ITT: Post a pic of you riding your bike (or standing with your bike).
>>889537
Me after I got to work. Best I can do. No one takes pictures of me on my bike.
Also >>>/soc/
>tfw the first page of Google Images for a search of my name was all me on my bike, apart from the first image
Now it's almost entirely full of normies.

i hope this person wearing the jersey "gets rekt"
are you so madly in love with the internet that you feel you have to let the world know
what is mental illness like

holy fucking shit

>>889610
issues: the post
>>889618
The only people with issues here are the people so starved for attention and validation that they post pictures of themselves and their bikes to strangers on an anonymous imageboard.
It's a shit thread and always will be.
>>889622
Only words missing from your post are chankid, nerd, white, and gamer
here's me brappin
>>889572
I know I look dumb but I also don't care because I'm an adult.
>>889645
Why does your bike look like it's from 1993?
>>889539
God you look like every single asshole hipster at the local bike shop
>all these freds ITT
Typical.
>>889673
What is a fred again and how could you possibly apply it to anyone in this thread?
>>889537
how the fuck do you take a pic of yourself while riding a bike?
>>889688
>doesn't have friends
That's rough bro
>>889684
Is this kind of like hipsters claiming they aren't hipsters?
I don't see any commuters around here, do you? Just a bunch of people kitted up for leisure/exercise/racing purposes.
>>889691
Well can you answer the question? Don't care what you do or don't see.
>>889688
Timer, voice commands, remote.
>>889690
I don't so the last person I asked to take a picture just tried to take my camera. I asked my mom to take a picture of me when I went out her way the other week, she said she would but she got called away since I found a sign with my name on it and an apple at the mail box.
>>889691
Wow has the fred meme really gone this far? If you bike for leisure you're a fred?
Coming from someone who exclusively commutes on a 30 year old mtb, you sound like a faggot.
>>889538
It very well could be his.
That picture was taken of an anon, by a different anon.
/soc/ also isn't a slow board full of bike/train nerds. Plus, threads like this don't necessarily need to be pushed off the board, just because it's a picture of an anon. I think in moderation, they're acceptable.
>>889673
>one guy in an /n/ jersey
>either commuter or someone who works on the bike
>Mountain biker
>track racer
>trail riding on CX bike
What exactly is your definition of a Fred?
>>889610
you must be new here
>>889645
based
>>889660
He doesn't look anything like a hipster you silly rustic
He looks 10/10 on the generic scale
Are non-wireframe glasses still seen as provocatively edgy in your unincorporated meth town?
Because they're the choice of hipsters again in real places, now that walmart opticians are flooded with black acetate from coast to coast
>>889757
Why are you pathetically defending your appearance to strangers in the third person? A better question is why did you post a pic to begin with? Especially considering you didn't even post a picture with your bike, which was the whole point of the thread (supposedly).
Or maybe you just walk around in a jersey but don't actually ride.
>>889757
I live in East Nashville, literally hipster central
He looks exactly like most bike shop employees around here
>>889762
All this assmad
I don't look anything like that
For starters, I'm not white, and I don't wear glasses
>>889768
>Tennessee
Oh no wonder, I went to Kentucky once and everyone looked like it was still 25 years ago
>>889660
I can't deny that I look a little hipster. The haircut adds length to my face, the scruff is mad comfy, and the glasses add complexity to my otherwise bland face. I aim to look normal, I think I accomplish that. I blend in.
>>889673
I'll admit to being a Fred. I've been riding casually for a long time. I bought a $800 bike on a whim and I ride it only about 50 miles a week, if that.
>>889691
I'm a casual commuter. Depending on the route I take, it can be as short as 2 miles, but some times I take a less busy route that's about 4. I wear a wicking jersey thing because i shower and change clothes when I get to the office anyway, and that keeps me a bit cooler than a cotton t shirt.
>>889762
Yeah that wasn't me.
>>889768
>Tennessee
>hipster central
Guess you've never left your shitty state lol
>>889773
You quoted me twice
Either way you still look like the little faggot in the corner of the bike shop who refuses to talk to the customers
>>889776
Just because you come in with your walmart BSO looking fat and creepy wanting to borrow a bike pump and not buy anything doesn't mean actual paying customers don't get attention. It's just that you're not one of them.
>>889645

