for sure, I agree, I think I was just being over zealous and cropped that one a bit too much. This was on 35 mm but I've been really struck by 120 so I'm cropping most everything to a 1:1. As far as improvement, I'm sure there's plenty that can be done, the biggest impact I think the expiration had was magnifying the grain. Thanks very much. Here's a much better crop in 4:3.

This is overexposed, you need to use a faster shutter speed to 1: get rid of motion blur, 2: get your exposure right
The aperture should really only be set to max (f3.5 in your case) when its really low light. Using something like f8 would be a good start in direct sunlight.
Also pros use auto settings when its appropriate, only need for manual is very tricky lighting situations.
Judging from your camera you probably are newish to photography, just keep shooting!
Although the 600D is still a very good camera.

Just weighing in here. Not sure why you'd need to use sunny 16 when you have a perfectly good light meter and the ability to check your photos immediately. Maybe try aperture priority mode. It's generally better for daytime shooting and still lets you control exposure (within certain bounds of "correct"). Make sure you're using the exposure reading if you do use manual mode - pic related.

i could see what you were going for here. its actually not bad, but with a tweaks it could be better. crop that leaf off to the left out , its distracting. could do with a lil contrast oomph as well to really make those blacks and whites stick out. lastly (not sure what your budget is like) keep an eye out for a 35mm or a 50mm prime 1.8. not sure if momma would let you get close but those primes really pronounce depth of field , has excellent bokeh and really makes your subject stick out. your definitely on the right track

I didn't apply any vignetting, not intentionally anyways - I did lighten some of the space around her head but the rest is from the overhead lights in a dimly lit cabin. Should I have brightened the ceiling some too to get rid of the affect? I just got into post processing so I'm kinda learning as I go.

Really cool colors, even if the composition isn't that good. I don't like the green/violet gradient in the sky in the first one, though. Also that guy on the left against the wall would have made a nice abstract shot.
The second one is a bit skewed, it seems, and would have been better if you were closer up.

Thanks alot, this kind of comment is what I'm looking for. I don't like the purple haze in the sky as well, tried to get rid of it in LR but couldn't find anyway to do so.. even HSL couldn't get rid of it.
Nope didn't get in any trouble, in crowded area's I shot with an 27mm wich is a small pancake lens. Even security guards didn't notice me taking shots even though they were almost next to me. ( is there a prohibition to take photo's on airports? didn't even know lol )
