My friend is a pulmonary care + sleep medicine doctor and said this happens pretty often - and more recently vaporizer supporters.

From a vaporizing aspect he said they really know know what the affects are, there simply aren't quality long term studies. Marijuana itself we know suppresses REM sleep, so while you may go to sleep longer the sleep is not quality sleep. It's similar to how alcohol interferes with REM.

It's also very hard to dose at this point.

Truth is marijuana has some benefits and it has some negatives, it's not a wonder drug nor an awful one - we just have to use it intelligently.

I hope medical professionals find better ways to use it and a good way to dose it consistently.

Oh, also the argument about "marijuana is natural" is pretty much bullshit also. Anything you put in your body can be a drug.

For example, people take melatonin. Yes, that's natural, but taking it still causes your natural melatonin creation to suppress - which isn't good. This is similar to how a bodybuilder who takes testosterone needs to jump start their natural production when their cycle ends.

Natural does not somehow mean "safe"
