I got nostalgic last week for playing the Rage CCG from all the way back in 1995. Unfortunately, I also got on ebay and bought two boxes of sealed Umbra booster boxes before my nostalgia subsided.
Bear with me, as this is my first unboxing thread.

The Rage CCG wasn't really well designed but I loved it. I got into it wghen I was around 13, but it was pretty cheap in its final days, I would have got my first starter deck for AU$5 in bargain bins, and when the line finally shut down I bought about 5 assorted booster boxes for AU$8 a piece. Including baseline, Wyrm, Umbra and Legend of the Tribes. I only ever saw 1 booster pack of War of the Amazon.
Umbra is in my opinion the weakest set, and I already had most of the set.
First booster, I've never seen Caern of the Western Eye or Parting the Velvet Curtain. The Caern allows Children of Gaia allies to vote in moots.

Caern of the bloodfist might get some play, though I haven't played much Get of Fenris. The GlassWalker's are more my Jam.

Faerie Armour is good, you ignore Rage 2-3 damage cards. Heart of Midnight immunises you against Gifts. SeeksTruth and Bjorn Blood-From-Stone are chaff characters. I've never seen Memory Ribbon.

Here's the Foil realm for this box. The Summerland. Unfortunately, its the only foil I've already got in my collection.
Fireclaw is excellent in that his Rage 1 and 2 damage cards are aggravated.
Scent of Distnction is new to me, but not very useful in friendly kitchen table games.

Caern of the Weeping Daughters is the Red Talon caern, it prevents anyone attacking them from Frenzy and -1 to their Rage. I guess Shakey Mac is okay for an Umbral deck that get victory points of low Rage spirit enemies.
I already have a tonne of Shakey's and Jennifer Moon-Wizend's and I don't play Children of Gaia, although that CoG Caern from the first booster may set up a CoG Moot Deck.

Wyldstorm is new, and a troll card. Every highest reknown pack member is divested of gifts and fetishes and redistributed randomly to other packs. I can't imagine its a path to victory unless you're playing a weenie pack.
Oh and a Nexus Crawler: 17 points worth of Victory and you have to play your combat hand randomly.

The Wheel of Ptah is okay, it's got the best gauntlet garaunteeing you pack can access the Umbra and preventing moonbridge assaults. I always liked the Silent Striders but never had much use out of them. I liked Stalks-Death and Walks with might but never did much with them, another Wheel of Ptah might make them more playable in a lupus deck.
The Dreamspeaker mage is also new, but won't fit in my Umbral Kalindo Mage deck without Uktena or Theurge packmates.
Deep Journey is an excellent fetch cad, Drattosi are good enemy prey for Umbral focussed decks, but you're still in for a fight to get those points.
Caern of the Awakening is pretty good for milling your Sept deck, makes me want to play Bonegnawrers more.
Phoebe totem is pretty useless as are most gauntlet flux cards. In my limited experience you have to bloat your deck with garbage to make them work. More Jennifer Moon-Wizened and Seeks the Truth that aren't worth playing.

Caern of the Snow Leopard allows you to save a character from death and bring them back fresh IF they die in the Umbra. That'll be going into my Umbral Kalindo deck.
Nightmare Coin ends a combat.
Morozki does aggravated damahge in the physical world, making it good for Umbral decks who can get in the Umbra and prevent others joining them while still using the Morozki to damage packs who go after it in the physical hunting grounds.
Fireclaw does aggravated damage with Rage 1 or 2 cards. I'll have to rethink a RT deck.

The Caern of the Tri-Spiral is the Fiana Caern and gives the pack +2 gnosis for casting gifts. Not terribly useful unless you're big gnosis Fianna gets taken out early or you're relying on gnosis boosts to play your cards.

Caern of the Painted Sands is the Wendigo caern. They can play Pack Totems without meeting the requirements and have "more than one" totem. Some totems are definitely better than others, so I may build a Wendigo deck around this.
Nocturna is an enemy that turns Kinfolk into enemies. I'm not sure if that's too useful, but I may slot a couple into my sneaky Shadowlord deck.

