Beats me. I actively tried to find them when I played @1 and I couldn't find shit. I reloaded a quicksave every time I got hit on a really low chance and tried standing on the same exact tile again, I never found somewhere that I ALWAYS got hit.
With savestates you'll definitely always get hit if you try to savescum since the RNG seems to be set at the start of a player or enemy phase in most old SRW, but reloading from a quicksave seems to show that no, it's not specific tiles designed to fuck you over at all. At least not from what I could tell, maybe someone can crack it open with a hex editor or some shit and dig at the actual values.
R-3's honestly not that bad, in OG1 it does pretty damn well for itself. it's got S ranks on the only two terrains it'll ever be on, before S Ranks started getting common as fuck, and if you upgrade Strike Shields a little (they're pretty cheap) Aya can easily get herself Aced before you get the SRX. Plus TK Beam Cannon or whatever that attack is called is a decent ALL.
It's problem isn't that the R-3 is bad, it's that it's flat out not worth putting any money into usually since you get the SRX so early in every game after OG1. And because of that it's not worth giving Aya Hit & Away anymore since she'll never make any good use of it, better to just dump into SP related skills.

I dunno, anon, that looks like six times Dygenguar's size, maybe even seven.

Dunno why everyone keeps the SRX always combined when they have better mook killing potential separated. I seriously only use the SRX for bosses. And gameboy OG allows you to split SRX, attack with both the R-2 and R-3, then recombine and still use the SRX so they're pretty much always worth using.

If you upgrade them maybe, but the SRX is still the only combiner in the game that doesn't share upgrades with its components. And it's certainly not worth upgrading all three of them. Especially when the R-1 can't hit past range with anything but its most expensive attack or equippable weapons, that still upgrade separately.
Also, why are we arguing about PP/kill efficiency? I use the R-2 and R-3 as mook sweepers because I like giving all the SRX guys a chance to shine.
Rai had the most kills in my first OG1 run.
Maybe "none" was too strong as I wasn't keeping track for the SRX, but I know for a fact that Tetsuya never got any even when Daitetsu did, and I didn't observe Sean getting any either for mooks that the Hiryuu took out.
Ship subpilots can't be main pilots and thus never get kills at all, just like they outright don't have accessible stats.
Mind you, SRX still has a better weapon loadout than its components, three pilots, and lets you rack up PP for Rai and Aya on a first or second run when you can't afford to upgrade everyone.
Grungust doesn't have the pure special plot power that most game MCs have but it's still one of the strongest machines the group has, and probably has the strongest machine that's reliable in the Earth forces since the SRX could explode, and Ryukoh frequently feels like napping.
One wonders why they don't make a limited production of the grungust. It is one of the oldest units along the gespenst and the huckebein and has proven to be as reliable as super ultra cutting edge new technology, be earth or alien made. With all the money they spent in GS units and relions/heavy barrelions/MP huckebeins/etc they could've built at least 500 Grungusts, most likely even more as development of cheaper technology to replace old and more expensive components is a thing.
Wouldn't Isurugi have had to pay Mao Industries for the schematics to mass produce Grungusts for GS?

I'm now at the stage of OGG where pretty much the entire team is assembled, I've cleared or will clear every secret and I have a billion units to put pilots into. Now I have option paralysis.
I'm thinking of shoving Katina and Russel into the Grungust type 3, putting Task into the HuckIIIR Boxer, Leona into the Wildwurger L, Radha into the Siegerlion. But this leaves me with 2 grungusts and the ashsaber unused which are all pretty good units. Maybe I should put Yuuki and Carla into the Grungusts, since I just can't seem to love the randgriths?
Also, is it me or is the HuckIII AM gunner kind of shit? Its map attacks are weak and its finisher is only so-so. Maybe it's just cause Ryoto is flying it.

The gunner is legit just plain inferior to the boxer in OGS and gaiden. There's literally no reason to use it unless you want to earn more PP by having more pilots on a single machine. As for the grungust sanshiki, I would recommend putting inside a pair of the alpha archetypes like Ryoto/Rio, Task/Leona or Yuuki/Carla to permanently give them the love relationship damage bonus.

There have been two card games; The first being Scramble Gather (where Katina and GAB-L had their debut) and currently, there's OG Crusade.
OG runs off the unified Crusade system. Basically a bunch of different themed decks and boosters. One person could be Sunrise Crusade and somebody could be using OG Crusade and they'd still be able to play together although they would have very different units.
That reminds me, what does the shield icon in the bottom right represent?
Blade Kick, Zine Knuckle, Gaun Genocider and Hi Finger Launcher are pretty much the grunt killing moves it has from OGs onward. No TK Missiles though, sadly.

I wish OG would make Shields/Counter-Cut/Shoot Down a thing that can trigger in normal fights, instead of only units with Shields getting a bigger damage reduction when they defend. Would've gone a long way in OG1 for making units that are supposed to be meatwalls a lot less fragile in OG2/OGG when damage was through the roof all around.

