Depend on what you're after. It's a solid experience for street cars, in which touge is focusing on, and it has ton of modded content(both good and russian conversion tier). I would advise you to pick it up if it goes on a nice sale, and just pirate the dlc.

Monte Carlo is the worst, the ice in RWD is fucking hektic and you have to be exact with your throttle. How the fuck do the top guys drive on much harder stages in real life for like 40 minutes.
Have a problem with my G27, I've noticed it before but not as bad as while I've played iRacing.
3rd gear when pushed a bit can engage 1st, and 4th gear does that same to 2nd. I was started to get pissed off because I would come out some corners from 5th to 4th and suddenly drop to 2nd and spin out and the car would go back to 4th without me touching it.

Take it apart and inspect for damage. Logitech uses really soft plastics, and I wouldn't be surprised if something is worn out or a screw has come loose.

The great thing about Dirt Rally is that when I'm not feeling it I just crank up the graphics and go for a nice drive, and it feels great.

Hi all,
I'm fairly new to Sim Racing, and at the age of 61 I would guess this is pretty strange! I do have a lot of driving experience with the last couple releases for F1 from Codemasters however, and though Project Cars surpasses that app in every way possible, it does not seem to favor Formula type racing! Only one Formula One car in that series? Are there plans to include more cars and tracks from this venue? When? Not that I mind working my way up to the Formula series, but exactly where do I find out more about doing so? Either way I would like to start my "climb" to Formula 1 by first doing so in PCars, along with some MP racing as well. To be honest, RaceNet for F1 doesn't work very well so I haven't had the opportunity to do any "real' MP racing yet so this is very important to me! So are there any leagues or other groups that are sponsoring races in PCars I can get started with?
Right now I'm running Win 10 Pro 64 with 16 gig ram, an Nvidia 970 GTX, and believe it or not a XEON W3524 4 core @ 2.67 GHz each giving me better processing power than the best Intel gaming processor! 450 pwr supply and a double-wide ultra sharp screen, 3 HD's and 1 SSD for bootup drive, a Logitech G502 gaming mouse, a MadCatz V7 keyboard, and a Steel Series SW-R1 Racing Wheel. I gotta love this wheel even though it doesn't have force feedback, because it uses finger levers on it's backside just like a real Formula One Wheel but with shifting up/down and Throttle/Brake control and a whole lot of programmable buttons/levers/dials on the front of it as well. Not able to use my legs this really comes in handy! The ONLY problem I have is that as it's not connected to any kind of base or shaft system, one's arms tend to swim around a bit more than I would like.
So I'm really trying hard to get into this hobby, and in particular with Project Cars. I'd greatly appreciate ANY and ALL help or information that can help me...especially along the lines mentioned above! Thanks in advance!

I recommend you watch this - it explains in great detail how you can attach an SRW-W1 to a moderately good steering wheel, while still holding the ability of using the paddles as pedals for throttle and brake.
Your computer is powerful enough to run just about anything at ultra. Seeing as you're relatively new to sim racing, you have two choices.
rFactor 2 and Assetto Corsa.
Assetto Corsa isn't a simcade (an arcade game with simulation elements like the Codemaster F1 games and Project CARS) even though it's debatable. Many people enjoy using it for hotlapping since it's relatively easy to learn. The force feedback is the best in the market (second only to iRacing, a subscription based online only racer which is pretty expensive). Developed by an italian sim racing dev, Kunos Simulazioni, who were in charge of helping Ferrari with their F1 simulators a few years ago.
Easily accessible
Easy to join online races
Bit weird with its collision physics and no proper pit stops.
Second is rFactor 2.
A cleverly named sequel that takes a lot of it's tech from rFactor Pro, which is to this day used by top teams including McLaren F1 for simulation (mind you, rFactor Pro is made in a way that anyone can customize the physics so even though they base off rFactor, in the end the professional sims are a far cry from the consumer version).
rFactor 2 holds the best tire physics in the genre, bar none. Heralded as the best non-subscription based on the market, it's developers, ISI, rely heavily on it's community on making content for the sim itself - one of the main reasons the first rFactor lived as long as it did.
rFactor 2 is a bit more serious and offers more content, however the online portion is harder to access. The majority of servers are password locked and these servers are run by leagues. A major provider is known as Race2Play. 1/2

Of course since a lot of the content is community made, some of the content is good and some of it's utter shit. From crap physics to on-track bugs (see >>14896033)
rFactor 2 also had the revolutionary feature of downloading mod content directly from the server itself, so no need to go find that one pesky .zip that was removed from RaceDepartment for copyright reasons then having to find it from some shitty mirror which limits the download speed to 50kb/s unless you give them money.
Both sims have a supportive community willing to assist. You can find YouTube tutorials helping you to train your craft, watch other people do hotlaps, find mods and tracks from their respective forums and site - the stock content is great for a beginner to start too.

I have it mounted on my G25 and it really is a nice, cheap option of having a lot of buttons on your wheel.
As for the paddles, they are probably the best alternative to pedals you can get. Are they great? No. Are they better than the triggers on a Dualshock or Xbox controller? Depends on taste, but you have a lot more travel to work with (and thus better control)
Personally I have removed the axis paddles from my wheel and am just using the two button paddles up top, but I do think it would work. Make sure wheel rotation is quite low though.

Retired from the US Army where I was a Dustoff medic, and an Equal Opportunity instructor. Watching racing of almost any type (but primarily NASCAR) and iRacing are about the only 2 things I do to relieve stress and keep my head from exploding, so for goodness sake-there is no need to yell!
I am a red head who is married to another woman. She happens to be my crew chief, and race team "owner". The team (which has no other members...lol) is called Dominatrix Motorsports and when I'm starting on the front row she calls me "Pole Dancer" ;)

That's never logical. A wheel offers superior precision in every application. For arcade games, 270 lock will be just as fast as a controller, which, despite being an analog device, is most often used bouncing lock to lock, while the center-to-lock range is often jittery and basically useless for real control. On a wheel, your whole control axis is buttery-smooth.

I found the MR cars in AC tend to drive similarly to cars in NFS3/4, just with realistic levels of grip and far better suspension modelling. How they react to driver input, especially under braking, is very similar and shows that the pre-Criterion NFS games sought to accurately represent the cars but with an emphasis on fun and accessibility.
now it's all about graphics, drift combos, and pointless storylines.
