If his overhaul of healthcare works then the slightly higher taxes people would pay would be less the money they would save one his healthcare system compared to the current one, i.e. most people would be left with more money in their bank account every year then how it is right now.
There are tons of things about him that are legitimate to criticism but its important to not try to gloss over or twist that point.
