When the West's share of the world economy goes from 50% to 20% in 100 years, would you rather the rest of the world think of us as "those friendly enlightened people who shared their resources and took us in when they had plenty", or "those xenophobic assholes who told us to go fuck ourselves when we needed help"?.
Obviously it would be ideal the West could just remain a white utopia that dominated the rest of the world forever, but assuming that the rest of the world is eventually going to catch up with us economically, we might very well get BTFO if we set ourselves up in opposition to everyone else and then the balance of power shifts away from us.

Mexican education is controlled by syndicates that are corrupted as fuck and greedy.
The government is trying to take their powers away but the syndicate leaders of CNTE is blackmailing the teachers to do their bidding or they will lose their jobs and all their privileges even though they don't teach anything, they have poor knowledge and basically don't do their job.
In this case the government is right and they are trying to improve the education of Mexico, they are trying to remove the teachers that don't approve the requirements so they can be replaced but their leaders totally oppose this because of money.
