I think a lot of things killed of Jungle, what's remarkable was how fast it was. Kind of went from being the main scene in the UK to nothing very quickly, even more interesting in that a similar thing happened when Jungle took over from Breakbeat Hardcore.

I also find it quite funny how all these scenes end up going the same way; OGs state they don't want to commercialise it but inevitably one of them ends up finding success with a tune, captilises on it, rest all follow pattern while keeping up the whole "we're not selling out" facade and then the genre over saturates with the same sounding shit until someone changes something drastically a new subgenre is created.

It's a shame because he was a really great producer, a solid remixer, and a more than competent DJ with a widereaching knowledge of dance music history and the hardcore continuum. I just feel like he's taking the easy/more profitable way.

Obviously he leaned a bit more to sort of an "IDM"-style approach when it came to the whole post-dubstep/future garage thing, so his tunes weren't necessarily as club friendly as other producers of the time, but his sound design was really something else. I have a feeling he's just mad that after El-B left Groove Chronicles, he had longterm success and influence in the garage/dubstep scene as a solo producer/remixer, while Noodles and Groove Chronicles ended up a footnote in 2-step history. There used to be Drum n' Bass parties also at Cassiopeia but their site says that there are no upcoming events in case of mentioned genre, and Yaam is mainly a Reggae/Dub venue. Always check the clubs event calendar before you go out. DnB is not the only thing played at those clubs. In case of the first two venues it can be a hit & miss in terms of the quality. I've never been to Rosis and Yaam, so I don't know if they're good or shit. Keep an ear on the ground. These three are certainly not the only DnB venues in Berlin, they're just the only ones which I can remember.
