Comfy thread for vidya. Vidya is comfy in it's own right so we're mainly talking about that. What have you been playing? I'm about to play pic related.
haven't played recently but it was comfy

It's gone to complete shit and the community has been filled with 12 year old autists.
>>25324552
oblivion was maximum comfy
I used to enjoy just walking around the waterfront area in the imperial city
the arena was really fun too
Shit I might need to go back and play this
I fucking hate the community but i love this amazing game. People who talk shit about this masterpiece should be killed.

>>25324602
It's always been shit and filled with 12 yr olds, you just happened to be one of those 12 yr olds and finally grew out of it to notice.
I got a PS4 for christmas along with the Uncharted collection. I started playing Drake's Fortune yesterday and I like it. I heard 2 and 3 are even better.
I mean I guess I wouldn't call Uncharted "comfy" per-se, but it's not too bad.
>>25324667
Almost anything Nintendo is comfy. Imo, they're the comfy kings.
Animal Crossing being the ultimate comfy game series.
>>25324786
>>25324725 means that the two things kind of contradict each other because being so agressive and defensive over a game(unless it a goat like half life 2 or dude sex) can be considered cancerous
>>25324923
i did think animal crossing was very comfy but it becomes such a chore after a while, at least for me it does.
>>25324738
Uh.. I'm gonna assume you put the wrong image.
I just remembered about this game. Good strategic shooting, and somewhat moving to boot. Always sucks to lose one of your high kill count vets over something stupid. Kind of easy for the age of it, but still fun.
>>25324552
The homes you could buy in Oblivion were comfy as fuck, I would love to build one.

Agreed. I got too obsessed with trying to complete everything, like getting all furniture, museum complete, etc. Catching a Sea Bass for the millionth time was frustrating as hell when you just wanted to catch those few rare fish.
>You caught a Sea Bass! See. Bass!
Fucking everytime...
>>25325348
Not comfy at all, if you're not a shitter this game is literally yhe least comfy.
Except if you do low level twink pvping or something.
fable 2 is a nice comfy game
What constitutes "comfy" to you guys? Because I see different kind of games here, some which I wouldn't really call comfy.
To me, comfy games are the kind of games that don't rush you through missions, like CoD games do. I just wanna take my sweet time exploring places and taking it easy. No rushing or Michael Bay sound effects all over the place. Think more Animal Crossing and less CoD/Gears of War.
Journey is a prime example of a comfy game. Just exploring, soothing soundtrack and no rushing.
>>25324607
I tried replaying Oblivion a couple years ago and it was complete disappointment. I just couldn't immerse myself and ended up sprinting through some of my favorite quests before finally saying fuck it
Harvest Moon.
>>25326185
Mah nigga. I'm downloading this shit again right now.
I found the game-play and story completely forgettable but the fucking comfy atmosphere in some of the game areas has been pretty much unmatched, and the music too.

Anything with a nice, immersive environment that you can explore at your own pace and preferably a slow one.
I see a lot of TES games and other open-world games ITT which are a safe bet.
Something like most GTA I wouldn't really describe as comfy since there's not much free-roaming to do, you're just mission-to-side-quest and you're always zooming along in a sports car or jet plane or something, and the environment is typically hit or miss
>>25324792
>castle fully repaired
>enter brighthollow
comfyness overload
>>25327751
I agree with the GTA thing, but both SA and V have some very nice settings outside the cities. Roaming the woods in both games can be pretty comfy because you dont necessarily have to engage anybody and you can just walk/run or get a bike.
But yes, I agree with you that open world games are safe bets for comfy times for sure.
>>25324799
Will hAve to check that out
>>25327985
V is hit or miss when it comes to the comfyness, of course it doesn't help that I have the PS3 version.
but yeah like you said, outside the city it's great but inside the city it's pretty bland and I just can't wait to get out of there. Even just up on the vinewood hills like just above Michael's house or down by the beach is more tolerable.

>>25330789
Vanilla skyrim is kinda shit. If you're gonna play I'd recommend at least using the requiem mod, it gives the game a billion times more depth. If you wanna go balls to the wall get Frostfall and IMCN as well.

DS 1 & 2 are like this for me
Mount and blade is top tier comfy
Divinity 2: DKS is my favorite game to date. It's comfy as fuck too, and has a great ass soundtrack.
>>25324963

On topic: I'm just installing Morrowind now and I've never played it before. Should I try it vanilla or is there no point? Also, is there any way I can play it with a 360 controller?
>>25334013
Also thinking about dling Morrowind. INterested in an answer to this.
>>25334013
You could probably play morrowind with a controller but it would be fucking awful, don't.
Vanilla is fine but you could get MGO if you really can't stand the dated graphics/view distance.
>>25333900
I feel it homie. Resident Evil 4 and Hotline Miami are my two autismo games.
>>25334036
I want to play it on my laptop and I don't have a proper mouse for it. Figured a controller might work. I've been a console pleb until very recently so there's that too. Outdated graphics don't bother me though.
>>25334108
the menus would just take forever with a controller, trackpad would work better desu
A console version of morrowind does exist, probably reconfigures the menus for controller.

Take this comment or leave it; and I know it's not for everyone, but there is a way to feel like a child again.
Cannabis. Thew few times i have gotten high blew me away, an incredible magic was injected into every experience. Food, tv shows, movies, music and fucking video games. I could not believe how much fun I had when playing video games when high, and I just couldn't put my finger on why. I thought it just immersed you more, but there was something much deeper.
Wonder. Sweet, innocent childlike wonder. It suddenly all made sense, I remembered how I felt playing video games for the first time as a kid, the excitement and discovery and pure fun. It had all come flooding back. Pure joy and excitement was felt blasting away enemies in my old favorite games, as well as new ones, exploring the levels, story lines and characters where captivating, a smile stitched to my face for hours and hours. I treasure every opportunity I get to smoke.

Fuck, is this going to be legal in CA soon?

I replay this one from start alot. Sometimes all the way sometimes just to gold item level. Always males me smile. Progress without frustration. Mount and Blade. Slow game great for just chilling. , Skyrim, model with flora and random start and hard core mode. Pillars of Eternity is a good one as well not ad repayable as the others though.

ED is an autistic trucking simulator where you grind for the next ship, you have little to no effect on the global economy or world events.
Then you occasionally get ganked by players if playing online through the laggy buggy peer-to-peer system.
Ships looks nice and handle well, duels can be fun but most of the game is a dull massive time sink.
Full game price expansion released as well without fixing any core structural problems.
Visit /EDG/ on /vg/ to get a more detail run down on everything wrong with the game.
