Gonna ask again: This is a real stretch, but does anyone have Blood Rites of the Hex Temple by Gnaw Their Tongues? It's part of a split LP with another artist. It's on his bandcamp, but there is no purchase/download. It seems to be nothing other than vinyl and I don't have a turn table. I searched the archive so I imagine I'm fucked, but I figured I'd ask.
Anyone have any persian classical or sitar based recordings?
Ardavan Kamkar - Over the Wind (2001) [320kbps]
>Persian/Iranian/Kurdish traditional folk, santur (hammered dulcimer)
>"Ardavan has developed a tuning method by which he can take any note as a tonic and with some radical tuning sometimes have both chromatic and diatonic scales on the same santur in different registers. Therefore he has created the possibility of having up to four different tonalities at the same time to which he can modulate on one santur, allowing his melodies to be more colourful as well as having a correct voice leading."

Armed Forces Radio and Television Service - Simple Gifts
>ambient (?), field recording (?), spoken word (?)
>"As best I can tell, this double-record set was intended by Armed Forces Radio and Television Services to be a therapeutic tool for soldiers. Like the kind of messages you would transmit to soldiers in the field to help them overcome the stress of warfare. Each track ends in a locked groove so it was impossible for those broadcasting these messages to play a full album all the way through.
Track two, “I Am A Number” is really fucked up. The heavy breathing, the deliberate delivery, it’s truly unsettling. I think it’s an anti-drug message, but the verses are just so macabre I can’t understand how this would settle frayed nerves. Speaking first about cockroaches, I guess in some dingy shooting gallery, the voice intones “And finally creeping across the dresser to bathe in a glass of bloody water, next to an eyedropper and needle. Two glassine bags torn and empty, and a bottle top still containing traces of yesterday’s hope. There is no more. The door is locked. The bed is cold. And I? I am a number.” Now go out there and win that war, solider!"

I am so sorry about my slow upload speeds.
The Verve EP, 1992 + A Storm In Heaven, 1993 (320kbps CBR)
Early Verve were so amazing and full of potential it almost kinda pains me that people know them as the guys who did that britpop track that ripps off an orchestral arrangement of a mediocre Rolling Stones track. Almost bothers me.
Before they got the britpop treatment at (what should have been) the end of their career, The Verve were one of the most realised, complete and colourful of the early-mid '90s shoegaze-ish yet hard-edged psychedelic/stoner/space rock wave that, arguably, started somewhere around the mid/late '80s (bands like Loop, minus the trance-like drug-fueled elements, and the like).
Sure, it's closer to Ride than it is to Spacemen 3, but that's a spectrum (no pun intended) that simply cannot contain bad music.

Thank you very much, nice write up too.
I'd even go so far as to say that BJM got a LOT of their sound from the Verve (or vice versa?), especially when hearing songs like All in the mind.
Also don't really mind the britpop since I want any and every band that makes great music to have success one way or another.

The Four Seasons / Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons - The Genuine Imitation Life Gazette (1969) MP3
>Pet Sounds tier Baroque Pop
This wildly ambitious opus lives up to its reputation as the most bizarre album in the Four Seasons' catalog. With the help of young songwriter Jake Holmes, the straightest of pop groups went psychedelic to create a concept album that casts a satirical eye on American life. The end result is often excessive both lyrically and sonically, but it's also relentlessly inventive, skillfully constructed, and never dull. Genuine Imitation Life Gazette never feels like a cheap cash-in because the group chases its cosmic muse without any worry of pandering to commercial concerns.

That's a bit broad. How about some R.I.O.? Have you ever listened to Fred Frith? His first proper solo album, Gravity, is a multicoloured clash of styles, from experimental post-punk-esque noisy rock to eastern-european-influenced chamber rock to fairly ambient pieces and more.

Ok yeah I get the idea. How's this instead: Erkin Koray's first two albums. First one was recorded between 67 and 73, while his sophomore is from 1974. The first album is a lot closer to the links you posted, but his second album, Elektronik Türküler, definitely takes the cake. Noticeably more mature and self-conscious. Anatolian Freakbeat/Psychprog, 1967-1974. How does that sound?
And if you like that I can also add some criminally underrepresented Magyar psychprog.

Erkin Koray - Erkin Koray 67/73 & Elektronik Türküler, 1974
A pioneer of the turkish rock scene, Koray plays a mix of popular pop/rock with psychedelic undertones mixed with traditional turkish music forms. As I mentioned earlier, the first album is a compilation of freakbeat-ish anatolian pop, while his sophomore is a more mature, ambitious project, leaving behind whatever trace of whimsy (no matter how good) the music might have had. I count it amongst one of the better non-central-european folk-tingled rock albums of the 70s along with albums like Aphrodite's Child's 666 and the one I'm posting next (amongst a number of others, but I guess none as well known as these).

Omega - Trombitás Frédi És A Rettenetes Emberek, 1968
The debut album by one of the most successful Hungarian rock bands of the 60s/70s. Much like Koray, they fuse contemporary psych/prog with their local sounds, and add a healthy mix of humour and playfulness to their music. Slightly less exotic but a bit more cerebral, I'd say.

There we go:
Moğollar - Danses Et Rythmes De La Turquie D'Hier À Aujourd'hui, 1972
Originally released under the name Les Mogol, reissued under Moğollar the following year and then under the title "Anadolu Pop" in 1975, this is the debut of legendary Turkish band that leans heavily towards the "folk" half of folk rock, but still infuses a dose of psychedelia by means of hammonds and the occasional tribal drumming. This is pretty much their least rocky album, so beware, it doesn't sound *that* much like what I've been posting today.

Thanks for this boyo
Does anyone remember posting an album by a Japanese actress turned singer.
All I remember about the album was that she recorded most of it and even released a single but then her label put it on the shelf.

This is missing two tracks from the first CD and five from the second.
Disc 1
8. Can't You Hear My Heart
20. Walk With Me My Angel
Disc 2
7. Wipe Out
12. All My Loving
13. You Were there
24. Please Stay
26. I Take It That We're Through
You guys have any classical music with 320 kbps? Any would be great since /classical/ has mostly flac.

sorry I can't fix that: it wasn't a personal rip, I grabbed the compilation from some blog.

I personally don't but converting from flacs to mp3s or Orbis is very easy with a frontend like foobar

My contribution to the thread
Can - Soundtracks ( 1970 )
>Krautrock, you know who Can is. Last track was originally a 6-hour improv jam cut down to 20 mins
Sample: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnWpR_FEr0E

Last track isn't the 6-hour improv, wrong album.
Still a great LP regardless

READ THE OP
There are detailed step-by-step instructions on how to access the archive.
>>63679243
>>63679226
The problem with the numbers is that it didn't start exactly on January 1st. IIRC it was more January 10th. I wish the OP would out more effort into sharing if they start a new thread, and give it a fun name!

Requesting someone upload Shunkan - Pink Noise.
Shocking nothing comes up on the archive and googling a blogspot for it doesn't help
>>63679207
the numbering was never even correct in the first place, I thought it was a joke honestly. Once I saw it go from 40 to 41 to 45 and then back to 40 again two days later, and then there was that one person that were puting like .1 and the like at the end of them.

Dunkleziffer - In the Night
>Krautrock, jazz fusion, dub, new wave
Krautrock supergroup made up of members of various incarnations of Can and people that have been involved in other Can related projects over the years. Not the same song over and over edition that seems to be all over the internet for some reason.
