To be fair, it's not exclusively just a yoshiki and kamijo thing. They made the idea of labels writing or just controlling what their bands do popular and other labels started to do what they do. Even if their music isn't written for them, it's still controlled, you'll notice that a lot of members in these "super-groups" (dir en grey and the like) all come from bands that sound nothing like Dir en Grey. It's pretty obvious they have no freedom over what they do.
