We propose the the state of the conversation around gaming has become, amongst other things, extremely contentious, and, in many cases, for many people, personally stressful. This is obviously not the reason most of us choose to video game, or engage in the culture of gaming.
What we propose is a new festival to celebrate the wide varieties of expression within the culture of gaming. This will be handled in two parts.
First, a net-symposium, where willing industry, ideological, academic and international perspectives on gaming will be shared and engaged. one of the goals of the "Net Symposium" is to put American Feminism (Described explicitly as such) next to such topics as "Gaming in Russia", "Gaming in Destabilized Countries" or the real coup, "Conservative Polish Gaming Developers." Then we just let CD ProjektRed go all Varg on everything. We'll just let each presenter cultivate a few essays and some info-graphics and stuff.
Secondly, the first Annual #GameEngage game tournament, where critical stars like John Bain and Anita Sarkeesian will face off in a brew ha ha of you know who ha ha.
