No, the markets are too volatile right now to even consider doing this.
The bank of England has already enacted special measures.

This. It's called democracy. Sometimes you get what you want and sometimes you don't. This is what those idiotic students and lefties don't understand. The UK has bigger things to be worrying about. There pm resigned, the bank of England has ordered special measures and a Scotland independence referendum is on its way. I see these idiotic petitions on a regular basis that achieve nothing. "Let's ban trump hur dur I have no political expierence hur dur or what will happen if it works hur dur" What happened to that petition? It wasn't considered. All theses salty fucks got a good slap of democracy. Now they must deal with the consequences.

Why are liberals and leftist, those who proclaim to love democracy, acting in the most undemocratic manner possible after the result was completely fair and square? How can they think they can just arbitrarily set the conditions on a democratic process until they get what they want? That's not how democracy works, nor should it be.

Yes. 48% of people didn't want this and a lot of people that voted leave regret it. If we did a 2nd EU Referendum but this time with just facts, not lies, remain will easily win.

There is a case for a second vote, simply on the grounds that constitutional change should possibly require a super-majority.

At the same time, these 'we are the 48'ers should STFU accept that most of the country is not happy with the current euro arrangement and make their peace with the fact that the EU as we know it will not exist by 2020.

oh you mean the couple of people the media now shows you the same media that was always for remain. lol If remain wins you would also have a couple on the otherside ..but i would bet you never hear from them.
Is your brain really that stupid? Also even if there is a second vote it will always be close which means the leave side should they lose has the same right to hold a third vote all things being equal ;P You really should upgrade your brain.
>>
>>78657256

>a lot of people that voted leave regret it.

Don't be so sure. Do these 17 million votes mean nothing to you? You think we should just sit down and listen to our betters? Then convince me. Cause you just had ten weeks to make a positive case for the EU and failed massively.
>>
>>78657257

Turnout was like 70% wasn't it? In most countries you only need like 30% to get it to be accepted as the choice of the people. People can choose not to partake in democracy, but they shouldn't complain and retroactively try to undo made decisions before there's even a chance to see what is happening.
>>
>>78654132
well, that's how a lot of people feel about mass immigration, only there never was a referendum about that, I really enjoy these impotent tears, get rekt cucklords
>>
>>78657952

do you know how unlikely it is to get a 60/40 vote in favour of anything on this scale

literally nothing will ever change if that's the case

maybe we can go back to joining the EU vote and retroactively dismiss that too. which we can because it's 63% turnout, the remain vote didn't count.
>>

Would a second referendum realistically even matter?
Didn't the EU pretty much say, you vote out and you're out, there will be no further negotiations or special agreements for this point? I mean the EC and the EU leaders were pretty clear on this point.

Realistically, you can have as many referendums as you want, but if the EU authorities don't want you back it's pretty much just a giant waste of money.
I actually get why the EU has taken this stance, if they didn't, a leave referendum would be just a bargaining chip for countries to get what they want and then just cancel the triggering of article 50.

It's not that straightforward though, the list "signatures by country" only has 393823 votes while the "votes by constituency" has 1065263 votes so i'm not sure how they are dividing them, it doesn't mean only one third is from the uk though

Cuck off.

Why the fuck would you want to remain now anyway? Many EU members, particularly France, are drawing up plans for their own referendums, the EU IS a fucking sinking ship, it just took the UK having the nads to vote on leaving to inspire the others.
>>

Apparently not. Besides, why would the government need to petition the government.
>>
>>78663001

>>
>>78658184

turnout was 70% of registered voters, a lot of the 18-24s probably didn't even bother registering.

regardless it was our highest turnout for an election since 97, these fucks don't have a leg to stand on, if it was 76% they'd just say 80% was required.

At the end of the day it's completely arbitrary, it's your right to not register or to not vote, if you're too lazy why should we have to vote again on the same issue?

Ignorance is not an excuse, this was a major issue in the news for weeks before the vote. People chose not to vote.
>>
>>78657952
I actually hope that this works and you guys cast aside the masks and come out as the neo-Nietzschian fascists that you actually are.

If the Guardian-reading, straight-from-private-school-to-Oxford-to-a-flat-in-Islington-and-a-30,000-pound-a-year-drawing-up-diversity-quotas class really do succeed in pushing through what is basically double - and triple and as-many-times-as-we-fucking-need-for-us-to-get-our-way - jeopardy then you will be campaigning openly and undisguisably on the platform that you were covertly campaigning on in the first referendum campaign: "Shut up and obey your betters, you overweight, badly-dressed, ignorant, ugly plebs. We love the oppressed and the marginalized but only if they are lean and olive-skinned and thrillingly virile and dangerous like Ahmed and Jamal here. You, being dirt-poor without being sexy, have no point or purpose for existing except to squat in your ugly Northern hovels and do absolutely nothing that might make us mad."

