How can the Sherman be considered the best tank of WW2 when my gf is literally half the size of it?

Good point, your gf can probably hold twice as many men inside her.
>>30075537
What does her asshole smell like?
>>30075537
Is that the escort you hired because your multi-ton, tank sized gf can't leave the house?
Or can you just not use English correctly?
>>30075557
His gf is only half the size of a Sherman, give her a break.
>Not dating loli-tank.
Post nudes of her. It's almost fap time.

I'll give you three (3) dollars and 54 cents in small coins to take her picture straddling the gun barrel.
I'm prepared to go as high as 4 dollar$ if she can do the duck face at the same time.
I take it you GF is off frame eating a small Asian family?

Time to log off OP. You just got shrekt.
>>30075537
Hold the fuck on. Are there actually people who argue that the Sherman was the best tank of WW2?
>>30075537
There's not really that much of a size difference between any of the tanks. Tigers were only a bit taller than Shermans, Shermans were only a bit larger than T-34s, etc.
>>30076336
It'd be pretty hard to find one better. Flexible, well built, modular, very comfortable and survivable for their crew, and able to take on anything else, to include heavy tanks, with at least some degree of effectiveness.
>>30075546
Words don't apply to my reaction. Nor does an image. Rekt like a motherfucker. Holy shit.
>>30076336
Yes, because most of the people arguing for Tigers or T-34s are just basing their arguments on memes.
>>30076336
Tactics win battles, logistics win wars
>>30075537
The Sherman was the best because it was a cheap piece of shit that we could make tens of thousands of and treat as an expendable resource to overwhelm the Germans with sheer numbers.
There were nearly twice as many Shermans as ever Nazi tank variant throughout the war combined, and 100 times more Shermans than King Tiger tanks.
>>30076336
Mostly just murritards who are too contrarian to pick a Russian or German tank.
>>30076485
I think you have the Sherman confused with the T-34.
>>30075537
wow, great thread OP
>>30076336
There are still Sherman-based vehicles in active military service in some countries, 70 years after the war ended. The French couldn't keep a company of Panther tanks running even with support from the former factory right after the war.

And then the best tank would be the T-34. Truth is, the Sherman was outclassed by its german counterparts in terms of performance, and the russian tanks in terms of production and flexibility.
>>30081231
>Russian
>flexibility
>had to be converted to a casemate to be anything but a mediocore tank
Nice try Ivan, but no.
>>30076336
It is.
In the Red Army, guard units tried to get all the Shermans they could get in their hands. They absolutely loved them.
In Wermacht all captured Shermans were used extensively and again - they were loved.
All the western allied armies used and praised them too.
Then some dumb simplistic propaganda based on few incidents started to spread and the "muh deathtrap" myth started to form.
>>30075546
>>30075537
Variants, my friend. Sherman Easy 8 and English Firefly is one of best Sherman Variants.
And if you mean gf, we're she suppose to be about... 5.7 or 5.9 'in because that's what Sherman's chassis height level is at.

Nice try Hans, but since when was the T-34 only useful when converted into a casemate? You do realize that the T-34, a medium tank, could mount an 85mm gun, what you would normally find on a heavy tank? Whereas the original German medium tank, the PzIII, couldn't even mount a real 75mm?

Not him but many Guards units did use them, though these were almost always mechanized units, not tanks corps, as the Shermans was more suited to such a role in deep battle doctrine. The mobility made them excellent for the exploitation of gaps created by the corps.
That said it wasn't like units would just request Shermans. In the Red Army crews of foreign equipment were marked as such in their personnel files and would only ever be assigned to other foreign tanks, i.e. Matilda/Valentine crews would become Sherman crews. The idea that a T-34 unit would be reequipped with Shermans, as some claim, wouldn't have happened.
Thier crews and the infantry of the mechanized units were quite fond of them, though. Tank riders like that they could dismount and take the AA .50 cal with them. The two engines could be clutched separately and their rubber track pads made it especially quiet at low speeds and is possibly why they were the first Soviet tanks in cities, most famously Vienna.
>>30087737
At the end of the war the Soviets had the option of returning Lend Lease equipment or paying for it. That they decided to keep the Shermans says something, though they were repurposed for civilian use.
>An epitaph came out of these mournful days (how could it not), "Yesterday it was a menacing tank, and now, by order—they took off the turret—it has become a tractor. Front-line comrade, how painful to witness the death of the Emcha [Sherman]. Try not to cry!"
>The Sherman tractors of the 1st Battalion were sent to the Krasnoyarsk area [3,400 kilometers east of Moscow, in Siberia] for work in the forest industry, to clean snowdrifts from the roads (they pulled heavy metal v-plows). The vehicles were shipped in three groups, accompanied by our driver-mechanics and commanded by an officer.
>Countless hundreds of Emchas were on hand in Red Army units. In a five-day period, they all disappeared. They ceased to exist as a combat entity. They were written off at headquarters, and the matter ended. For more than a year, the Sherman turrets were preserved in motor pools. After the formations were demobilized, the turrets were carted away to weapons storage facilities.
Not sure how long they were used in civilian hands, Russia was still using some of the Lend Lease Liberty Ships until 1974.