Biking towards Mt. Robson last month. What a glorious day.
smack dab in the middle.
>>889960
Amazing ! Mt Robson, the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies apparently. Too bad you're on a road though :)
>>889985
There was a biking trail that went the first 10 km behind Mt. Robson. From there I hiked another 16 km to see this view. It was another glorious day.
>>889989
This looks like one of those old vacation slides my dad used to force the family to look at on the slide projector. Is that an actual digital camera or did you digitize some hipster gel print from your holga?
>>889991
What's a holga? You should get off your ass if you want to see the outdoors in real life. It is a shitty picture because the sun was facing me.
>>889992
It's an old style inexpensive film camera that hipsters loved for a while because the pictures always come out weird. Then instagram added the holga effect and everyone got over it.
Don't be so quick to take offense, I like your pictures.
>>889989
Wow, looks like a splendid area... I'll have to get over there one day and try some DH biking around Robson, and Jasper area. Bout 6 hours from Calgary though when theres still a ton to explore within 2 hours of me here. Sooooo one day....
Looks like you do a lot of nice exploring / touring around Alberta and BC.

thanks man.. from the trailhead it was all uphill, forget the totals, but the roundtrip was 36 km's. There was 100 tent sites within the park, but they were all booked, so I decided to day hike it... in hindsight I could've easily stealth camped.
This is the Root Glacier near McCarthy, AK.

you've got some great pictures. i wonder if you've studied photography? or have a natural eye? i'm actually [amateur-professional] graphic designer that works with a small, local outdoors shop (only one location). we don't sell bikes, but we like them. mostly just outdoor/camping/hiking gear.
would you be willing to let me use some of your photographs for some design work (posters/cards/emails) around the shop? i'd be more than happy to include your artistic ownership (watermark, name, whatever) should i use them. i would never use them without permission. i just think you've got some great shots and i see some cool outdoors-y design in them. i'd love to see more.

Not really, since the cyclist in that pic is clearly using their bike as a form of transportation instead of for purposes of exercise or recreation. We need more pictures like that here and less of what is being posted ITT.
>>890673
Oh I'm sorry, is transportation not allowed to be fun? /o/ isn't allowed to talk about racing anymore because it's supposed to be about literally only physical cars, not the things they're used for.

It's a fucking blast. Most fun you can have on a bike as far as I'm concerned.
>>890676
How many laps do you do and how long are the courses?
>>890674
>/o/ isn't allowed to talk about racing anymore because it's supposed to be about literally only physical cars, not the things they're used for.
Sounds like a good precedent to institute that policy on this board tbh fam. In fact, it makes even more sense on this board, since the board is "/n/ - Transportation," not "/n/ - Cycling." Just because there is a bike involved doesn't make it relevant to the stated purpose of this board.
And just because you can't shitpost random shit about bikes doesn't mean transportation isn't allowed to be fun.
>>890678
A board about transportation. Bikes are a mode of transportation. But you can't talk about how you personally use that mode of transportation? That makes no sense at all tbh fam lmfao smdh bbq

>>892810
It is not far away from downtown. And there are still races with historic motorbikes and bikes as a combo.
Old and shitty photo like hell. What can I say, I'm of the foamer squad here.
Back then I had this old 6-speed derailleur bike, from times back when people were not autistic about their bikes. Not a "hybrid", not a "road bike", just a normal, plain as it can be male diamod frame with that thing on it.
On a bike path in Michigan.
>>892855
Downtown where?
I know there's an old velodrome in Jax, FL that I've wanted to check out just wondering if this is it.
>>892888
There's always been differentiation between bicycle types, you're just clueless.
>>892908
Sure, but not the kind of hype. Also, the dirt cheap plastic bearing cups and "permanent lubrication" sucker option wasn't there.
You went to a bike shop and the options, little caricatyrized were "torpedo, crane or nameless coaster hub" and "diamond or through frame". Well, that was so in a little backwoods country at the protectionist era, when the sole domestic manufactuer could make any shit and the government made sure they still outcompeted everything else.
And don't get me wrong, I take this time and age every day.
Nowadays with little patience I can get yeasterday's completely-out-from-the-plebs high end products in "serviceable condition" for loose change. Just acquired a duomatic for free. It needed a new wheel to go with it and the brake-arm side bearing was little worn, othervise perfect.
>>892922
Just a small town, early 90s.
And yeah, that was actually the hardware store bike selection.
My first bike had late model S5 in it, with that horrible shifter. From the local bike shop, naturally they had reasonable small bike shop selection, I remember I wanted a (domestic monopoly manufacturer) 21 speed one but dad vetoed me bacause he though the hub was more reliable. Probably it was little cheaper too.
I think the grain of truth here is that there were not really pleb-level roadbikes available, the ones that were there were just out of the question expensive. The "hybrid" and bouncy front springs weren't a thing yet.