R-1, R-2, ART-1, Garmraid Blaze-S, Vysaga, Angelg, Laz Angriff, Randgrith Raven, Laz Angriff Raven, Aile Chevalier, Fabularis, Raftclans Aurum and Skull Knight have shields in MD.

The Gunner is objectively terrible in OG until Moon Dwellers restores it to being the better frame by giving it Photon Rifle S as a post-move attack and making it only take up one deployment slot. In OGG it's Boxer or go home.
Speaking of the OGMD Boxer/Gunner, why is it that the Red Exbein has a strictly superior Gunner mode, while the Blue frame has a strictly superior Boxer mode when you compare them to each other?

I mixed the two up while posting somehow.
The problem is that Ryoto starts in the inferior Boxer while Rio starts in the inferior Gunner.
Not just that
Blue Gunner has a 30 EN G-Impact Zapper vs a 40 EN one, and red Boxer has a 40 EN G-Sword Diver vs a 50 EN one, but the blue Gunner also has 2 extra Graviton Rifle ammo.
I'd probably still use both Gunners, you have just way too many good melee mechs already.
Blue has slightly more ammo on the second ALL too.
Not that it matters much, they'll never run out of EN or ammo in the Gunners, which are superior to the Boxers be they favored or not. I've been using them heavily for two runs and didn't even notice.

There's 3 Grungusts that have no default pilots, the G frame is basically the best one for the Gespensts now, the Haken is generic and Haken is better suited for the Vaisaga, and I GUESS there's also the Leonisis Haga and its fucking fantastic total lack of range.
It does have that explosion animation that The Inspector used like 6 different times.
I'm hoping for Full Impact Cannon to be a combination attack that any of the 4 Alpha pairs can use.
Her stat growth is biased towards range now, so the Gunner is still a better idea.
Also for whatever odd reason, the Gunner has less mobility than the boxer, but also more HP and EN than it.

They might actually have a story reason to do that, too. If they only get one piece of Tronium back - or only put a piece of Tronium in one of the Exbeins - obviously the Gunner can only FIC if it's the one that has that piece of Tronium, but if you connect Gunner and Boxer, it works no matter which one is which.

Exactly, even with the bias towards range, her attack stats aren't really high, she has I think 229 range at lv99 which is kind of just above average and her melee is even worse, so it's probably better to just dump her in a ranged mech, because at least she can actually switch mechs.
Meanwhile Banpresto thought Masaki was totally a ranged fighter which is why he has a 20 point difference between range and melee now so it's more work to make Ranbu no Tachi the finisher instead of Cosmo Nova.

Yeah, but in OG2nd, RnT was just 200 points below Cosmo Nova, but Masaki's stats were sort of even with melee winning out by a little bit.

Zephyr Swordand Akashic Buster are the things you're using the most with High-Familiars for your ranged attacks, like how the SRX counters everything with Blade Kicks/Xein Knuckles and the odd Gaun Genocider/High-Finger Launcher
-Selena will start as an enemy with Neue DC/GS remnants. The Soleares is made from SM tech
-Neue DC/GS will be the last earth enemy to defeat before heading into deep space
-No Werkbau, OG Ayin gets a new mech. Ing is captured and forced to pilot Astranagan, when defeated Cobray finally crosses over in Dis Astranagan
-Touma gets more plot with Balmar princess
-Revived Kanan/Taihou pilot the Shirei Phoenix/Turtle, fox guy gets the Shirei Tiger. Towards the end Galong fuses all 4 Shirei for his use
-Yuuki/Carla get the Phoenix/Turtle Kai robots, later upgrade to a brand new non choukijin super robot

OG refuses to give you units with more than three pilots at once. Maybe 4 when Banpreios comes around because there's no way that Aya/Mai are going to get the Azuki treatment in MD.

Refuses to, or just doesn't have any? Because there aren't any so far where more than three pilots would make sense, so we have no idea if that's a policy or not. The Hagane, I guess, but I think that's more to keep the demotion from being an upgrade.

Remember that Valz COULD have had more pilots if they counted the robot thing and the computer MILF. They were already holding back.
And there's the possibility of it "only" having five pilots if they keep Aria as a separate unit.
I bet that when Valzacard goes OG, the only spirit lists it will have will be Kazuma, Mihiro and that sister who become the captain of the battleship. Aria and her unit would be separated and the Attacks that used that mecha as a bow or a sword are now combination attacks.
Alternatively, they axe Bless early, and so Valstork won't have the issue. Valguard will still come up with a problem, I suppose, and Valzacard too, but who knows?

At least Bless won't have that issue as much, Applicant won't ever be onscreen at the same time as him so a similar voice won't immediately give the game away. Obviously Regulate won't have that problem either given the individual she's based on's livelihood status.
