Arsenal's u21 team is bang average and I assume at this point in the season most of the good kids or out on loan or injured.

Every u21 team in England has 16/17/18 year olds playing regularly.

See the similarity?
Wenger only cucks defenders, maybe CMs as well.
He's got a boner for attacking midfielders and strikers and is willing to give them a million chances (Walcott, Ox, even friggin Gervinho before he was sold) based on 1 or 2 good performances per season.

Meanwhile you have Campbell, Iwobi etc getting frustrated on the bench and losing their edge.

I really do hope that he gives Soupman and Kenobi more chances until the end of the season, it would benefit the club greatly.
It would also benefit Walcott when you think about it, he's better as a supersub (same can be said about Giroud, hence DatGuy should be the starting striker)
>>
>>66452533

Depoopchy got unlucky twice and reacted badly to Bellerin being picked. Can't blame Wenger for that.

Pressure.

This squad is perfectly capable of winning the title, they just don't have the mental strength, and when the pressure gets to them, they collapse.
>>
>>66452766
There was literally no pressure on them when they lost to West Ham, West Brom, Swansea or Watford. There wasn't even any pressure when they played against Utd's B team.
They pressure only comes after we lose lad.

There was absolutely no pressure on the team when we were top of the table in January.

>>
>>66452797
West Ham and West Brom were both fluke results.

There was pressure on us during Swansea, Watford, and United because we had been in a poor run of form, and because around January/February we reached that point of the season where the table starts to solidify and the champions begin to become evident, so every match became a must-win. We couldn't cope with that.

Of course there was pressure on the team when we were top of the table. We were fucking top of the table.

the team actually responds quite well in do or die situations

when they beat leicester, the rescuing of points against spurs, the olympiakos game, the run to save 4th etc

their problem is when they expect to win. monaco, west ham, the first couple of cl games, all those games you listed

they go into the game thinking i know the game isn't over yet but come in it's ... we've already won let's celebrate

and then they lose. their game plan goes to pot because they are careless and they don't know how to rescue it.

this is very accurate to be fair
>>
>>66452915
They can respond well to do or die situations when they're below expectations.

When they hit a shit patch and the questions start being raised about whether this'll be the year they drop out of the top 4, they'll rev up the engines and become good. Or whether they'll be eliminated from a shitty group in the group stages of the CL, they'll rev up the engines and turn things around.

But ACTUAL pressure, real pressure, actually living up to expectations, they can't deal with. They lower the expectations, and then exceed those low expectations to make it look like they're good at "exceeding expectations" and all that shit.

If that makes sense.

And yeah, they also underestimate smaller teams.
>>
>>66454793
A squad with Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil, and a 20something goal a season striker in attack, Coquelin, Jack, and Ramsey (even though he's shit now) in midfield, and Petr Cech, Monreal, Kosc in defence is perfectly capable of winning a Premier League title.

They are that good.

They just don't have the mental strength or the discipline to actually challenge.

The staff at Arsenal needs some serious looking into desu. The manager's shit, the medical team is shit, and their clearly needs to be a better form of psychology at the club, because players drop into irrecoverable periods of shit form for way too long (see Ramsey, Ozil, Ox, etc) and the team as a whole doesn't seem to have the mental capability to challenge for an entire season.
>>
tfw no based wilshere
>>
Who's fault is it for the poor development of a lot of our young players like Jack and Ox?

Is it their fault? The club's fault? The media's fault?

I don't think I'll ever get over the frustration of knowing that Jack and Ox still aren't top class players, and there's a high chance they'll never reach that level.

lel

Wilshere at 16 is better than everyone in this team except ozil, cazorla sanchez and based campbell
>>
>>66455725
I think it's more than just the injuries, you know. At least with Ox.

I mean yeah there's definitely an issue with our medical staff because the constant injuries to our players is no fluke, but I think there's so much more to it.

Why is it that these young English players at Spurs are able to seamlessly come up into the first team and into the international setup with seemingly no issue?

Dele Alli and Oxshit have come from very similar circumstances. Both joined a big Premier League side from a League One side. One showed a lot of promise but never built on that promise and then just started to regress. The other showed a lot of promise, built on that promise, began improving, forced his way right into the first team, and is now an established international and it's pretty much unanimous that he deserves to be in the England setup.