I'd just fucking LOVE to see a political struggle fought out in England on a platform like that - which was the political platform Jo Cox and her friends were fighting on all along anyway, even if they were too "good and kind and gentle" to ever state it in those terms. Because forcing through a second vote would make it finally DOUBLY AND DEFINITIVELY clear to the people of Rotherham, and Merthyr Tydfil, and Basildon, and Luton, and Sunderland that that IS what this is all about at bottom - and then there would be a hell of a lot more bodies left lying on the road than just Jo Cox's.
Come at us, you arrogant metropolitan cunts. We're readier every day.

>>
>>78662040
That's correct. Because the Senate is made up of only a handful of Representatives. They need Congress's clearance in order to limit power.

In a democratic vote where the people vote, they only need a majority by any amount. You're comparing apples to oranges.

>>
>>78663134
>>78663256

Looked a bit closer at it. There are a total of 1053488 signatures in the signatures_by_constituency array. The results of the parsing itself are here:

http://pastebin.com/nxE9ZHdN
>>
only around 300k of the votes have been from the uk

probably a good chunk of people voting more than once too
>>
>>78657256
And if you loose again, should we expect 3rd one?
>>
>>78663849
That's probably what will happen , there are powerful people who want to remain and they will pull all the ricks in the book to stop BREXIT from happening they'll spew as much propaganda as they can and if they loose and BREXIT succeeds they will just keep trying to revote until they get the result they want.
>>
>>78663790
http://pastebin.com/pRZEFc86
Sorted
So you can put whatever country you want when you sign it and there are in fact votes from islands with like 30 inhabitants in the list but for some reason it doesn't count 2/3 of the votes' country
>>
>>78663790
>>78663134
>>78664261

I got 1446865 total signatures when adding up signatures by constituencies and by country. This is evidently not correct, but I think that it counts some of them double. If you do this:

1446865 - 353988 = 1092877

You get the correct result at the time that I got the json. In other words, not all of the constituency signatures are counted as UK signatures for some reason, while the ones that do are counted double up from adding them together like this.

It's a bit weird, but yeah, about 1 million of the signatures are actually from the UK.
>>
>>78654132
>Lets vote until the result is the one we want

Those people did not understand democracy
>>
>>78664380
Not quite because you can just put a british postcode and sign it pretending to be british, there is no way to know how many are real from the json data afaik
>>
>>78664496

There will be inaccuracies, but I doubt that most people are autistic enough to look up UK postal codes just to sign an internet petition.

I'm guessing that the signatures by country array is data acquired by the IP address' registered region to figure out which country it is from. Therefore it is susceptible to proxies, and it's probably why only a third of the British signatures are counted as such.
>>
>>78664844
Well i don't think people are autistic enough to look for a proxy with an ip from "South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands", it probably takes the country from what you put in the form with no check and the constituency from the postcode

Hello BBC,

Regarding your 'million sign petition for 2nd EU referendum' news story:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-36629324

Please note that not even half those signatures are from Great Britain.

This is evident from the transparent signature data which is available from a link Get petition data (json format)' on the signature web page.

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/131215

Scroll then to the "Get petition data (json format)" link.

and view the data here:

https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/131215.json

Then search the data (ctrl+f) for "united kingdom"
Which will manifest the actual signature count:

{"name":"United Kingdom","code":"GB","signature_count":353988}

Thanks,

>all that projection
I know damn well what I've done and I know that the results will be nothing like what you think they will be. I predicted what would happen to the markets and was 100% accurate, from the pumping just before, to the sudden drop as people panicked, to the next steep drop as people speculated the shit out of it, to the bounce at the bottom as people made a quick rush to buy cheap, to the markets rallying only slightly down by the end of the day.

And the reason I did it was for sovereignty and self determination, the memes were never the goal. Don't you get it? I voted precisely so we could have these kinds of referendums in the future. I got everything that I voted for and the outcome is exactly as I had envisioned and the future is looking bright. I knew that a leave vote would cause shockwaves. I know that it would either cause the eurocrats to reconsider their attitude towards the european people or crash the union because they refuse to change, and both cases are a win for democracy and western civilisation.

You seem to think that some great mistake was made that we have leaped into the unknown and face oblivion. But you've failed to understand that we were smart enough to ignore the scaremongering and propaganda. Everything has gone exactly as we said it would, there were no surprises, EVERYTHING WENT ACCORDING TO PLAN.

The only fool here is you. Luckily you'll live to thank me for what I've done.

There was never an equivalent vote to join the EU. Also the UK has no formal constitution so there are no rules at all. It would be much different for the u.s. because our Constitution has very strict and precise rules about what requires a constitutional amendment. And every state did end up ratifying the constitution so things were fair.

Bitch all you want, but good or bad the short sighted Brits refusing to make a formal constitution like the rest of the civilized world means a 51/52% vote means they do that action 100%.

How is that short-sighted? The British legal system is one of the oldest in the world, and by far the one which has been the most stable (as in the legal system itself).

I would argue it's quite far-sighted to not have a constitution at this point.

>like the rest of the civilized world means a 51/52% vote means they do that action 100%.

A lot of constitutional countries in "the rest of the world" also treat >50% as an absolute majority.
