and they tend to bump other stuff down rapidly, and the threads are created all the time.
Plus I don't trust anyone writing a monstergirl quest to actually write well. Your entire reason for making one would be to satisfy a fetish, which usually comes with lower quality writing and usually not much of worth. If you have not written before you could start with the smut threads or something and post shit there until your writing is good enough.
If you think you can actually write it well or produce semi-decent art then go ahead, but know that you will take heat for it regardless due to everything I have said and quite a bit more, and it will be much less civil. Though that usually drops off after the first few threads.
