Yes, he brakes early and not very hard, sometimes only using engine braking and then accelerates late out of nearly every corner, that combined with his shit shifting is why the cb400 is giving him a race, they should probably swap bikes.

>more constant rpm will get it hot,
explain why that would get it hotter than continuously revving the piss out of it to keep it in power band
>>
>>15274793
when you engine brake the piston sucks cold air in and blows hot air out, since the amount of fuel is much lower what little combustion happens doesn't generate much heat
sitting at a constant rpm doesn't allow that
I guess
I don't know I'm not that anon
>>
>>15274793
constant power strokes, more explosions = more heat, if you were riding off road you would be on and off the throttle constantly rather than sitting at around 8,000 rpm for 20 minutes or more at a time, doesnt give the engine any time to cool down especially if you are riding around at under 80km/h so in town

Mostly.

My drive to work is like 5 miles under 35 mph in light traffic. S1000RR felt like a waste especially when I couldn't get out and ride on the weekends. To be fair I'll probably buy another super sport in a few years.

Okay so I'm dumb and know fuckall about bikes. Thing is, my bike makes a lot of pressure in the cooling system, but not in the overflow tank.
The thing is dead cold now, been sitting for a day and when I tried opening the coolant cap on top of the radiator, fucking water started spewing out everywhere and I mean outright spewing, like it sprayed the whole wall and shit.

Now I know there's supposed to be pressure in the cooling system when the engine is warm and running, but shouldn't it go easier when not running and it shouldn't have THAT much pressure in there.
Or am I just being completely vapid here?
>>
>>15274995
I have never heard of this happening on a cold anything before, what happen?
>>
>>15274987
Yeah I'd imagine you'd be slipping the clutch most of the time on the S1000RR.
The FZ09 is geared nice and short but it's a bit too spartan for a commuter imo.
>>
>>15275001
I opened the coolant cap and the water inside just exploded all over the place, like shit just started spewing everywhere if you as much as crack the cap open.

Expansion tank is fine though and the level there sits in place.

Put together this order of gear for my gf.
She's getting her first bike this weekend, figured I'd surprise her with getting her a full set of gear.

This look good to everyone? Anyone have better suggestions without going much more $ or cheaper without sacrificing quality? Planned to not spend more than $700 with the max cap being 800-900.

mad much? All dat angst and assumption lead me to believe you're just upset you don't have someone that shares your hobbies and you care enough about to spend some money on to make them happy and in this instance - keep them safe.

And no I'm not buying her bike. She's buying it with her own money. We both have good jobs. + her first bike isn't even going to be that expensive - pic related

We've been together since she was 14 and I was 16. We're 25 / 23 now.
>>15275123
It's a good idea. I know she'd like the jeans since she has mentioned it's what she was going to look for. Then the helmet as well. She bought my old RF1100 for me 3 years ago and told me she would like the same one but in a black/pink scheme so I figured this one would work. I'm not sure about the jacket/shoes though.

She's planning to go into the dealer after buying the bike and try to find stuff off the shelf. I'll consider the coupon thing. Might try to ask some subtle questions tonight.

No. I finished the bike and gave it back to her. We had a long drawn out catastrophic break up where I lost several 'good friends', then I moved to Connecticut for a job. I worked with said friend she slept with and he was the only person I knew in CT. I ended up getting fired mostly due to extreme depression.

Then she moved back to Cali and several months later ended up having a threesome with my best friend and his ex.

Yes, excessively boiling over. I'm gonna give an update after I rebuild the water pump and install the new impeller.

And Baird you cuck what suggestions do you have for the rad cap? I think the manual says 1.1 but I think that's too low for street riding. The one that came with the rads are 1.8 and I think that's what blew my gasket.

If it's shooting out a bunch of coolant through the radiator cap it might be your head gasket. My DRZ did that, and the exhaust gasses were blowing into the cooling system and making it puke out coolant. At first I thought it was the radiator cap or that my cooling system had a like, or that it was overheating but it turned out to be the head gasket.

since your center of gravity is higher, less lean will counter more centrifugal force
>>
>>15275237
sitting high up moves your CoG up and hence you need less lean for a given corner speeds.
>>
>>15275237
>>15275241
I think it's when the G forces are acting on your mass up high they have more of an effect so you need less lean to maintain balance.

I'm not exactly sure though honestly. I got that from an image someone posted about body positioning and weighting.

I don't have a problem hopping on in jeans sometimes but I do have kevlar jeans that are my main riding pants.

Otherwise I usually am in a t-shirt and my mesh jacket. It's mesh but has a lot of padding. I've wrecked a couple times in it. Once at 25mph and once at 90-100mph. Still can't tell.
With the lining in its super warm and water-tight.
Without it, feels like I'm wearing a t-shirt has amazing airflow.

Sometimes I will go in just a t-shirt if its stupid hot not gonna lie.

I have riding shoes that are worn out. Need to buy a new pair - iv'e been just using my leather no-slip work shoes.

I always wear my gloves that are partial leather and have some various padding.

Then I always wear my helmet. I'd like to occasionally go without it but I just can't stand taking bugs to the face and can't hear crap cause of wind.
