Try Captain Beefheart's later works, if you haven't already. TMR and Safe as Milk are fine and all, but he actually has a whole lot beyond those. A few of my personal favorites are:

>Doc at the Radar Station
LMDO,B is the only one that sounds all that similar to TMR, though. Mirror Man is made up of long as fuck blues jams, and the other two aren't very easy to classify. Great albums, though
