You wake up the next morning troubled, wondering about your encounter with the strange nameless assassin. You hope to encounter him again, after all you are interested in developing control over temporal powers yourself, and his help could be invaluable.
Also you wonder if he was the only assassin sent after you, Kulrathe, Breaker and Garrax all faced off against small armies, why only a single assassin for you?
Wrapped in your arms and tentacles, the Rainyas stir and wake, one kissing you sleepily on the cheek “Morning Shee” she murmurs, only partly awake.
“Morning Rainya” you respond, kissing her back in a distracted way, still puzzled about last nights encounter.
Upon rising and starting breakfast, you find a letter, an actual paper letter, laid on the table, scrawled on the outside of the envelope in what looks like Gambons writing is “found this in the kitchen at closing time”. It's addressed to you.
You give it a quick once-over with your senses both magical and mundane but it doesn't seem dangerous.
You open it. The letter reads:
-You have impressed me, I offer you help in claiming your Hive in your own name. If you wish to meet then use the address below to set a time and a place and I will send a representative to explain.-
The letter is unsigned, but smells faintly of unwashed animal, and blood.
The letter lists a comm address that can only accept text messages. You've seen these before – a favourite of criminals due to their temporary nature and being nearly impossible to trace when the account-holder retrieves the messages.

Thats a pretty steep nerf.

I guess? They're still a large investment for a poor return with an inherent weakness attached. If XP, Dexterity of Baalzamon would be better. Psychic Energy, just obliterate them without the rigamarole.

What they are good for is integrating weapons into our tentacles to pump the damage up.

Yeah, it'd be a pretty bad idea to use antinite now but a bit more impossibility and corruption and we can make it so assimilated antinite doesn't penalize us.
As for the focuses, yeah cost would be a hassle. I can understand if people don't want to do it since high level Tally the Slain is the only alternative we have currently to blowing fucktons of xp outright.
You hand the note around to your friends over breakfast and ask for their input.
“Could be a trap” opines Rainya “will they ever learn that you're too awesome for such things?” She winks at you.
“Well it's true I am awesome” you say in a matter-of-fact tone “but our enemies never seem to grasp this.”
“Might be genuine” says Kaelyn “as far as it goes – they could want to 'help' you, since claiming the Hive would presumably involve killing some of their enemies.”
“The smell of blood” says Dev “is this from the bat-Dhampir guy? What's his name?”
“The Red-Eyed Terror” you supply
“Right” says Dev “or someone wants us to think its from him maybe?”
Lirael giggles “or do they want us to think that someone wants us to think that its from him and its really from him but we don't think its from him so we go and meet him thinking its not him but someone in a giant batsuit and then we look really stupid.”
Everyone pauses as they try to untangle Liraels logic.
“She has got a point” says Rainya “it could be anyone, or genuine, or a trap.”
“The only way to find out” adds Kaelyn “is to meet them.”
“They're sending a rep” observed Dev “let me go instead, in case its a trap.”
“Shee can handle whoever it is!” argues Lirael “my sis ain't afraida no punk-ass bitch!”
“Lirael?!” You chide her as everyone turns to stare at her. Lirael blushes a little.
“What have you been watching?” asks Kaelyn with a raised eyebrow “been hacking the holo to show you grown-up movies?”
Lirael wisely says nothing.
“So what?” Rainya asks Dev “you're going as bait?”
“A shield” he clarifies “let me do the talking, and the rest of you sneak around and watch, in case its a trap.”

Nurture the Lost Soul
The Ichor in the Depths has built upon the Segmented Soul power to create her own innovation.
This power links the targets soul to yours. If they are killed then their soul is transported to your Realm, but they are unable to leave it, since they are dead. You can bring them back to life at a cost of 50 points of psychic energy, this takes 1 hour. Once bought back to life they can leave your realm normally.
This power cannot be used on a Segmented Soul, nor does it allow you to sacrifice a linked soul for your own survival.
Abilities and powers that trap or destroy a targets soul can prevent targets of this power from being bought back.
Using this power to link to a soul initially, takes a full day, and 100 psychic energy. Only targets listed as those you care for under Strength of the Mother or Family Aspect can be targeted, but targets need not be willing, though they must be present the whole day. This power *can* be dispelled and ended, but the DC is 100 higher than normal, and you will be immediately aware if this power ends.

