Considering how one of the biggest plot holes in Sentai frequently ends up being "Why don't the bad guys ever try the same plan twice?", I find it humorous that rather than attempting the same plan twice and succeeding, Meemy just happens to coincidentally succeed with a plan that he originally botched several episodes earlier and then completely forgot about.

Bioman gets fairly neat after its first few episodes. It's also the point where Soda started to delve into more dramatic plot elements, before he made those the main focus for Changeman.
So I started watching Goranger, I hadn't really heard anything about it but it still managed to not quite be what I expected.
I actually wonder how involved Ishinomori was with it beyond handing them a concept, since I thought it'd be more like Kamen Rider where there's a stronger characterisation and direction early on then a change to just MOTW shenanigans after a while when he becomes less involved, but it was pretty immediate into that. I'm surprised how unconcerned with explaining itself at the start the show really was, like just the typical tragic origins for Ishinomori characters in a very basic way, then "oh btw, they're Gorangers". I assume thier suits and stuff are all EAGLE tech but show doesn't really care to explain any of that. Really surprised by the complete lack of an actual transformation sequence, but guess they didn't want to stock footage 5 guys transforming back then.
It's also weird feeling like there's a Tatsunoko influence on it. A lot of Tatsu stuff generally feels overwhelmingly inspired by Ishinomori stuff, and although Gatchaman was basically Sentai before Sentai, it was just putting together stuff Ishinomori had done already, just never all at once. So I didn't expect Goranger to be similar beyond just the ways Ishinomori stuff is, but then them being from a bird themed organisation and having the Variblune makes it feel like Gatchaman was probably more of a direct influence than I'd expected. Plus the birdies feel straight out of Casshan. Not that it's a criticsm just interesting to see that full circle of influences.
Team also don't have much personality so far, which is disappointing. Especially for Akaranger who I was hoping for a badass leader (though his fasion sense is great) and Aoranger because it's Shinmei Akira. But I'm hoping that'll improve as the show goes on.

Given I knew it was an Ishinomori show and he'd already done Kamen Rider and Cyborg 009 before it I had just expected more was all.
I do enjoy it so far, but it just doesn't feel like it has anything going on beyond the premise of multi coloured guys fighting MOTW. And given Ishinomori's previous works, and Gatchaman a few years before it too that does show it up a bit.

Dear anon who reminded me of the fact that taiko game exists: thank you for an awesome time today. Apparently the machines at the arcade haven't been updated since Go-Onger, which sucks because no Zyuohger, but rocks because it meant I got to merrily beat drums with my friend to the funnest theme in sentai.we then stupidly chose to play the Can-Can and died. The way they compact some songs and note structure ruins certain songs. I think I said last time Just Live More was one of the shortened ones and it's absolutely terrible since it just immediately jumps to an entirely different beat mid-song. It gets way worse on Oni as well since you now have to contest with that while doing triples and quintuples.
So I just finished Gobusters (thanks to the kind anon that recommended it to me) and I must say it was quite amazing! It was my first sentai and I'm glad it was. I loved the characters and the plot, it was so entertaining and fun to watch and oh god it got really emotional towards the end, more than making up for the bit of a slow start the series had.
Are all Sentai as good as Gobusters? Any other recommendations seeing that I liked Gobusters so much? Thank you so much in advance.

No, sadly. But there are some that are better depending on your personal tastes. I would recommend ToQger though. Written by the same person and quite a lot of people like it. And if you liked the villains in Go-Bus, the villains in ToQ get even more screen time and they are great characters.

Finally caught up on the last 3 episodes of Zyuohger. Leo is still my favorite character and Tusk actor is starting to become comfortable in his role. One major positive thing this show has is its cast. This is the first show since Gokaiger when I began watching the current sentai weekly where I like each character.

Nope but styling says a hell of a lot. It's for kids, they're gonna make the bad guys wear dark colours and have hair/headwear that obscures their eyes and thus makes them look untrustworthy. Wearing white with a fun multicoloured jacket and light hair styled upwards are pretty clear markers of a friendly character. Think of how Kinji went from wearing black leather to wearing hawaiian shirts and having a straw hat that didn't obscure his face at all. It's like how everyone could tell straight away that Sela and Tusk were going to be serious characters just from their headshots.
He looks like a GokaiSilver/ShinkenGold more than a BoukenSilver at first glance is all I'm saying. Who knows, Toei might surprise us and go full AbareKiller
