This is just as bad as the close up of a flower photos. Just because the water is in focus and the background is all blurry doesn't make it good. The two blurry lights in the background aren't helping either.

Make it smaller when posting it here or people will 'pixel peep'. Otherwise you seem to be using a fablet to photograph so there's not a lot I can say. Avoid using an overcast sky as a background.

I don't know how to make that sky seem less like a white background. It seems on every smartphone that I take photos with, I either get the skies to look right and the subject becomes very dark, or the subject becomes clear and the sky becomes a white background.

congrats, you've found the limitations of your tablet camera. either buy gear that can fix this problem (I strongly advise against this) or read on composition and how to mitigate this issue