Limbs Unrivaled is a basic one level gift that let us pump out as much damage as damage focused psychic powers boosted with all our PE, except it could do it every round for no cost and spread its damage between groups or focus on one person. That's on top of being better than maxing out the ambidextrous feat tree that costs more than 5x as much as Limbs Unrivaled does.

It requires all the willpower boosting powers to be that good. Focus Light also requires adept psychokinesis, so that's another power on top of that, but you'll want master in both psycho and meta to make it fully buffed so that's another few powers. That's more than 2. And it starts burning through PE real damn fast if you want to pump out a consistent 500 per round. You're also rolling a fucking huge pile of dice for it so have fun with that inopportune crit when it happens.

Photokinesis does not have a known way to bypass DR.
“Devs plan makes sense” you say “but I think we need to change it a little. Dev” you address him directly “no offence, but if this all goes wrong, you'll be in the line of fire and I can't in all good conscience let you do that.”
Dev tilts his head and nods, as if acknowledging the point.
“So” you say, “maybe its time to do something I've been thinking about for a while – Dev, how would you like me to be able to bring you back if you die?”
Rainyas mouth opens in shock, Lirael seems unfazed, and Kaelyn frowns slightly. Devs eyes widen very slightly.
“You mean” Dev fumbles for the right words “that one ability you told us about a while back – meaning I'd go to your Realm if I died?”
You nod “that one, yes.”
Dev looks thoughtful, looking up at the ceiling, then at the walls, before finally saying “ok, I'll do it.”
Rainya and Lirael both smile, Kaelyns face looks neutral, totally without emotion. You'll need to talk to her about this at some point.
“Ok” you say “so if we set the meeting up for tomorrow....”

You spend the rest of the day linking Devs soul to you, and your Realm. The two of you spend most of the time talking, as you carefully and meticulously use your power for the first time.
You are struck once again by how calm Dev is and how he is able to take the weirdness of what's happening in stride.
Partway through the day, you ask him a question that's been nagging at the back of your mind for a while.
“So after this whole Reunited mess is dealt with” you say to Dev, the two of you in your Realm “where do you see yourself?”
Dev chuckles “if we're all alive you mean?”
“Yeah” you say.
He looks around “Oh I dunno, I can think of worse places to spend eternity than a beach” he says with a slow smile.
You roll your eyes “seriously though, what would you be doing?”
Dev shrugs “helping Lirael and Rainya fix their spaceships they both keep talking about, maybe help the new government or whatever takes over Apollyon after you stamp the fae flat, doing what I think needs doing I guess, how about you?”
“My next steps are already planned out” you say “after this, the Five have said there are other tests, maybe even other Reunited to-”
“No” Dev says firmly.
“No?” you say, looking at him quizzically.
“You can't let them do all the deciding” he says “think about it Shee – if once this was done, and the Gods said 'hey we're immortal, take 100 years off until round 2', what would you do?”
You blink, you haven't thought about it much. What do you say?

The next day you are disguised as just another group of girls, sat in a cafe with Rainya, Kaelyn and Lirael, whilst across the other side of the room Dev has just sat down with what looks like a nondescript mid-hive individual.
He is early 40's, human, wide but not fat, and doesn't appear to be exceptional in any way except....he has an active telepathic link to someone else. You get the feeling that this guy is just as much of a proxy as Dev is pretending to be right now.
-What's he saying?- Lirael demands on the mental link you all share with Dev.
-Just pleasantries- Dev sends back -And asking me to confirm who I am using the arranged pass-phrase, oh now the sales pitch, he represents a powerful and connected individual, best interests form partnership blah blah blah-

Dev continues -ok, some details, can offer a small army to help you take out 'rivals' but wants a non-aggression pact that lasts until one of you pulls out of it, plus 1 week, hmm, seems pretty confident that you won't be able to break it, a power maybe? We could spend PE to make robots in our Realm real as well, and might be able to rig up some kind of automatic reality engine in an infinite robot factory to make X real robots per day.

