I just finished up that Samurai Edge project I'm sure some of you have seen around here before. I finally got a straight dust cover frame for it and can say that it is, according to all in-game reports and images, a perfect replica.

Interesting point, but all of the research I've done indicates that the original Samurai Edge model (RE1-3) has the standard Law Enforcement mark on the right side of the slide. Later variations, such as Jill's A1, had the Kendo Custom mark.

You'd probably need a whole new pistol, man.
Barry's is a 96F. You could put in a .40 barrel but the frame is wrong, too. The trigger guard isn't the correct shape. I don't think you can get the exact model compensator, either. You could build something close, though. If I had to do it all over again I would start by immediately ordering grips and the barrel. Those two took a while.

I'm building Snake's custom M4 from MGS4 right now. Have run into some issues. Namely, the game says the rail is free floating, but it's rendered with an end cap. The KAC RAS rail I found is a drop-in, but I'm not sure if I'd be able to make it look like it does in the picture, seeing as how when I take the A2 sight off, the PRI front sight would operate as the gas block. Anyone have any input?

That's really unfortunate. His acting and involvement with the character was pretty spot on. The writers? Eh, not so much. But that's the problem with those earlier modern Marvel movies. They were pretty spotty because of mediocre writing and cinematography and the overall reviews suffered for it. The lastest ones aren't so bad though. I really enjoyed Age of Ultron, though I wish they would have focused a little more attention to Ultron's evolutionary stages throughout the film. You see it, but it's not explained, you know?

You're autistic enough to know you're supposed to use a straight dust cover, but not autistic enough to know that "Kendo Custom Shop", not "Mod. Samurai Edge" was the markings on Chris's, Jill's, and Barry's Samurai Edge? Only Rebecca's stock Samurai Edge had "Mod. Samurai Edge." Jill's Samurai Edge and Samurai Edge A1 both had "Kendo Custom Shop." Look at the Tokyo Marui airsoft. Also, you need different rear sights.

I appreciate the input, but I'm not really basing it off of Jill's REmake era pistol anyways. I was going to RE3's description of the pistol which used this sprite in the Kendo Fax about the Samurai Edge pistol. Keep in mind that this picture was meant to the representation of the Samurai Edge model for all of STARS. It's only when REmake came out did they start make everyone's pistol unique in some way.
So I was really just going for the run-of-the-mill Samurai Edge pistol.
Also, those sights don't actually exist. The closest I could ever find was the 90two sights, but the RPD requirement for the pistol called for dotted post sights which the Brig sights fulfill.

Anyways, I started with a 92 Brigadier to get the slide, but had to find a good used 92F to get the proper frame. So In actuality I came out with 2 full pistols, all said and done. The slide was sent in to Customized Creationz in Michigan for the work.

I did end up getting a Mosin and a (Yugo) Mauser. I ended up developing an admiration for bolt-action rifles in particular.

Note that the calibers aren't quite correct in some. The Colt SAA is in .45 Colt and the Winchester Model 70 is in .30-06. It's damn near impossible to find a .308 Model 70 or similar FNV hunting rifle-esque bolt-action in Switzerland, sadly. As for the Colt, I might get a .357 Uberti some day.

There's no Colt SAA in New Vegas, it's a Ruger Vaquero. No half cock, cylinder freely rotates when the loading gate is opened, and a frame-mounted firing pin.

It's a semi auto open bolt AM-180. There's a weird trick to make it go "full auto" by using weak .22 rounds and manually rotating the magazine instead of having the magazine motor inserted, but I've only witnessed another guy at the range doing that with it and haven't been able to recreate it.

Its a M14 in a bullpup stock. Can't recall if it's a 16 or 18 inch barrel. I plan on an 18 inch barrel because .308 is better out of an 18 inch.

Yes, so far the .30-06 part has been challenging. Apparently, they're either aftermarket barrels, or another model's barrel entirely (such as the Encore's). According to some sources, the Contender can't/shouldn't shoot .30-06.

45 is more expensive to shoot but more powerful than 38.
another thing to think about is a .38 caliber bore through cylinder and barrel sized originally for .45 means there's more metal weighing down the front end. that can help soften recoil from a .357 but might be unnecessary for .38
that's why I ultimately chose .45 but it was a hard choice