Finally a new character, Naomi. Low health, theurge uktena. She can start the game in the Umbra, but can't be in a pack with other Uktena. (I usually play single tribe packs). She might get some play. Her artwork is by Lawrence Allen Williams who was my favourite homid artist, but really floundered with the Crinos forms. (He also did Nadia Wyrmfoe and Wahya-Ohni in this set, the Lupus looks fine.)

Nightmaster has a nice gimmick, forcing anyone who retreats from it to lose their highest gnosis fetish. Any fetishes it takes go to the character who defeats it. I usually slot it into my Shadowlord decks (it can use their gifts).

Caern of the Rescent Moon is the silver fang caern, doubling the reknown of one character for a moot, but preventing them from taking the alpha role on the next round. This'll go in my King Albrecht deck to spoil my Margrave Konietzko Moot Master deck.
This is the first time I've seen Moon Bridge Attack.

Another foil realm, this time one I've never seen. Pangaea - when defending, your characters aren't affected by non-fetish equipment. Defending characters also gain one gnosis.
Another moonbridge attack.
Another Hyperion. Much better than Luna, giving you the ability to regenerate scary aggravated damage, but you have to complete an umbral quest first.
Memory Ribbon is new to me, some nice anti-Frenzy for 5 gnosis.

In all the excitement I missed a booster with some more chaff. The boring Shadowlord Caern that can't be stolen was the highlight.

Dreamspeaker Mage requires uktena or Theurge, but can enter or leave the umbra once per turn whenever they want and can also cancel any gift once a turn. They're too fragile to field directly with only 3 health, but they can cast any Auspice gift.
Runs without Pack is a Fianna that has two strikes against him: "Art" by SCAR and won't participate in pack actions. I build my Fiana decks around Bones of William Wallace, so although he's probably a bit cheap, he's not going to get much play for being a loner.

Firt time seeing the Uktena caern, gives them the full renown rewards for defeating and binding spirits instea of half points. Pretty good, but I think i only have one.

Wahya-Ohni again. He's not bad but doesn't fit in with my other Wendigo. I was hoping i'd get another copy og his fetish warpaint because it gives another Garou his specal ability, but no such luck yet.
Nothing amazing at this point. That gives me three Caerns of the awakenings for Bonegnawrers and Four of the Caern of the Snow Leopard (3 copies is the sept card limit). Wahya-Ohni and Naomi's Crinos war forms show off LAW's weakness when drawing without references.

Caern of Bygone Visions is the Black Fury caern, they can pull a fetish from their sept during the moot phase. Now I've got 2, but I don't run Furies.
Wyldstone is another one I've only seen in this box. It acts like a shapeshift or a +1 gnosis.

Another nightmaster giving a full playset.
Stormcrow, a weenie ally that could be interesting except its too weak and too rare for its special ability to pack combine to ever come into use. This must be my second Umbra box, and this is the first i've ever seen (and its in my Rare slot, where I've found all those foils) disppointing.
Doctor Stephen "Mindbender" Garrison is the sole glasswalker in this set and he's outclassed by the theurge glasswalker Roger Daly from the base set.
Pack Reprimand will go in my dick moves deck.
Umbra was the first set for the Rage CCG and I feel it was pretty limited. Considering 30 cards is a legal sept deck, the umbra introduces too much card bloat that is better if both players agree to ignore it.
The characters are all midrange and laregly forgettable.
I've got another box of Umbra but i may just keep it for a rainy day, instead of inflicting it on anyone here.
If anyone's interested this is now a Rage General. I've got ready access to the rest of my collection if anyone is interested in having a look.

I opened the other booster box. Two bosters had an extra card, followed by an underpopulated booster.
I got another Summer Country foil, (the third in my collction and was resigned to that, but the very last boster cntained anther realm foil, Legendaryo.
Legendary - when defending, your lowest attribute is increased by 2.
