Recently: You beat Dick handily. You're next match will be against the first member of the Elite Four. Dick seems to have a way to control Regirock, though.
General rules:
There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.
Write-ins for all votes or always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.
Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as it comes up.
Combat involves rolls! Once there's a clear winner, we roll for the move accuracy/crit/secondary effect. Usually it's just three 1d100s. Sometimes you can get a modifier from circumstances, so be creative! Add flair, do tricks with moves, mess with terrain, whatever!
Call me out on a mistake and receive an apology butt or suggestive picture.

Its begun!
You head over to Regirock. It’s stone, pupiless eyes face you. There’s not much of a face to read.
“Are you okay? I mean, with Dick?”
It doesn’t react.
“What’s he doing to you?”
It leans back. He’s defeated. You feel like it was really important for him to win the match. Or at least, really important that he did what Dick told him too.
“Come on, why do you listen to that guy? What’s going on?”
“Get up!” Dick comes storming over. “Get up right now!”
Regirock struggles to move, but it can’t. Levi leaps over to your side and roars at it and Dick, causing him to back up and trip.
“Call it off!” Dick dramatically shouts. Levi doesn’t come within a foot of him, though.
“Levi!” You put a hand on her. She jerks reactively. “You did great, you won. Don’t worry about him. I can handle Dick.” That came out wrong.
“Okay! Break it up. That’s enough,” A ref runs onto the field. “You both need to clear the field.”
Dick is still processing what happened. Another ref comes in and they both start trying to get you off the field.
“This isn’t right,” Dick says. “I told you what would happen if you didn’t listen. I told you to win!”
Regirock’s eyes, or whatever they are, target the device in his hand. From this angle it doesn’t look broken.
The ref’s are becoming less polite about getting you off the arena floor.

“Regirock!” you slip past the ref trying to usher you off. “I think it’s broken. Whatever he has on you, you don’t have to listen anymore!”
Regirock gives what you think is a shocked expression. It’s really hard to read. Before it can do anything though, Dick retrieves it.
Dick glares daggers at you. “I am challenging this match. She cheated! I demand an inquiry!” He lifts up his sleeve. There’s a small stain from Toxic. “See? Replay the match in slow motion! She attacked me!”
The refs and judges in their viewing boxes start whispering to each other and pulling videos.
“Looks like they’ll be reviewing the tapes. Yes. Yes, we’ve just received word that the official ruling will come after they’ve had a chance to review. If there is indeed a valid dispute, the Elite Four themselves will convene and come to a decision.”
The crowd gasps and chatters. People are murmuring about you. You see the jumbo screen zoom on your face, and someone pushes a mic to you as you’re finally ushered off the arena floor

People are crowding all around. Fans, enthusiasts, just those swept up in the cheers and sometimes boos. It’s almost overwhelming. More officials crowd around you. One guard with a growlithe yells at the surrounding people to step back, then turns to you. “Come on, we have a back room we can take you to while the judges review everything.”
You see on the screen that they’ll be starting Robin and Eddies match soon. The lead guard and his underlings surround and force you to go down an employee only hallway.
“Am I being detained?” You’re a little untrusting of adults trying to take you away without your asking.
“What? No. It’s a security issue, but nobody is arresting you,” he says, despite pretty much forcing you into the small waiting room.
“I can get your Pokemon healed and bring them back, if you’d like. I know how you trainers can get.” Growlithe barks enthusiastically and he pets it.

“Thanks,” you pat his chest as you squeeze by. Guess he’s not a bad guy after all. You turn your jacket inside out, do your hair up in a quick, crappy bun, and keep your head low. You slide between people and make it to the counter where you turn over your Pokemon. You wait impatiently, get them, and start running up to the usual bleacher spot.
“Sorry, I’m saving this spot for-” Vance looks at you. “Oh! Kat! There you are. What happened?”
You explain everything quickly. He, Jeanine, and Clair scoff at Dick. “He’s just being a sore loser. No way the judges are going to side with him.”