Ox was supposed to be the one with the most potential. But look what's happened.

I guarantee if Ox went to Spurs he would be becoming a fucking Bale-esque world beater.
>>
>>66455685
>>66455834
also he has developed fine except for injuries
>>
>>66455834
People forget how inconsistent he is.

I guess that's partly attributed to injuries though.

But he's always been better for England than he has been for Arsenal.
>>
>>66455685
>wilshere
His main issue is injuries, if he didn't have them I'm sure he would be great, he looks good most of the time anyway, but the added game experience would help him become better

>chamberlain
Think this one has to be down to Wenger. He's just never really been taught how to play football. Wenger doesn't care about that.
>>
>>66455685
Jack is genuinely a top class player already. It's just the club's fault that he never plays. Every time he's come back from an injury he's looked better and stronger than before.
"Poor development" doesn't apply to Wilshere at all. It's just poor management of his injuries by Arsenal.

As for Ox, it's a combination of him not trying to develop and the club/manager allowing him to be complacent and get away with not improving. Feels like they've never gave him any instructions or training.
>>
>>66455838
the problem with chamberlain is his attitude

he thinks he has made it, that he is a top player

dele alli could fall just as hard. oz was good in the 1st season then became shit in every other. difference is alli doesn't rely on speed like chamberlain.

personally i think ox has to play as either 10 or 9 for a lower level or foreign club. his shooting is too shit and cant shift across from wide to get into scoring positions. also loses the ball too much to play in c mid

>oz was good in the 1st season

But it was a different level of good than Alli.

Ox scored a few goals in the cups and looked a decent player, was given a chance in the first team due to injuries, took it, but didn't exactly cement it. Not that many goals or assists and there haven't been many since.

Alli forced himself into the team much quicker, kept scoring, kept assisting, got called up to the England squad, scored a goal, forced himself into the England team, etc etc etc.
>>
>>66456078
Should have signed Martial and Carrasco on that day desu
>>
>>66455582
Coquelin can't get into the French squad, half of them can't stay fit and outside from Özil and Monreal, none of them can perform consistently over a full season, Giroud is shit.

They're good enough only in a hypothetical situation that will never occur anyway. Granted, they're not getting much help by being managed by someone who isn't good enough either.
>>
Friendly reminder that Monreal isn't that good.
>>
>>66456460

Ox somehow never learned how to pass or do anything other than dribble at people in the time he has been here. Look at Iwobi and even Gnabry a couple years ago. Solid passers who link up with others well.

Its like he has accepted that running fast, dribbling, and hitting the post are his only strengths.

Does the Ox still have a future at Arsenal? He hasn't seemed to have done much in any season there.
>>
>>66477321

I'm puzzled as to why Wenger and Hodgson rate him so highly. Would like to assume it's something I'm completely missing in his game. Still think he's very one dimensional and developed very little during 5 (five) years at Arsenal. Mid-table player to me.

We could probably con someone into paying a decent amount for Ox this season. I've seen him linked with Southampton, West Ham and Man City all in the past couple months.
Doubt anyone at all would be interested in Walcott.

Probably Walcott as he's older and earns way too much. But like >>66477416 said Ox would be easier to offload.

No one has fucked Leicester's shit up this season aside from, ironically, Arsenal. They are the favorites in every game from now till the end of the season. Leicester, who have only lost 3 times all season, need to lose a further 3 times and Arsenal have to win pretty much every single game left this season.

>>
>>66483655
>Cazorla would actually score goals

No he wouldn't. He's lost his goalscoring ability with age.

He used to play the Ozil role except more direct and more goalscoring, now he plays deeper in the midfield. He's had to adapt his game to his decreasing physical ability, similar to Arteta.

He was like Payet when he first came though.

Earlier this season he scored two in a match for Spain and looked like he was 1st season at Arsenal Cazorla.
Wenger must have coached him out of shooting so often, but fuck knows why he always decides to shoot at defenders these days.

>>66483738
How are they not the same? They are exactly the same type of player

Wenger just ruined Cazorla by putting him on the wing
>>

No they are not at all. Payet is those moment of magic players who literally does nothing for most of the game. He's more comparable to Arshavin.
