The current problem with /bleep/ is that in recent years there has a new generation of underages posters flocking to 4chan influenced by "ironic" and "cringe" comedy which has become mainstream in internet culture. Because of this, along with a sharp decline in active regulation by janitors and moderators, the quantity of shitposting, "ironic" baiting, idiotic memes, completely obnoxious spamming, inflammatory trolling, and disruptive namefags/tripfags has exponentially increased and the proportion of these low-quality posts to legitimate discussions is shockingly high. Essentially, its completely corrupted /mu/ and its board culture, /bleep/, being on /mu/, has had these sorts of posters slowly seep in and alter the dynamic in these threads. And once that sort of posting behavior is replicated enough, certain other posters will be persuaded that this is acceptable and will join in (ie. group mentality), resulting in very repetitive constant spamming and forced memes in every thread now. Like on /mu/ where most of the current memes/shitposts/trips have become widespread due to shear exposure from constant spamming, with every repetition, this posting behavior becomes more and more engrained in /bleep/ culture.
This doesn't have to be the way things are.
I know most of us are not setting out to ruin things. We've got a lot of love in us for /bleep/, the music, the clubs, the people, the culture. I think most of us want to do the right thing. It's more a question of
will power, self discipline and circumstances.
Seriously, when you post, just be vigilant about whether you're helping maintaining a proper balance of on-topic /bleep/ posts or semi-related tangental posts. Be cognizant of the state of thread and simply ignore/report any inflammatory or disruptively off-topic posts/blemes/shitposts.
Bleeps and bants, not blemes and bait.
It's that simple lads.

Why were 2011 - 2014 such good years for house?
It's been ages since I heard a good house track. All my favourite producers have started making techno or generic Ibizacore tech house shit and it's fucking dreadful. Literally nothing has happened to house in 2 years now, not a single tune worth mentioning.

OP here and I do agree. "Bleeps and bants, not blemes and bait" just had a nice ring to it.
But yeah, blemes and bants are fine in moderation, just don't be a dickhead. I think sometimes certain people like to test the boundaries of how much of a reaction they can get out of people by being incredibly obnoxious. It's childish really, but then again this is still /mu/, so that's fairly par for the course.

I mean it probably has been dropped into some ambient house dj's set before.
Let's be honest though. Richard's career is pretty much indebted to 808 State and jungle (not to mention Brian Eno and Autechre). But at the end of the day, he makes a completely different kind of electronic music that serves a completely different purpose and is targeted towards a completely different audience.

>>64270378
/mu/ is a different place now. There used to be tons of garage, dubstep, jungle, etc. shared in /mu/ sharethreads by DiY, ninja, random anons, and probably others I'm forgetting.
Remember when some /mu/tants were in the process of making their own UK Garage compilation of both underground/rare and classic club staples?
This was all back when mediafire, zippyshare, and megaupload were still viable.
Those were the days, but /mu/'s changed and now /bleep/ is all we have left. That's life. Just make the best of what we got now.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0q3yQ2XhXGk
>>64270511
There's a difference between having an essential list of releases for newcomers to get into /bleep/ and people sharing releases that they really like and think other people might want to have digital copies of (particularly DJs and/or producers among us). Shares are literally just the next step beyond simply posting youtube links.

Well, i guess the hype is real, he started with some ambient and once the beats started rolling, it was pretty much relentless bangers all night long. Got to have a chat with teknoantti too. Overall a 5/5 night

Dettman is probably the most hyped bleep act that is actually very good.
His festival sets aren't that great (but I'm not a fan of festival sets in general) but long ones from him are absolutely amazing.
Post your top 10 acts to see on this lineup lads

I'd forgotten that garage post-'02 had gone in these sorts of directions once grime, MC-led "chart" garage, and early/proto-dubstep started coming into their own out of the whole dark 2-step scene. it was totaly under the radar
