I bought it on PC and use a wheel and holy shit trust me it's not worth getting a wheel for it or anything. The AI are awful and although the cars are pretty fun and there's a good selection (like the Waltrip cars) there's still so many other better games out there you can get for cheap. Although tbf the best games are only on PC when it comes to racing games. I was just so hype for PC that I think that's why it hurts so much more. Doing a career mode in that game is suicide. F1 2016 is my only hope otherwise it's back to Rfactor and NASCAR racing 2003.

I don't know if Project Farts has the option, but generally in every (serious) racing sim to be able to play with a controller I set the steering linearity decently low. This is necessary to keep the car on a steady line instead of having the steering wheel fidgeting all over the place because the analog stick is too sensitive.

believe me when I say that I turned on almost every controller aid available, and I *still* have a hard time keeping the rear tires planted coming off the faster turns. It's still one of the best offline racing experiences you can have. You can download it for free and even if you have a shitbox for a PC you could probably run it. And yes the mod community had been doing absolute work on it. My favorite mod is the Aero 88 cars.

Steering linearity isn't really an aid, it's just a setting like sensitivity. Regardless, it seems your problems are with traction anyway.
Not knowing the game I really can't tell if it's you or it. I play rF2 with a controller, no FFB and no aids, and I don't really have a problem doing it (I do spin out, but it's never a problem with the controls, I'm just too eager to get on the throttle).
So, what is Red Bull going to do with Sainz? He seems to be turning into a reliable, boring midfield driver, a career #2. Yes he's BTFOing Bylat but that not much of an accomplishment. Would like to think he has a few cheeky podiums in his future but it would take some major fuckery for him to win a race.

Sainz performed just as well as Amx at Toro Rosso last year, and is pulling the '16 car with an old Ferrari engine into the top 10 almost every race

The whole KYV/VES swap put VES on a high, and SAI on a low because he probably feels overlooked. Then VES won Spain, which made KYV feel shit, hence his ridiculously crap performance since.
I presume KYV will last until they find someone too replace him with, and SAI will jump ship, or replace RIC if he jumps first. SAI is definitely a good consistent driver, similar to RIC but he doesn't seem to have the potential RIC did. He'll probably replace Massa/Button/Hulk/Grosjean. He could come good, and he does have shining moments.

I have rFactor 2 and while I can just about drive with a controller it's a number of seconds slower then the AI and I can only do it on certain mods.
When I plug my wheel in everything is fine though.
Even if i get it drivably with a controller the tyres are destroyed in less than 10 laps because for most corners the tyres heat up to 200+°C