“Let's face it” Rainya sums it up “This could be almost any Reunited, a real offer, a trap, an attempt to get us to suspect someone, or any combination, we just don't know.”
“Maybe we set up a meeting” argues Dev “say you want to meet his soldiers or whatever they are, and say if they're good enough you'll accept, that way you can find out more without committing.”

You and your friends head your separate ways for the time being, and you head up into your realm, to examine your locket.
It was a gift from your parents but other than that you are unsure exactly what it is, but given what your father was, what he became, maybe there's more to it than meets the eye.
You probe it delicately with your psychic abilities, trying to determine what, if anything makes it special. Nothing happens.
You try some of the different powers you have on it, both psychic powers and Gifts, nothing.
In frustration you pull it off, throw it on the ground and stare at it, trying to will it into giving up its secrets. Then you feel a tiny glow of psychic energy from it. You quickly scoop it up, only for the energy to disappear as soon as you touch it.
Ok...ok... you think, so its hidden when you're touching it, interesting, you almost never take it off. You lay it down on the sand and try probing it again.
Despite its weak psychic signature you read a wealth of complex webs of psychic powers once you probe it carefully, but they're dormant, inactive. They need powering somehow.

You head to the psychic research facility, with Rainya and Lirael in tow. First you and Lirael scout around, to see what you're dealing with. It's not good.
Beastmen and fae are everywhere, occupying the whole facility and key locations have strong chaos magic wards on them now. You are pretty sure you can break through them, but not without raising all the alarms.
The psychic activation chamber is one such area, you can't get in, but you hear enough gossip and grumbling from the beastmen to hear that 2 whole new levels of the chamber have been uncovered, though the final one only has a pair of chambers.
The beastmen are also unhappy that their fae overlords are putting them into the psychic activation tanks...with a high failure rate. Many of the beastmen are dying in the tanks, and only a small number are coming out with stable psychic abilities. There are also those that survive, with unreliable abilities that are horribly deformed. And insane.
Still, that gives you an idea...
The bright spot is that other than deactivating the facilities AI, the fae and beastmen have left much of the technology of the place intact, as if they don't understand it, or simply don't care about it.
When you've searched as much as you can, you discuss your plans with Lirael and Rainya.
Together you sow chaos and confusion, turning them against one another. Using your powers of mind control and illusion you and Lirael inflame tensions and jealousies. There are many tribes of beastmen here and they do not get along – they cooperate only out of fear of their fae lords. It is easy to start small disputes between them, and escalate them into larger and larger conflicts.
At the same time Rainya uses her new powers to imitate various beastmen and even fae, giving contradictory orders, sowing mistrust and generally making everyone in the facility paranoid.
Over the coming days, your efforts begin to bear fruit.
You enjoy particular success: your greatest achievement is goading the deformed semi-successful beastmen psychics into a full—blown riot, resulting in many of them being killed when the fae arrive to quell the disturbance. You also get to see that although they are unstable, the beastmen psychics are strong. Individually they are no threat to you, but there are hundreds (or at least, there were) in the facility, and going by rumours and chatter, even more were empowered and then moved out to other locations.
Lirael however gets careless and is spotted by a fae powerful enough to resist her illusions. She is pursued by the fae and his guards and ducks into a store room long enough for you to arrive to rescue her. You get there in time and together you defeat the fae and his guards but...
“Shee I'm really sorry” says Lirael, twisting her fingers together “I didn't know, I didn't mean it....”
“It's ok” you say, somewhat numbly, patting her head “you're more important, this just...stuff.”
Although that's true, the sight of the bullet-riddled and smashed up chassis of the X-3 supercomputer is still putting a lump in your throat.
“I just had to flee somewhere” says Lirael, on the verge of tears now “I didn't mean for it to be here.”
“It's fine, its fine” you try to reassure her, still staring at the wreck of the X-3 “it's fine...”
After a week the forces holding the facility are in complete disarray and you can easily steal whatever you want, but this place is being used to mass-produce beastman psychics, and something needs to be done about it.
What are you going to do?
