What the fuck Adobe.
I noticed this after going through a bunch of pics. When I use the "previous conversion" option (not sure if that is what its called in english, sorry), that hideous banding shows up. Only and only when using that. If I input the same very settings manually, it doesn't happen.
Has anyone else experienced this?
>>2714298
Forgot to mention, the banding sticks even if I zero in each slider. I have to pick "default camera settings" in order to get rid of them.
Here's the same pic with the same settings that caused the banding.

Your shadows are blue
And your whites are yellow
Fix this
>>2714303
That's what happens when you shoot shade during the afternoon.
>>2714300
this is what happens when you shoot nikon
>not using Lightroom
>not knowing how to set white balance
How dumb do you have to be?
>spanish origin
oh
>>2714336
I despise lightroom.
You are more than welcome to try set WB on your own; let's see your mad skillz: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3hsgfJQe6qKa3hON2NyTk1yRHc/view?usp=sharing
Let me guess, you are from the US?
>>2714336
it appears OP very well knows how to set the white balance, and is exactly referring to a bug that prevents him from doing it in an efficient way. If only you had the slightest reading comprehension.
>>2714298
never encountered that issue, could be due to how settings are saved maybe? are you (not) using a sidecar file for raws?
>>2714298
essentially your problem is that you haven't a clue what you're doing. Always use camera calibration instead of Adobe, then learn how white balance works, then get a cheap Yongnuo for fill flash.
I mean CHRIST ALMIGHTY a wedding dress isn't supposed to be fucking blue.
fucking hell
Jesus
fuck me
like what the fuck are you doing
>those half-heads of the children
>the bride looking like she's covered in coal dust
>her father's blue hair
oh my god
this is just too much
fuck
>>2714298
The bride looks a dude, man
>>2714343
Thanks, I've found the problem already - although not thanks to the morons here; apparently if you set the chromabs filter too high, it can cause this in certain situations. One of the first shoots of the set was wide open and had some chromabs and that was being passed on by using the same settings.
>>2714344
Relax Billy boy. I wasn't there professionally, just as a guest.
I do know how WB works. You are more welcome to show everyone your knowledge with the raw I provided.
Although I think you are a moron, since you called me on the cut heads, without noticing I zoomed the image, buffoon.
>>2714304
that's why the flash was invented

I think too warm is better than too cold when you have people involved but I don't really know what this picture looks like. Did it on a 1366x768 12-inch screen.

Here's my take on it.
Boring edit perhaps, but not pretending to be artsy with eye-stabbing grading.

Don't you love it when you post a thread asking a photography related question, and all you get is a bunch of pathetic shitcunts commenting about how "terrible" the photo is, when A) He didn't ask for critique, and B) He wasn't even finished editing the photo. You're all a bunch of pathetic faggots, butthurt over the fact that OP actually has a social life and gets invited to events such as weddings, while you sit crying behind your computer screens, jealous and confused as to why no one loves you. Well done you cancerous cunts.
>>2714422
This turned out nice, obviously nothing incredible, but still a good pitcher. I guarantee it's a lot better than anything these armchair photographers can produce.
itt: everyone missing the point
>>2714436
these are horrible. see that huge fucking shadow and see that huge source of gorgeous light behind it? Which did you happen to choose to shoot in? The kid is dark as fuck, banded shadow on the girl, nobody is looking in the right direction, looks forced af. let me guess you said "hey guys now i need you to get over in this super dark shadowy spot and run around and smile but *look natural*". you hosed this shot for sure and the rest are horrible too. but picking that huge blob of darkness to take this???
>>2714511
>the rest are horrible too
Lel, there's only one shoot posted so far in the thread, you enormous faggot. Also op already stated he was a guest, not the photog paid for the gig.
>>2714531
one shot with 15 shitty edits you cock gargling piece of shit. you tell me what he got right here since you're such an expert. he even started cropping the kid's head off! take your camera, wrap the neck/shoulder strap around your neck and hang yourself with it if you're defending this garbage.
>>2714573
0/10.
>>2714573
>he even started cropping the kid's head off!
How many times where you dropped in the head as a kid?
Best I could do in two minutes. No crop is really good, but I decided to go with this one because it would have been nice without the photog in the back and no one else used it before. Could have gone with square, but imitating a 6x6 with digital always looks like shit. Not sure about the WB. My laptop is way too yellow so it might me a little on the cold side.

the other edits were from other people. He posted the raw file so other people could demonstrate that it wasn't necessary to make a wedding dress blue, even if the original shot was shit.

op is bad with a camera even top of the line gear that's why

>>2715312
You know, I'd rather expose for the shade in that case and recover it on post. But then again I'm sure you'll do ten times better than me.
From your basement.
>>2715403
>Holy fuck how badly did you ruin this wedding?
That wasn't me. Also, read the fucking thread.
>>2715235
Because the people are undexposed as fuck in the original. But who cares? Do you need the background? It's rather distracting anyway.
>>2715216
Not much more. There's that girl and half a dude on the right. The Dad is pretty much in the center in the original.

To add to that, I had to add a stop of exposure on top of fiddling with the curve.
Which in numbers, would lead you to a nice sunny16 exposure for the shadows of iso100|f4|1/125s. If the OP had known anything about exposure he could have worked a little better with the colors. Especially the red on the boys pants is fucked.