Clair folds her arms under her heavy chest. “You can’t just steal a Pokemon from a trainer. That’s a serious crime. The authorities don’t take a Pokemon away unless there are clear signs of abuse, too. A lot of things can be excused as tough training. If anything, the system is too lenient. You’d need a lot of evidence.”
Jeanine looks unsatisfied. “So what, we just stalk him and secretly videotape a mountain of evidence while he abuses it?”

She talks out loud. “Well, it depends on what it is. I didn’t see a shock collar or anything. It must do something else.” In your mind though, she warns you not to make a joke about controlling her with a device after last night.
“Well, just because we can’t see anything on Regirock, doesn’t mean there isn’t anything inside of it,” you offer.
Clair glares.
“Like, a bomb in it’s arm?” Jeanine leans in.
“Yeah! It got a new arm from a quarry right? One Dick’s family has a stake in? Maybe he rigged it.”
“Or maybe the device does something else. He’s smart, right? He wouldn’t put a bomb in his own Pokemon,” Vance says. He’s got a point. “Regirock is a fighter, all the way. He wouldn’t care if it was himself on the line. His honor is at stake. You can see it in him.”
Well, if anyone recognizes a fighting spirit, you’d give it to Vance.
"Well, whatever," Clair interrupts. "If you snatch it from him, Regirock won't listen to him anymore and either he'll do something out of line and we'll have a case, or Regirock will just escape on it's own." Clair sighs. "I hope it's the latter," she mutters under her breath.
Robin’s match is about to start. You see a few people in the row ahead exchanging bets. You have a lot of money on you, but you do like to gamble.

He takes it down, then looks back at you. “Wait, aren’t you-” Damnit. You duck your head back down again.
“Shh.” You put your finger to your lips. “I don’t want to be recognized. Please?”
He hesitates, thinks, then smiles. “Fine.You cheered up my buddy after he lost the other night when you teaching people moves. I can keep my mouth shut.” He takes down your bet. “You know something I don’t?”
“Just that Robin’s the best.”
The first matchup is Clefairy against Golem. Robin opens with Stealth Rock, but Eddie saw this coming and creatively uses Gravity on the stones to keep them glued to the ground for a while.
“A fantastic counter from Eddie!”
“Fun fact: Eddie was very last trainer to get qualified into the tournament.” They play a clip of him out of breath, running in a few seconds before the cut of time.
Golem uses Rock Polish. Clefairy hits it with Grass Knot and does an amazing amount of damage.
But Golem is tough. He strikes back with Heavy Slam, then finishes it with Sucker Punch, despite its resistance.
Leafeon is out next. Robin surprises it with Steamroller, causing it to flinch. She does it again, but this time it keeps moving and uses Sunny Day. Robin switches Pokemon and it’s her Ninetails that takes the Solar Beam.
It’s getting intense! You cheer with everyone.
Robin’s mom arrives. “Kat, take my hand.”
You stare at her.
“Hmm, no? Fine. But follow me. They want to talk to you about your match.” She looks at you and your friends. “I doubt they’ll be happy if you keep them waiting.”
You look down at Robin. She’s feeling pressured. She looks over the crowd.

Violet hesitates, just for one almost invisible moment, then she pulls you up out of your seat. “Maybe I’ll watch it later, if I have nothing better to do, and if you keep me in a good mood. But I’m afraid people are waiting on us, and I’m extremely interested in this Regirock business.”
“Fine, let’s get it over with.” The crowd gasps and goes silent at Ninetails fainting to Leafeon. You missed it. How did that happen?
“Go Robin!” You yell over the silence and take down your hair “You can do it!”
She looks up and sees you waving. You hope it helps.

