One thing I don't like about the debit handguard is that it's overly smooth and slick. Between the radius they put on the rail and the paint, it needs some sort of cover I've yet to pin down.

Figured I would ask here instead of creating a new thread, I have a in Saiga 556. I was originally going to cut the barrel down and swap the gas blocks out, now that I alphabet soup approval.
but, after giving it some thought, if i was to shorten the gas block to krink length, switch out the gas tube, and piston, would there be any ill effects to this? I.E cycling issues, or over gassing the piston and slamming it too hard back. thanks in advance.
