I dont really have a good insight of us military but it seems that once your done and a vet you get dropped like a hot potato and lots of people cant deal with that especially after they've seen some serious fighting, got injured/crippled or killed some young kids with some stray bullets or some shit in a fire fight.

I was in the same position as you, 21 years old with a pretty good life selling cars making around 40k-50k a year, had my own place, my own car, plenty of friends and parties a lot but I wanted something more and naturally turned to the military. Something drew me to the marines and 8 months after visiting a recruiter I was shipping off to Parris island. Been in the fleet about two years and been on one deployment, so far the marines isn't that bad. Definitely beats your average civilian life and I'll be able to go to college for free in two years. Any questions feel free to ask