The Elite Four look down from their raised bench. You take it in.
Cliff, the ground master smiles happily. He looks like he has that positive aura at all times.
Emma, the ice master, is someone you think you could look up to. She’s a pilot, a surgeon, and a strong battler. She’s also a bit of a drunk, but hey, nobody’s perfect.
Rob, the fire master, glares down at you and Dick. He’s Robin’s crappy dad. You opted not to even face him when he was the fire gym leader. Your interactions with him haven’t been pleasant. He looks unimpressed with Dick too, though. He seems distracted from the champion, his estranged wife, too.
Geno, the dragon master. He’s the owner of Prosapia Corp as well as the leader of the Elite Four. He used to lead Team Imperium from the shadows, trying to control them to keep crime to a minimum. He abandoned that after you and your friends confronted him, and now they’re more active than ever. As far as you know, he’s been trying to bring them down, but can’t keep up.
And finally, the champion. She watches from the sidelines, amused.
Dick smacks his desk. “This is crazy! How can there be an impartial ruling when she’s dating your daughter! You’re practically in-laws.”
Robert looks like he’s about to use Explosion.

Geno ignores the banter. “We’ve reviewed the tapes.”
“And you saw it, right? She had her Pokemon use a move on me!”
“We found no evidence of an intentional or ordered attack.” Geno is curt and direct.
“But I was hit!”
“Yes, but it was, as Kat put it before, splashback. her Pokemon simply had an excessive amount of Toxic in use. Now, I understand it damaged your personal property. If that’s your protest-”
Dick shrinks down and looks nervous. “I don’t care about my stuff, but I have other complaints.”
Robert taps his foot. He wants to leave, but he seems compelled not to leave a stone unturned. “Other complaints? Spare no details, but be quick about it.”
Dick complains about your Gyarados threatening him after the match. Another review shows he wasn’t in danger, although they acknowledge a small, but not punishment-worthy amount of excessive force by Gyarados in the match.

She fed it something.” He leans down and covers his face, but you also see him pinching himself stealthily. He looks up with tears in his eyes. “I-I’m so worried about my Pokemon!”
That asshole! “Oh come on! Don’t jerk us all around. I’ll pay for what Vlad broke if that’s what it’ll take to get this over with. Say, what did he break anyway?”
Dick glares. “It’s fine.”
“No really, I insist. My Pokemon accidentally broke something of yours. Just tell us what it was so I can pay for it and make amends.”
“ENOUGH!” Robert slams the table, causing Emma to jump and Cliff to slam his face down after leaning on his hand. “Show it to us!”
Dick reluctantly takes it out. “It’s...a pen. But she broke the pen part. Melted it right out with Toxic.”
Nobody is buying it. You stop dancing around it. “You’re using it to control Regirock!”
“That’s absurd! If it did anything to Regirock, the security checks would have seen an item on him, right?”
“Let me see it,” Geno sticks his hand out
“I withdraw my complaints! You don’t have the authority to just take my private property. Touch me and I’ll drown you in lawyers” Dick starts stomping off. “But this isn’t over! You understand? I will buy the league if I have to!”
“It’s not buyable,” Geno says, disgusted.
The members start leaving. Violet walks past you and whispers for you to meet her afterwards. Robert seems to be listening to a small radio, no longer trying to get out. He almost jumps out of his seat, pumping his fist. Sounds like Robin won.

You nod leave. You don’t know how to feel about that.
You rush past Violet. “Not right now, Robin comes first.”
She scoffs. “Just when I thought you were learning, you go and put a person's feelings above a Pokemon. Very disappointing!” You keep going. She follows just long enough to slip you an address. “Meet me in a bit, then. Cafe Soleil.”
You don’t confirm or deny, you’re already gone by then. You duck through the halls and crowds until you find Robin and your friends at the Pokemon healing station.
“You won!” You grab her and plant a big one on her. “Sorry I missed it.”
She pulls her hair behind her ear. “I-it’s okay. They told me what happened. Did the meeting go okay?”
You fill them in on the details, and pass on Roberts message. By the time you’re done, you see your face on the jumbo screen, along with Robin and two other trainers. You’re the remaining challengers, all with the right to take on the Elite Four. One of the strangers will face Cliff first, then you, then Robin, then the other trainer.
Apparently there’s some sort of delay. You have twelve days to train. They’ll be doing shows and exhibition events in the meantime.
